Abstract: Provided is a tool that includes a handle assembly including a top portion and a bottom portion. The tool also includes a lock plate disposed between the top and bottom portions and having a deflectable arm having a free end biased towards the top portion, a fixed end opposite the free end, an inner edge, an outer edge, and a detent near the free end and the inner edge. The tool additionally includes a blade having first and second ends, an indent in a bottom surface of the blade near the first end for engaging the detent in a closed position, and a ramp on the bottom surface near the indent defining a reduced thickness portion of the blade that reduces in thickness from the indent towards an edge of the blade to reduce contact between the detent and the blade during rotation of the blade.

The apparatus may include a retention body configured for securing a cutting tool therein and a housing configured for receiving the retention body. The apparatus includes a guidewire holder member configured for receiving a guidewire therein and aligning with the guidewire to allow the cutting tool to travel along the guidewire. The retention body is configured to be movably attached relative to the housing to allow the retention body and cutting tool to advance toward the subject to a deployed position, and subsequently withdraw to a retracted position.

The protruding portion extends out of the handle opening for the extended function, and the protruding portion is fixed in the handle by the fixed portion after the protruding portion is retracted in the handle. The lint removing device with an extended function of the handle enables the lint removing device to expand other functions in addition to the lint removing function.

The tool drivers are contained within channels of the body when in a closed position.

Abstract: A utility tool, such a putty knife, includes an elongated handle for manual handling of the utility tool, a blade and a screw bit assembly. The screw bit assembly is rotatably mounted about the rear portion of the handle, has a screw bit, and is operable between a non-operating configuration where the screw bit is nested within the handle, and an operating configuration where the screw bit is drawn out of the handle and securely maintained in a fixed configuration so as to be positioned at a slanted angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the handle. In addition to being able to carry out other various functions, in drywall applications and the like, the tool by virtue of its design and components enables a more ergonomic grip, and to have a greater lever effect for screwing fasteners with its screw bit assembly.

The opener portion further includes an inner cam surface defined by a first radius from a center of rotation for the opening device. The inner cam surface is provided on an upper surface of the opener portion and extends from the pry edge toward the first end of the handle portion. The opener portion also includes an eccentric outer cam surface defined by a second radius from a second center of rotation for the opening device.

The middle section connects at a first end to the handle section and at a second end to the distal section. The distal section extends from the middle section and is in a distal section plane offset from the handle section. The distal section plane is at an angle to the handle section plane. The distal section is used to take a painting material and place and manipulate the painting material onto a painting surface.

The caulk working tool is displaced relative to the first and second surfaces while the first and second sides are in contact with the first and second surfaces to cause the scraper surface to work the caulk against the first and second surfaces and form a desired profile in the caulk.

A used roller cover can be removed without the need to grasp the used roller cover. Installation of a roller cover onto the roller assembly automatically engages the retainers and shifts the locking lever into the locked position.

Abstract: A folding multipurpose tool includes removable tweezers. The tweezers have a pair of opposed legs that are hooked over a pin extending through a tool storage pocket in a handle of the tool. The tweezers can pivot about said pin between a folded position within said pocket and an extended position outside of said pocket. One of the legs is thicker than the other and unable to pass through a passageway between the pin and the floor of the tool pocket. When the tweezers are in the extended position one of the legs may be slid into the pocket, disengaging the tweezers from the pin and enables the tweezer to be lifted out of the pocket. A generic implement with a hooked shaped base may be removed from a tool pocket in a similar manner.

One preferred configuration of the engaging means is a protrusion attached at an edge of the screwdriver bit and a flange attached at the edge of the orifice, so that the flange is adapted to reversibly receive the protrusion in a frictional interlocking relationship when the screwdriver bit is inserted into the orifice. Yet another preferred configuration of the engaging means comprises a magnet within the orifice, in which the magnet is adapted to reversibly receive the screwdriver bit when the screwdriver bit is inserted into the orifice.

One end of the tool has a hook for suspending the tool from a horizontal support and to thereby support a paint can suspended from the tool. The tool can be made of one material, and it is preferably rigid throughout its entirety and presents a handle for maneuvering the tool in its multi-functions.

The handle may include a bit storage slot for receiving and storing a screwdriver bit. The overlay may include a plurality of flexible fingers adjacent to the bit storage slot for securing a screwdriver bit in the slot. The hammer may include a sleeve for receiving a screwdriver bit with a working portion of the bit extending from the sleeve.

Abstract: A painter's tool providing multiple functions is disclosed for a painter's use in preparing a surface for painting, for opening containers, and for cleaning utensils. The tool includes a blade connected to a handle, with the distal end of the blade having a beveled edge bounded by a first squared corner and a second pointed corner. The blade includes a first side having a plurality of teeth along the first side, with the first edge extending outwardly at an angle from the handle toward the squared corner, thereby allowing ergonomic gripping of the handle while cleaning a brush or gouging with a blade corner. The blade includes an arcuate second side having an inwardly curved mid-portion for cleaning a paint roller, the curved mid-portion being bounded by two opposed notches recessed into the second side of the blade. The second side further includes a projection proximal the handle end of the blade.

A pair of spirit levels (S1, S2) are retained in retaining means (2, 20) at right angles to one another to enable horizontal and vertical lines to be found. Knife (K) is retained in a groove (6) with its blade shielded to prevent it from accidentally injuring a person. The tool has a flexible edge area (12) which tapers to a straight, ruled edge (12b). This area (12) is useful for pressing pasted paper onto a wall and for removing air-bubbles. Edge (12b), which is parallel to one spirit level (S1) and perpendicular to the other (S2), facilitates the measuring of distances between widths of wallpaper. Studs (9) are provided on a rear face of the body (1) so that the body stands proud of a surface and can thereby be more easily grasped.

A dimpler attachment is removably coupled to the second portion of the shaft and includes a tip that tapers to a point. The tip may be inserted into a hole left in a wall as a result of removal of a fastener, the hole being smoothed over by a rotational pressure applied to the dimpler tool by a user. The dimpler attachment is interchangeable with attachments having variously sized tips or with auxiliary attachments having variously configured screwdriver tips.
