Patent number: 10689785Abstract: A compression knit fabric consisting of a base knit and an elastic weft yarn inserted therein. The base knit is formed from at least one knitting yarn, and the weft yarn is inserted in weft yarn courses between two consecutive stitch courses of the base knit. The knitting yarn in each stitch course of the base knit is knit in alternation as loop stitch and tuck, so that the knitting yarn forms a tuck stitch between two loops of a stitch course of the base knit. The weft yarn is inserted between adjacent stitch courses of the base knit in alternation as tuck and float so that the weft yarn floats between two tuck stitches of a weft yarn course. The alternating sequence of loop stitch and tuck in consecutive stitch courses of the base knit is offset by a stitch relative to the alternating sequence of tuck and float in consecutive weft yarn courses.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2018Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: JULIUS ZORN GMBHInventor: Martin Buchschuster

Patent number: 10233574Abstract: A knitting method and an apparatus for a cylindrical biaxial weft-knitted three-dimensional knitted structure. The biaxial three-dimensional knitted structure comprises two weft plain stitch structures (7, 7?), a group of spacer yarns (416), two groups of weft inserting yarns (415, 415?) and a group of warp inserting yarns (43), wherein the two groups of weft inserting yarns are used for selective weft inserting on a needle dial (11) or a needle cylinder (13), the warp inserting yarns are positioned between the two groups of weft inserting yarns, the two weft plain stitch structures are connected with each other by the group of spacer yarns, for jointly clamping the weft inserting yarns and the warp inserting yarns, in order to form a biaxial weft-knitted three-dimensional knitted structure.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2015Date of Patent: March 19, 2019Assignee: JIANGNAN UNIVERSITYInventors: Ailan Wan, Honglian Cong, Gaoming Jiang, Jiang Tian

Publication number: 20040171324Abstract: A knitted fabric having moisture management properties. The fabric is formed from filamentary yarns and spun yarns, both the filamentary and spun yarns having substantially the same weight per unit of length. The fabric is knitted with so that the courses alternate between a filamentary yarn and a spun yarn.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2003Publication date: September 2, 2004Inventors: Robert A. Patent number: 6653250Abstract: A low-shrinkage, stable print platform circular knitted, cotton/synthetic fabric. The fabric is a two end fleece fabric having a weight of between about 8 to 12 oz. per sq.yd., a stitch density of between about 800 to 1000; and a face yarn count of the fabric is between about 16 to 20. In the preferred embodiment, the backing yarn count of the fabric is between about 7 to 12. The resulting fabric construction of the present invention has stretch of less than about 3% stretch in the width direction and less than about 3% stretch in the length direction when tested according to a standard stretch chart. In addition, the fabric of the present invention has shrinkage in the range of less than 5% when tested according to a standard one wash cycle. The resulting fabric is an exceptionally stable print platform, circular knitted fabric and improved pilling resistance.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2000Date of Patent: November 25, 2003Assignee: Sara Lee CorporationInventor: Sonny B. Patent number: 6370921Abstract: A device knits together a tubular structure of continuous fibers with a stitch yarn, to provide a reinforcing substrate, especially for use with roofing materials. The device brings together first and second sets of the continuous fibers at a cylinder with a plurality of latch needles. The first set of fibers enter the cylinder radially in interstitial spaces between adjacent needles. At least one continuous fiber constituting the second set of fibers enters the cylinder tangentially at an insertion point. Axial manipulation of the needles at the insertion point results in knitting the stitch yarn around the intersecting first and second continuous fibers, resulting in the knitted tubular structure. The manipulation is achieved by rotating the means by which the second fibers and the stitch yarn are introduced, as well as the means for manipulating the needles, in a stepwise sequential manner around the circumference of the cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2001Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Assignee: V2 Composite Reinforcements, Inc.Inventors: Derrell M. Patent number: 5198288Abstract: A knit fabric with improved machine working loss and dimensional stability has an elastic combination yarn of 10% to 70% elongation incorporated into the fabric. The combination yarn comprises spandex which amounts to 0.2 to 3.5% of the fabric weight.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1992Date of Patent: March 30, 1993Assignee: E. I. Patent number: 4492096Abstract: The invention concerns the production of deformable hollow reinforcements of revolution by a three-dimensional weaving. In a network of rods 18 held and rotated about a vertical axis 11 by rotary perforated plates 52, 53, 54, there are inserted in oblique crossed directions, i.e. non-radial directions, threads in the form of chain stitch loops produced by a knitting device 32. The chain stitches are downwardly compacted by the lower edge of the plate 52 which is inclined for this purpose.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1983Date of Patent: January 8, 1985Assignee: Societe Nationale Industrielle AerospatialeInventor: Georges J. Patent number: 3949570Abstract: A knit fabric is provided in which a woven structure is simulated by feeding spaced warp ends while laying filling ends at opposite sides of the warp ends and causing weft stitch courses to be knit so that needle loops thereof form wales running in the space between the warp ends and passing outside of filling ends at both sides of the warp ends while intervening sinker loop portions pass to one side of the warp ends. Such fabric can be formed on any type of weft knitting means that has been adapted properly.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1975Date of Patent: April 13, 1976Assignee: W.
