Patent number: 6157865Abstract: A process and system to fabricate jewelry or curios. A conventional drawing program is used to create, manipulate or input an image. The image is reversed or flipped to make a mirror view of the image. This mirror view of the desired image is then printed on heat shrinkable material base material which has been specially coated. The sheet of base material with the mirror image is then shrunk utilizing heat. A this point the image can be viewed by looking through the non printed side of base material. Viewing the image through the base material (which is possible because the image is reversed) has been found to create a much sharper image. The printed side of the resulting curio is coated with a transparent material in order to add water fastness and durability. Finally the printed side of the curio is coated with an opaque white coating. It has been found that applying this opaque coating dramatically increases the quality of the image when the curio is placed on a dark background material.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1997Date of Patent: December 5, 2000Assignee: Mattel, Inc.Inventor: John Cromett

Patent number: 5031420Abstract: A device for removably attaching a pendant to a decorative chain is disclosed. The device comprises two arcuate latching elements. The first latching element receives the chain and has an arm swivably attached to one end, which engages the other end when it is swiveled to a closed position, thereby creating a closed, locked loop around the chain. The second latching element receives a connecting loop on the pendant to be attached to the chain. The second element has a locking bar swivably attached adjacent to an eyelet on one end. The eyelet is adapted for receiving the first latching element. The locking bar has a longitudinal opening through which the eyelet protrudes when the locking bar is swiveled to a closed position, the locking bar thereby creating a closed, locked loop around the connectinhg loop on the pendant. When the two elements are interlocked in this manner, they are oriented at right angles to each other.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1990Date of Patent: July 16, 1991Inventor: Chang J. Song

Patent number: 5022237Abstract: A jewelry finding or attachment means by which a charm is attached to a bracelet. The particular attachment means enables the charm to be removably attached at any desired location along the length of the bracelet at a location where the charm will be fully visible while at the same time not obscuring the upper surface of the bracelet and therefore not obstructing the view of any of the gemstones in the top surface of the bracelet. The attachment means further provides a safe and secure attachment with dual safety features to assure that the attachment and charm will not come loose and fall off the bracelet.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1990Date of Patent: June 11, 1991Assignee: Superior Diamond CorporationInventors: Thea B. Patent number: 4967574Abstract: A charm having a body wall, an extremity, a pin secured to an inner surface of the extremity and extending through the body wall, and a retaining ring secured tightly against the body wall and being around the pin. The extremity is thereby rotatably connected to the body wall by having its open end pressed against an outside flat of the body wall while the retaining ring is pressed against an inside flat of the body wall. Both flats are parallel to each other. The pin projects perpendicular to a plane which passes through a longitudinal edge of the open end. Excess play between the extremity and the body wall is eliminated by forcibly shifting the pin perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the extremity.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1989Date of Patent: November 6, 1990Inventor: Robert B.
