Warp Patents (Class 66/192)
  • Patent number: 4064712
Abstract: A warp knit two-way stretch fabric is formed by knitting a ground construction of inelastic yarn in a two-needle overlap pattern and laying elastic yarn into each course of the ground construction, the laying-in motion exceeding the underlap motion for the inelastic yarn in the same direction in the same course by one needle of the knitting machine. In the resultant fabric, each end of laid-in elastic yarn lies substantially parallel to the wales of the ground construction and is covered in each course by a full wrap of an underlap segment and a half wrap of the segment interconnecting the two loops formed by the two-needle overlap of the inelastic yarn.

  • Patent number: 4047402
Abstract: Two or more warp-knitted members of a tubular or cylindrical shape are interconnected by a connecting thread to provide reinforcement to be inserted longitudinally in a row of helically coiled fastener elements. The tubular warp-knitted members may be wrapped around core members. A choice is available of diameters of the warp-knitted members so as to be compatible with the particular shapes and contours of given fastener elements. A plurality of warp-knitted members are interconnected in such a fashion that the resulting reinforcement can be adapted for securing a relatively large-size fastener element onto the tape.

  • Patent number: 4026129
Abstract: A dimensionally stable, padded, fabric of the type having a layer of carded, fibers reinforced by a woven fabric layer, warp knitted together by separate yarns is characterized by the carded fiber layer being unbonded, uncompacted and of intermingled, non-parallel fibers. Also by the woven fabric base layer being a fine mesh, thin, strong, tightly woven scrim of spun polyester fibers in the range of 28s to 40s. Also by the warp knit yarns being spun polyester fibers in the range of 16s to 24s. The knit yarns are embedded in the soft exposed batting face but are on the surface of the exposed scrim face to give that face high abrasion resistance.

  • Patent number: 3992904
Abstract: A stitch-bonded non-woven fabric of the kind comprising a web of fibers stitch-bonded by wales of chain stitch loops on one side of the fabric which are interconnected on the other side of the fabric by stitch laps is described. In a first group of succeeding courses the wales are connected by stitch laps in sets which are not connected by stitch laps to wales in adjacent sets, so that the web stands out between adjacent sets in longitudinal stripes. In a second group of succeeding courses at least one of the wales in a set in the first group of courses is connected by stitch laps to a wale outside the said set so that in the second group of courses the said longitudinal stripes are broken and the second group of courses appear as a transverse bar in which there are no longitudinal stripes in which the web stands out.

  • Patent number: RE28718
Abstract: A run-resistant textile material includes a knitted structure of warp threads on a backing layer of loose fibrous material.Individual fibers are pulled out of the layer by notched knitting needles of a warp knitting machine and formed into loops together with, and underlying the chain .[.switched.]. .Iadd.stitched .Iaddend.warp threads. The fiber loops whose ends are anchored in the backing layer protect the fabric from laddering when a single stitch is broken.

  • Patent number: RE28857
Abstract: Apparatus for producing stitch bonded fabric and having needles which penetrate a fleece and receives threads which are controlled by thread guides and also including wires which enter but do not completely penetrate the fleece whereby a loop of fibers are formed around a hook of the needle and retained thereby. The threads lock the interengaged stitch loops and means are provided to permit a thread to be passed over the hook formation of the needle to form a .[.tricot-.]. stitch seam to the fleece. .Iadd.
