  • Patent number: 6679088
Abstract: A locking arrangement for a switchgear cabinet, having a holding device, which contains a manual lever in a handle receptacle. The manual lever can be arrested in a locked position on the holding device by a displaceably seated bolt. For actuating the bolt, the holding device, which is in operative contact with the bolt, contains a lock in a lock housing. To make a locking arrangement accessible with little cost to a limited and definite group of people in connection with switchgear cabinets, the holding device contains a secondary lock which is also in operative connection with the bolt, or the secondary lock is in operative connection with a second bolt by a second actuating member, wherein the second bolt arrests the manual lever in a blocking position on the holding device.

Abstract: Although a door locking handle assembly is small as a whole in thickness, it permits through a computerized personal management system of users a plurality of persons or users to have access to instruments contained in a box provided with the door locking handle assembly in an easy manner. In the assembly, a combination lock (19) opened by turning each of a set of its specially marked dial discs (21) a given number of times to establish a unique combination of marks of the dial discs (21) is incorporated in a door handle (13) or a base body (1) of the assembly. In operation, a locking member (44) of the assembly prevents the door handle (13) from being pulled out of the base body (1), and is driven to reach its unlocked position when the combination lock (19) is opened.

  • Patent number: 4616492
Abstract: The combination lock is one wherein movable members of the combination mechanism are set in decoding position by a key in the form of a rotatable shaft with a head at one end serving as a handle. Rotation of the key to proper decoding position is determined by shifting an index mark on the key relative to selected units of a set of letters or numerals on the lock housing. The combination mechanism makes use of a multiple number of pairs of discs concealed in the housing which must be successively set in proper decoding position, one disc relative to the other, to release a lock operating plug. In proper decoding position a slide bar, which normally blocks rotation of the lock operating plug, is shifted by key action into openings provided in the discs and out of blocking engagement with the plug, in which position the plug is free for rotation by the key.

Opposite ends of the deposit box have internal steel channels 54 and 55 enclosing recesses into which the live and dead bolts enter through apertures 60 in the side walls of box 50. When locked, live bolts 25 pin together lock assembly 30, a crossbar 16 at the back of cabinet 20, and deposit box 50, making the system highly resistant to attack.

  • Patent number: 4325240
Abstract: Locking mechanism has both a key setting multiple tumblers to unique positions and a combination wheel for each tumbler so that opening of the lock requires setting each wheel to correspond to its tumbler position. For a single lock, different keys require different combinations. A mechanical recorder records the wheel positions with each lock opening so that all combinations used for access can be read, if necessary.

  • Patent number: 4318288
Abstract: A tamper-resistant steering column lock incorporating an improved combination lock is disclosed. The improved combination lock includes an array of discs, each having an electrically conductive member extending therethrough. The disc at one end of the array is connected to the active terminal of the vehicle's electrical system and the disc at the other end of the array is grounded. When the discs are rotated to align the electrically conductive members, a circuit is completed to a solenoid or the like which regulates movement of a locking bolt between its locked and unlocked positions.

  • Patent number: 4073167
Abstract: A mechanism for converting predetermined alternating rotational movements to rectilinear movements is embodied in a combination lock having a casing with an elongated recess, a bolt slidably mounted in the casing for axial movement between a retracted unlocked position and a projected locking position, the bolt being non-rotatable in the casing and having an axial cylindrical recess, a cylindrical cam rotatably mounted in the bolt recess and held against axial movement relative to the casing; the cam is formed with grooves in its cylindrical surface inclined in opposite directions lengthwise of the cam and intersecting each other at predetermined positions angularly disposed about the axis of the cam; the bolt mounts an inwardly projecting follower slidably fitting into the cam grooves and means are provided for manually rotating the cam alternately in opposite directions in accordance with the intersections of the grooves to cause the follower to move the bolt axially in the casing.
