Patent number: 8893534Abstract: A yard hydrant locking collar has two C-shaped steel hardened plates connected together at one end by a rivet. The rivet acts like a hinge and allows the top and bottom plates to swivel open and closed. The other end of each top and bottom plates has a locking hole. A one inch tapered slot is cut into the top plate near the locking hole. The top and bottom plates are rotated so the collar fits around the hydrant pipe. The locking holes and slot are positioned near the hydrant locking hole and the collar locking holes are aligned. A padlock is opened and tilted away from the pipe and the free arm of the padlock is placed through the locking hole of the hydrant handle and positioned over the locking holes of the collar. The padlock is then tilted back towards the pipe. The tapered slot allows the padlock to move towards the pipe so that the free end of the padlock can move through the locking holes. Once the free end of the padlock passes through the collar locking holes, the padlock can be raised and locked.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: November 25, 2014Inventor: Carl H. Patent number: 6382000Abstract: A vehicle anti-theft system (10, 10′, 10″) is provided which includes a pair of housing members (12, 12′ and 14, 14′), each having a respective cavity (122, 142) into which an upper portion of a vehicle automatic transmission gearshift lever (2, 2′) is received. The securement of the housing members (12, 12′ and 14, 14′) prevents access to a release button (4, 4′) carried by the gearshift lever (2, 2′). A lock (16, 16′) is provided to releasably lockingly secure one housing member (12, 12′) to the other housing member (14, 14′).Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2000Date of Patent: May 7, 2002Inventor: Sherie A. Patent number: 6382002Abstract: A gun lock includes a key operated lock mounted on a gun to prevent said gun from firing. A faceplate is attached to one side of the key operated lock to abut the gun, and a spindle hole is defined in the other side of the key operated lock. A U-shaped latch bolt has two arms connected by a rigid connecting block. One arm of the latch bolt is inserted into the barrel of the gun to prevent a bullet from being moved into the chamber of the gun. The other arm of the latch bolt penetrates the spindle hole and is held in place by the key operated lock.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2000Date of Patent: May 7, 2002Inventor: Chang-Yu Chen

Patent number: 6293130Abstract: The disclosure relates to a swivel lever actuator which can be secured by a padlock for the closure of switch cabinet doors or the like, with a dish which is arranged on the outer surface of the door or the like and in which is arranged the lock shaft, wherein an actuating lever is articulated at the free end of the lock shaft as to be swivelable out of the dish about an axis extending transverse to the shaft axis, and with a projection carried by the actuating lever, wherein an eyelet is arranged at the free end of the projection in such a way that when the lever is swiveled into the dish a padlock inserted through the eyelet prevents the actuating lever from swiveling out. The projection is mounted at the actuating lever so as to be displaceable, rotatable and/or swivelable in such a way that it can move relative to a second projection securely fastened to the actuating lever such that the two eyelets are aligned with one another and a padlock can be inserted through the eyelets.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1999Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Inventor: Dieter Ramsauer

Patent number: 6250589Abstract: An apparatus for rigidly interlocking a control stick and the rudder pedals of an aircraft is provided for protecting the control surfaces of the aircraft operated by the control stick and the rudder pedals against wind loads. The apparatus comprises a control stick clamp assembly rigidly connected to one end of a first lever arm and a rudder pedal retaining assembly rigidly connected to another end of the first lever arm. A second lever arm has one end connected to the rudder pedal retaining assembly. The second lever arm is moveable between a collapsed position and an extended position wherein the distal end of the second lever arm is engageable with a support surface such that the second lever arm is able to support the rudder pedal retaining assembly in engagement with each of the rudder pedals and thereby cause, upon the control stick clamp assembly being secured to the control stick, the first lever arm to support the control stick in a selected position.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2000Date of Patent: June 26, 2001Inventors: Richard T. Publication number: 20010000850Abstract: A locking device comprises a stopper support fixed to the body of a fluid controller, and a stopper nonrotatably mounted on the stopper support and engageable with a channel opening-closing handle for preventing the rotation of the handle. The stopper mounted on the support is movable upward and downward between a locking position wherein the stopper engages with the handle and an unlocking position wherein the stopper is out of engagement with the handle. The stopper support is formed with an opening for fitting the controller body therein and an aperture for fitting the stopper therein. The stopper has a vertical portion slidably fitted in the aperture and formed with a lock attaching bore.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 2, 2001Publication date: May 10, 2001Applicant: FUJIKIN INCORPORATEDInventors: Ryutaro Nishimura, Shigeru Itoi

Patent number: 6167735Abstract: A bicycle carrier fastening bracket has a main body, a base, and a leg extending from the base to support a tube defining a hole for receiving a threaded rod having threaded end engaged with a fast releasing nut. The threaded rod also has a head end and associated head end washer, the head end being engaged with a handle capable of eccentric motion. The tube has a slot for receiving an arresting washer, and there is a round hole in the leg. The handle has a grip with a locking hole corresponding in diameter to the round hole. The eccentric body fastening the handle regulates a distance between each of the threaded rod head end washer and the nut and its respective opposite end of the main body. The distance can be shortened to clamp a bicycle front fork when the handle is rotated to rest the grip against the leg, with the locking hole of the grip rested against the leg, so as to facilitate installation of a lock and confine displacement of the grip.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1999Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Assignee: Delta Cycle CorporationInventor: Justin Tyler Brown

Patent number: 6119494Abstract: A locking apparatus which is suitable for use with a manually operated control. The control is of a type which has a body and a handle. The handle is rotatable relative to the body and which is restricted to rotate between a first position defined by a first pair of abutment surfaces touching one another. In such a condition, a second pair of abutment surfaces are spaced apart to define a first gap between them. Rotation to a second limiting position is defined by the second pair of abutment surfaces touching one another and the first pair of abutment surfaces being spaced apart to define a second gap. The locking apparatus includes a first member which is attachable to the handle and a second member which is attached to the first member. The second member fits for use into either one of the first or second gap and provides further abutment surfaces each disposed to abut a respective adjacent abutment surface on the body of the control thereby to restrict rotation of the handle relative to the body.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1998Date of Patent: September 19, 2000Assignee: Pegler Ltd.Inventor: Richard Guy Whitfield
