  • Patent number: 10240363
Abstract: A deadbolt lock assembly for engaging a door with a visual feedback feature on the exterior assembly of the lock. A plurality of LEDs may be positioned in a linear array on the exterior assembly and may illuminate in a sequence to communicate the movement of the latch when the latch moves away from a door jamb into a locked position. The plurality of LEDs may also illuminate in a sequence to communicate the movement of the latch when the latch moves toward a door jamb into an unlocked position. Additionally, the plurality of LEDs may also be illuminated in a pattern to communicate when the power level in the battery of the deadbolt lock assembly is low.

Abstract: A multi-purpose concealing apparatus for concealing objects, for example, knobs, locks, etc., positioned on an external structure, for example, a door is provided. A first base member is attached to a frame of the external structure. A second base member is positioned on the external structure, adjacent to the first base member. The second base member defines a space for accommodating the objects and can accommodate auxiliary objects, for example, a key rack. Upper and lower slide elements are attached parallel to upper and lower inner panels respectively, and perpendicular to the second base member. Upper and lower outer panels of an enclosing structure slide against the upper and lower slide elements on the second base member to enclose the second base member. A concealing member is hingedly connected to the enclosing structure to conceal the objects. A magnetic board is attached to the inner surface of the concealing member.

  • Patent number: 8826709
Abstract: A relocking mechanism that blocks the path of a bolt within a lock assembly is presented. The relocking mechanism comprises a breakaway member that is repositioned when the lock assembly is attacked by some mechanical means, such as impact applied via a hammer and punch to the lock housing through a spindle hole in a door. The breakaway member prior to attack holds a preloaded relocking plunger clear from bolt movement. When the breakaway member is repositioned upon attack, the plunger is free to move under a biasing force into position so as to block the bolt thus keeping the lock in a secure locked state regardless of the state of the locks default blocking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8826707
Abstract: A locking device comprises a key (10) and a locking cylinder (30). The locking cylinder (30) in turn is composed of a stationary cylinder housing (31) and a cylinder core (32) rotatably supported therein. In order to increase the break-in safety, it is proposed to use two types of plate closures (40, 50) in the cylinder core (32), the displacement of that closure pointing into two radial directions (41, 51) that differ from each other. The key (10) comprises planar outer surfaces (12, 13) disposed at an angle to each other, the two types of plate closures (40, 50) being parallel displaceable to said surfaces. Each of the two adjoining outer surfaces (12, 13) has a dedicated linear control path (21, 22), which varies in adjoining key sections transversely to the key longitudinal direction (29) for coding the key (10).

  • Patent number: 7961914
Abstract: A system and method by which a portable, personal storage container can be secured and protected using the owner's fingerprint is herein disclosed. While the features of the invention can be incorporated into almost any type of physical container, it is most likely to be envisioned to be incorporated into a wallet, purse, sack or eyeglass case. The invention relies on a biometric sensor that recognizes the owner's fingerprint, and unlocks the container when a match is presented. In addition to physical storage and security, the invention also provides electronic storage for computer files such as electronic files, documents, photos and the like via an integral computer connector. Finally, the invention is provided with a proximity sensor that detects when it has been moved more than a preset distance away from the rightful owner. This feature thus provides security against theft.

  • Patent number: 7918116
Abstract: A deadbolt knob restrictor used to prevent the rotation of the inside knob on the deadbolt lock. The restrictor includes a ring member designed to fit between the cover plate located on the inside surface of the door. Attached to the ring member are two perpendicularly aligned support arms with a pin-style hinge formed on their distal ends. Attached to the hinge is an L-shaped latch. Formed on the latch is a cam surface which presses against a spring loaded piston disposed between the cam surface and the support arm. The latch includes a long leg that may be disposed transversely over the ring member, and a short leg that may be placed adjacent to the wide surface of the deadbolt lock's turn knob to prevent its rotation. During assembly, the ring member is placed under the locks inside cover plate. During use the piston forcibly holds the latch in a locked or unlocked position against the turn knob.
