  • Patent number: 6116370
Abstract: A new anti-theft system for permitting removal of the gear selection shaft from a vehicle having a gear selection console with an aperture extending through it that permits external gear selection of a transmission, thereby preventing theft of the vehicle. The inventive device includes a transmission engaging lever that is movably mounted to a transmission. The first end of the transmission engaging lever is insertable into the lower end of a shaft member that extends through the aperture in the console. A release lever extends from the aperture of the shaft member towards the lower end of the shaft member. The second end of the release lever has a flange extending from it that is inserted into a notch in the transmission engaging lever when the release lever is in an engaged position, thereby coupling the shaft member to the transmission engaging lever.

Abstract: A device with a selection lever, which is pivoted about a rotational axis and arranged on a selection lever housing, for motor vehicle automatic transmissions, wherein a barring bolt connected with a lock cylinder is provided for the bolting mechanism of the selection lever. To keep the selection lever housing which rises into the vehicle's interior as small as possible, the barring bolt is disposed underneath the rotational axis of the selection lever. For the bolting mechanism of the selection lever, the barring bolt then engages a groove-shaped recess, of a pivoted catch lever arranged likewise underneath the rotational axis. The catch lever is fixed by the barring bolt and also fixes the selection lever in its bolted setting with a tang. For this, the selection lever is designed as a reversing lever, so that the tang of the catch lever engages the (second) lever part of the selection lever located underneath the rotational axis.

  • Patent number: 5596894
Abstract: A lock structure, which can prevent shifting of a control link and a push button of an automatic shift lever in a car, having a lever lock, an axle tube and a limiting block in a sheath. By engaging with of the lever lock, the axle tube and the limiting block, an depression of the push button for shifting can be prevented. When unlocked, a lock core on the lever lock can be turned to align the axle tube and the protruding pieces provided on the surface to allow displacement of the push button for normal shifting. The lock is locked by turning the lock core to prevent depression of the push button.

  • Patent number: 5561996
Abstract: A gearshift lock is used to prevent a gearshift from moving with respect to a gearshift seat from which the gearshift extends. The gearshift lock includes a locking box firmly attached on the gearshift seat and includes two passages therein. Two first springs each are respectively received in a corresponding one of the passages of the locking box. A U-shaped latch includes a curved rod and two prongs each of which is received in a corresponding passage of the locking box. A motor is positioned in the locking box and includes a toothed rotor head. A spring-biased engaging device is positioned in the locking box and engaged to the two prongs of the U-shaped latch thus limiting the two prongs of the U-shaped latch in the passages of the locking box and the curved rod of the U-shaped latch enclosing the gearshift thus preventing the gearshift from being moved. A control circuit functions to drive the motor in response to a reception of an effective control signal from a remote control.

  • Patent number: 5555755
Abstract: An antitheft device acting on a motor vehicle gear lever including a slider movable relative to support members and arranged to cooperate with the gear lever. The slider having a counteracting member which is brought into contact with the gear lever so as to prevent its movement when the antitheft device is engaged and consequently to prevent the use of the vehicle. The support members and the relative movable slider being arranged in a concealed position within a gearshift protection part positioned in the vehicle passenger compartment and from which the gear lever projects. The slider is a plate element with a recessed end arranged to lock the gear lever in a plurality of positions corresponding to different gears. The slider has a polygonal containing an actuator device which is defined by an elongate element torsionally constrained to the lock.

  • Patent number: 5551265
Abstract: The connecting linkage between a control lever and a control valve that controls the operation or the manipulation of an implement of a construction machine is often complex and difficult to properly adjust. The present invention provides a restraint mechanism for the control lever 10 to maintain its position in a neutral condition with respect to the control valve. A first plate 42 is pivotally mounted to a base plate 22 on the console of the machine and is movable to a first position to engage the control lever 10 and establish a neutral position. A second plate 58 is utilized to selectively secure the position of the first plate with respect to the control lever while the proper connections and adjustments are made to the linkage arrangements connecting the control lever 10 and the control valve to synchronize their respective neutral positions.

  • Patent number: 5551266
Abstract: A floor mounted manually operable shifter assembly for use with a vehicle manual transmission having a gear shifter selectively pivotal to a plurality of positions about longitudinal and transverse axes. The gear shifter assembly base has a pivotally mounted bellcrank lever, including an upstanding first arm and a rearwardly extending dish-shaped second arm, defining an upwardly concave semi-spherical raceway formed with a reverse gear position notch. An end fitting, pivoted on the shifter lower end, is adapted to apply a clockwise pivoting force on the raceway during the shifter's rearward travel which force overrides an interlock cable core counter-clockwise biasing force on the bellcrank lever. During the end fitting's forward travel on the raceway the cable core biases the raceway into counterclockwise sliding contact with the end fitting.

  • Patent number: 5542512
Abstract: In a selector device for an automatic transmission system, a rotatable member is supported by a first pivot shaft, and a selector lever is tiltably supported by the rotatable member by a second pivot shaft extending substantially perpendicularly to the first pivot shaft. A base end of the selector lever is bifurcated into a pair of engagement claws, and a checker cam is positioned in a gap defined between the engagement claws. A slide member can be slid into between the checker cam and the associated engagement claw to prevent the tilting movement of the selector lever. Thus, the slide member which is typically associated with a shift lock mechanism can prevent the tilting movement of the selector lever and, hence, the shifting of the selector lever from the P range position. Because the force applied to the selector lever is supported by the slide member as a compressive load, no substantial stress is applied to the actuator or the linkage provided between the actuator and the slide member.
