Abstract: Disclosed herein are multipurpose scissors. In the multipurpose scissors, an upper blade and a lower blade are connected by a pivot pin, opposite cutting edges are formed on the upper and lower blades in front of the pivot pin, and upper and lower handles configured to grip the upper and lower blades and to perform cutting work are provided in back of the pivot pin. The multipurpose scissors include a garlic mincing unit, including: a crushing part configured such that pluralities of depressions and protrusions are formed to engage with each other on the friction surfaces of the upper and lower handles; and a discharge guiding part formed on the inner side of the crushing part, and configured such that an inclined guide surface and a discharge groove configured to discharge garlic, minced via the crushing part, in one direction are formed therein.

Abstract: A retractile-fixing structure for a scissors comprises an inner tube having recessions and an outer tube allowing the inner tube to slide thereinside and having a handle and a fixing hole. One end of the retractile-fixing structure has a connection member connected with a blade. A switch is arranged in the handle, and a rolling pin is arranged inside the fixing hole. The rolling pin rolls on the inner tube or snap-fits to one recession. A pull rod is arranged between the inner and outer tubes with one end connected to the switch and another end engaging with the rolling pin. When the switch opens, the pull rod is separated from the rolling pin and driven to compress a spring; the rolling pin leaves the recession and slides on the inner tube simultaneously. When the switch closes, the spring makes the pull rod engage with the rolling pin; the rolling pin snap-fits to the recession; the inner tube securely engages with the outer tubes.

Abstract: The present invention is a scissor assembly adapted to be in an open or closed position and to be manipulated by a user to cut a selected material. The scissors assembly includes a first scissors member and a second scissors member pivotally connect and biased into the open position. The first scissor member has a handle and a blade. The first handle is formed as an enlarged and elongated shaft sized to fit in a user's palm and be gripped by the fingers, the second scissor member likewise, has a handle and a blade. The second handle has a portion which defines a lever sized to be manipulated by the thumb when the first handle portion is fit in the user's palm and gripped by the user's fingers. In the preferred embodiment, the first handle is formed as a releasable container and the second handle is foreshortened relative to the first handle. In the alternative embodiments, the first handle is formed of implements such as a screw-driver, flashlight or pliers.

The spike is held at and retractably protrudes from a handle of the scissors. A tip of the spike is pressed against a window glass. A spike driver is housed in the handle. The spike driver usually urges the spike in the protruding direction. When the spike pressed against the window is displaced inwardly, the spike driver accumulates a compression force corresponding to the displacement. According to the accumulated compression force, the spike is promptly pressed toward the protruding direction so as to break the window glass.

The forceps comprise a pair of pivotally joined arms having cutting edges on one end to cut in a scissorlike fashion and finger engagable loops at the other end. A roller is mounted on each of the arms. The rollers are movable toward each other to grip a flexible plastic tube between them when the forceps are closed. The rollers have matching configuration to insure proper gripping of the tube to clear the tube of its contents.

Abstract: A multi-purpose scissors which comprises a pair of first and second bodies which are pivotally connected by a detachable rivet or the like. The detachable rivet is arranged to be capable of being fixed to either one of a pair of positioning holes formed in the first body so that this can increase the relative movement of the first and second bodies hence to provide a more flexible function for the users. The first and second bodies are provided with a plurality of commonly used tools therefore it is a practical multi-purpose scissors.

Abstract: A surgical instrument is provided which has independent capabilities of operating as a surgical needleholder for suturing operations, and as a surgical cutting device for severing the suture thread. The instrument of the invention may be operated as a conventional needleholder and, to that end, it has a pair of jaws in which a suture needle may be securely held for the suturing operation, and it also has a usual clasp mechanism for locking the jaws in their closed position. However, in accordance with the concepts of the invention, one of the arms of the instrument is split into two co-extensive elongated sections, both being pivoted at the pivot point of the instrument. The distal end of the first section is formed into one of the jaws of the instrument, and that arm functions with the other arm of the instrument to perform the conventional needle holding function.
