Abstract: A method of producing a knitted brief blank of flat form. First, a preliminary tubular blank including a comparatively narrow portion of crotch fabric is produced by seamless knitting. Then this tubular blank is slit and opened out flat into a final brief blank. The preliminary tubular blank in one form comprises two circular knitted tubular portions extending relatively at an angle and connected by an interposed elbow-like pouch formed by reciprocatory knitting on to the point of which is knitted a comparatively narrow selvedged loop of crotch fabric.Alternatively, the preliminary tubular blank may be wholly produced by circular knitting and comprise aligned opposite end portions and an intervening waisted portion of reduced diameter constituting narrowed crotch fabric.

Abstract: A knitted structure and method of making same which includes simultaneously knitting two concentric tubes and interconnecting the tubes by knitting to produce seams which define a garment of juxtaposed portions of the two tubes. Each concentric tube includes a plurality of feeds per course knitted separately on the dial and cylinder needles, respectively, of a circular knitting machine.

Abstract: A continuous, tubular, one-piece panty hose is formed on a circular knitting machine with a waist opening extending longitudinally of the direction of knitting and surrounded by a reinforced elastic section with stitches that resist raveling or breakdown. In the waist portion of the panty hose, each course is formed by a pair of partial courses, one end of which overlap and the other end of which form the longitudinal opening.

Abstract: The process is designed for the forming of a collant, i.e. pantyhose article or the like, with a double cylinder circular hosiery machine. The two legs or the like are knit on two cylinders in a simultaneous manner, with a continuous rotational motion, and the pant portion is formed with a fabric knit alternately on the two cylinders, to which the yarn is alternately fed. During the forming of the pant portion one proceeds with a continuous rotational motion of the two cylinders, passing the yarn from the needles of the first cylinder to the needles of the second cylinder at a position angularly spaced from the one wherein the yarn has passed from the needles of the second cylinder to those of the first cylinder. In this manner the tubular fabrics formed by the two cylinders are bound with one another at least at these two positions. In correspondence with the intermediate fabric portion between the two positions, a longitudinal separation cutting is effected.

Abstract: The panty portion of the panty hose is knit of stretch and spandex yarns to provide compressive force against the body of the wearer. The panty portion includes an attractive pattern of relatively opaque areas and open lace areas with alternate courses being knit of spandex yarn and intervening courses being knit of main and auxiliary stretch yarns. The spandex yarn is knit in every wale of the opaque areas and is selectively knit and tucked in the open lace areas. The main stretch yarn is knit in every wale of both the opaque and open lace areas while the auxiliary stretch yarn is knit in plated relationship with the main stretch yarn in the opaque areas and is floated in the open lace areas.

Abstract: The body garment is of seamless knit and unitary construction and may comprise a panty or the body portion of tights or panty hose of the one-piece type. The body garment comprises a plurality of panels formed by reciprocal knitting which enables variations to be made in the size of different portions of the body garment according to the walewise and coursewise dimensions of the several panels. These panels comprise two elongated waist panels generally formed with tapered edges and separated by a crotch panel running generally perpendicular thereto.
