  • Publication number: 20040065125
Abstract: The present invention provides a dry-cleaning machine capable of performing a water-repellent finishing process when necessary, while ensuring a high level of safety. When the water-repellent finishing process has been performed after the drying process (Step S2), the solvent contained in the water repellent penetrates into the laundry articles. Taking this into account, the upper limit for the temperature difference ?T between the inlet and outlet of the drum detected is set lower (e.g. 10° C.) than that the upper limit (e.g. 20° C.) applied to the case where no water-repellent finishing process is performed. This temperature setting reduces the amount of heat supplied to the laundry articles and accordingly decreases the evaporating speed of the solvent. Thus, the concentration of the gasified solvent in the air-circulating passage is maintained under the safety level.

  • Patent number: 6502432
Abstract: This machine for wet treatment, for example dyeing, for textile materials, comprises a horizontally elongate vat, in which is formed a zone for the storage in folds of the fabric to be treated, which forms a rope closed on itself. A hydraulic and/or mechanical system for driving the fabric is placed at the start of a transport tube provided for returning the fabric from the front end of the vat toward the rear end of the latter. A system for injecting a gas stream, for example air, in contact with the fabric is provided within the vat; the system is located, in the direction of travel of the fabric, between the point where this fabric returns to the storage zone and the hydraulic system. This system spreads and dries the fabric. The invention is used for the fault-free dyeing of fabrics composed of modern fibers.

Abstract: A clothes washing machine includes an accessory mounted on top of an agitator. The accessory includes fan blades that are stored in one configuration to be out of the way of articles being moved into or out of a washing tub of the washing machine and are deployed into an operational configuration by centrifugal force when the washing machine operates in a spin dry cycle. In the operational configuration, the fan blades are oriented to move air through ports defined in the door of the washing machine to and over articles being spun in the machine, and then out of other ports in the door. The air flow enhances the drying process occurring during the spin cycle.

Abstract: A washing-drying machine includes an inner tab having a rotating shaft and sustained rotatably in an outer tab suspended elastically in a cabinet, where a agitator disposed rotatably on an inner bottom of the inner tab. The washing-drying machine also includes a motor for driving the inner tab or the agitator and a warm-air-circulating pass having a heat exchanger cooled by a cooling section. The washing-drying machine further includes a controller for controlling processes including washing, rinsing, dehydrating and drying. The cooling section is formed of a water-cooling-section for cooling warm-air in the heat exchanger by supplying water, and an air-cooling-section for cooling an outer wall of the heat exchanger by blowing air. As a result, high dehumidification rate by improving heat-exchange efficiency of the heat exchanger can be obtained, and clothes are hardly damaged and electric power and the amount of water consumption can be saved.

  • Patent number: 6434857
Abstract: A combination closed-circuit washer and drier apparatus having a washing cycle and a drying cycle. The apparatus comprises a unitary housing having a tub and a tumbler within the tub, the tub also having an air inlet and air outlet which allows air to flow through the tub, wherein air flowing from the air inlet is in communication with the tumbler. The apparatus also includes a desiccant recharging system located within the unitary housing having a entrance and an exit, the entrance coupled to the air outlet and the exit coupled to the air entrance, thus allowing a continuous flow of air through the system. The desiccant recharging system also includes a diverting valve that directs the flow of air primarily through the desiccant system in a closed-loop during the wash cycle. The diverting valve alters the air flow between the washing cycle (desiccant regeneration) to the drying cycle (desiccant water adsorption).

Abstract: A washer-dryer has an improved efficiency of drying; namely, the drying time is shortened and the unevenness of drying is alleviated. Furthermore, vibration during operations, especially during spin-drying, is reduced. An inner tub of approximately cylindrical shape rotating around a substantially vertical axis and for receiving a wash load is housed in an outer tub. The inner tub is provided with freely rotatable agitating means at the bottom part for agitating the wash load. A motor rotates the inner tub or the agitating means. The air to be supplied through a hot air supply channel into the inner tub is heated by heating means, which air is advanced by a drying air blower into the inner tub. Control means controls each of the washing, rinsing, spin-drying and drying processes by controlling respective operations of the motor, the heating means, the drying air blower, etc.
