  • Patent number: 8160807
Abstract: In information processing device or the like is provided to output a suitable form of information from a view point of user's non-feeling of trouble. In the information processing system, whether a user issues an output instruction or not is confirmed only with respect to information that is not extracted out of information stored in a first storing unit (211) and information that is not output out of information stored in a second storing unit (212) and the importance of which is not less than the standard value. Thus, it is avoidable for a user to coerce an output instruction or non-output instruction for information that is less important than the standard value even in the case that the information has been distributed or broadcasted from a distributing information server (100) and has been output or non-output information.

  • Patent number: 6662604
Abstract: An anti-theft device for vehicle steering mechanism, such as a steering shaft or a transmission rod, having a rotatable shaft. The anti-theft device has a fixing member fixed on the vehicle body, a connecting member joined with a steering handle, a locking member controlled by code device, a movable member provided on the rotatable shaft, for moving along the shaft but not rotatable around it. The movable member can move between a first position and a second position under the control of the locking member. When in the first position the movable member is engaged with the fixing member while disengaged with the connecting member so that the shaft can not rotate. When in the second position, the movable member is engaged with the connecting member while disengaged with the fixing member so that the shaft can rotate. The anti-theft device according to the invention has double functions of disconnecting transmission of steering force as well as locking the shaft.

  • Patent number: 6116370
Abstract: A new anti-theft system for permitting removal of the gear selection shaft from a vehicle having a gear selection console with an aperture extending through it that permits external gear selection of a transmission, thereby preventing theft of the vehicle. The inventive device includes a transmission engaging lever that is movably mounted to a transmission. The first end of the transmission engaging lever is insertable into the lower end of a shaft member that extends through the aperture in the console. A release lever extends from the aperture of the shaft member towards the lower end of the shaft member. The second end of the release lever has a flange extending from it that is inserted into a notch in the transmission engaging lever when the release lever is in an engaged position, thereby coupling the shaft member to the transmission engaging lever.

  • Patent number: 4724692
Abstract: Quick release mechanism which can be locked to prevent unauthorized removal of a bicycle wheel or other object secured thereby. The mechanism has an axially extending drawbar, a pair of clamping elements mounted on the drawbar for axial movement relative to each other between securing and released positions, an operating lever connected to the drawbar for moving the clamping elements between the securing and released positions, and a lock forming an integral part of the mechanism. In one embodiment, the operating lever is disconnected from the drawbar and locked in this position to prevent unauthorized removal of the object secured by the mechanism. In other embodiments, the operating lever is locked to prevent unauthorized release of the mechanism. A force indicating nut employed as one of the clamping elements indicates when the mechanism is adjusted for the proper tension to retain the mechanism in the secured position.

A paddle-type handle is pivotally carried by the body and is movable between a nested position within the body recess and an operating position. A bolt is carried on the back of the body and is movable between latching and unlatching positions. A key-controlled disconnect linkage is provided for selectively connecting and disconnecting the handle and the bolt. The disconnect linkage includes a disconnect member which is moved by a key-operated locking member between connecting and disconnecting positions located, respectively, in and out of the path of travel of a handle operating arm. When the disconnect linkage drivingly connects the handle and the bolt, movement of the handle from its nested position to an operating position will cause corresponding unlatching movement of the bolt.
