    Abstract: An anti-theft and rollaway prevention handle assembly integrated into a park release mechanism of a vehicle. A housing has a recessed configuration supporting a park release pull handle engaged to the housing in a stowed position and preventing access to the handle. An unlock mechanism communicates with the handle via a latch such that, upon actuating the unlock mechanism, the latch being displaced to release the handle to project outwardly from the recessed configuration, permitting grasping of the same by a user in order to actuate the vehicle from the park position.

    Abstract: An automatic folding knife including a locking and safety mechanism. The locking and safety mechanism includes a radially outer surface on a blade attachment ring having an arcuate blade-open locking recess and an arcuate blade-closed locking recess circumferentially spaced from each other. A generally cylindrical lock ring is selectively axially movable into and out of engagement with the locking recesses so as to selectively lock the blade in either its open position or its closed position. A rotatable “safety” push button is provided to push the lock ring out of engagement. The rotatable push button can be rotated from its “active” position to a “safe” position regardless of whether the knife blade is open or closed.

When the protrusion of the tube is away from the through hole of the ring, the gear shiftlever is in an unlocked state and able to move freely.

    Abstract: A lock adapted for use in automatic gear shifts and mounted in a gear shift head, including a core, a stop block, an escutcheon, and a cylinder. The core has latch bolts at either side, a keyway at a front end, and a projection at a rear end. The stop block has a stop hole at a front end for receiving the projection of the core, and a stop projection at a rear end. The escutcheon has an insertion hole at a front end, the insertion hole having a cross section comprised of an oval shape and a rectangular shape sized to match the stop block, a through hole at a rear end, and a lock post that passes through the through hole, the lock post including a head portion of a larger size and a press piece projecting from the rear end of the escutcheon. A spring is fitted over the press piece and that part of the lock post exposed on the outside of the rear end of the escutcheon. A lock spring is further provided on the escutcheon near the press piece and adapted to urge against the inner wall of the gear shift head.

    Abstract: An auto-transmission shift lever locking structure for an automobile is disclosed. The locking structure includes a base member mounted to a free end of the shift lever and a cover member secured to the base member, defining therebetween a space for disposing therein a locking member and a U-shaped hook member. The base member is provided with a concave slot thereon. The cover member is provided with a first channel and a second channel. A locking driver has a driving rod rotatable by a key for locking or unlocking the locking device. The locking driver is mounted into the first channel of the cover member, used to operate the driving member and further control the U-shaped hook member. A shift enabling button with a spring is inserted into the second channel of the cover member to perform shifting of the transmission system when the locking structure is at unlocked position.

    Abstract: A lockable gear shift lever comprising a lever member and a detachable handle section, the lever member having a rotatable key plug, a locking post, and a locking plate disposed adjacent to the lever member. The locking post is actuated by the rotatable key plug to engage and disengage from the locking plate to allow the lever member to be locked into a fixed position. The handle section is rotatably and detachably mounted to the top end of the lever member and includes a key extending downward which inserts into the key plug and is used to rotate the key plug relative to the lever member to lock and unlock the lever member relative to the locking plate. Thus, rotation of the handle locks and unlocks the gear shift lever. The handle also includes components to couple the handle and lever member together securely when used for normal driving operation, and includes a push button to facilitate movement of the lever between gear positions while shifting.

    Abstract: A floor mounted shift console for an automatic transmission has a straight-line pattern for the conventional "P R N D I L" pattern and a modified "H" pattern for a 1-2-3 shift sequence. The manual shift lever is biased into an operating position with the yoke of a primary carrier during the straight-line pattern in all positions except "L". A blocker portion on the console prevents changing from the straight-line pattern to the modified "H" pattern except from "L", but permits a change from 2nd or 3rd in the modified "H" pattern to "I" or "D", respectively. A secondary carrier, cam and lever move the transmission control output cable, which is connected to the primary carrier, in a straight line during movement of the manual shift lever to the 2nd and 3rd positions of the modified "H" pattern. A link mechanism for locking the shift console in "Park" is also provided.

The device is designed to mount on the shift lever of certain types of automatic transmissions and prevent shifting out of the PARK position, thus preventing theft of the automobile, even though the engine may be started by unauthorized means. The device is readily attachable to automatic transmission shift levers of the type for which it is designed, cannot be removed without a key, is positive in operation so as to prevent shifting of the transmission when locked, is simple and economical to manufacture, and is reliable and effective in preventing unauthorized operation of a vehicle.
