  • Patent number: 3976318
Abstract: A burglar-proof protector for locks mounted on doors having a cover enshrouding the lock and secured to the door with an opening in the center of the cover for receiving a key to permit actuation of the lock. A plate member is secured to the jamb of the doorway adjacent the cover to prevent manipulation of a tool between the cover and the jamb whereby the jamb may be damaged and the bolt retracted without the use of a key.

  • Patent number: 3961504
Abstract: An automotive trunk lid latch assembly including a housing, a pair of latching members and a cam member, each rotatably mounted in the housing, a shaft extending into the housing from a lock cylinder assembly and adapted to rotate the cam member in response to manual rotation of a key in the lock cylinder assembly, and a spring-loaded lever rotatably mounted intermediate the cam member and one of the latching members and retained therebetween by the end of the shaft, and adapted to be rotated by the cam member to, in turn, unlatch the latching members. In the event of removal of the shaft, the spring-loaded lever will snap away from the cam member into an inoperable position, thus preventing any unlatching operation thereafter by the insertion of a probe or a screwdriver to rotate the cam member.

  • Patent number: 3948069
Abstract: The device covers the ignition lock which is conventionally mounted on the vehicle steering column and comprises a lock housing and a C-shaped band received by the lock housing which together cooperate to form a shroud or cover for the ignition lock. The housing has a pair of latching devices for receiving the band and locking the band relative to the housing. The latching devices are operated from a key lock which permits release of the latching devices. The housing is positioned so that the key lock faces the vehicle dashboard so that there is little space between the key receiving lock and the dashboard thereby making it difficult for an unauthorized person to "jimmy" the lock open using a prying device or the like.
