  • Patent number: 11965357
Abstract: A locking system has a lock cylinder rotatable within a lock housing and a side bar movable relative to channels within the lock cylinder and lock housing between locked and released conditions of the lock cylinder. An idler block within the lock cylinder has a key channel receiving a key therein so that the key and idler block rotate together relative to the lock cylinder. Annular detainer discs are received between the idler block and the lock cylinder, each having an outer gate channel and an inner key bit such that keyed surfaces of the key engage the key bits when rotated to align the gate channels with the side bar and enable the release of the side bar to unlock the cylinder relative to the housing. A stationary shield may be fixed relative to the housing, about which the idler block rotates to restrict access to the detainer discs.

  • Patent number: 11866961
Abstract: An anti-vandal padlock has a base, a buckling unit, two anti-sawing sleeves, a ball, and a locking mechanism. The base has a mounting passage and an annular groove formed on an inner surface of the mounting passage. The buckling unit has two straight segments. The second anti-sawing sleeve is rotatably and axially-movably mounted in the mounting passage, and has a ball hole. The ball is mounted in the second anti-sawing sleeve and is capable of protruding out of the ball hole. In the locked state, the locking mechanism makes the ball engage in the annular groove to limit movement of the second anti-sawing sleeve, such that the buckling unit cannot be detached from the second anti-sawing sleeve. The two anti-sawing sleeves are rotatably mounted on the two straight segments such that the buckling unit cannot be sawn off and has a better anti-theft ability.

  • Patent number: 11795728
Abstract: A cylinder lock comprises a lock cylinder; a holder for receiving the lock cylinder; and a securing element, wherein the lock cylinder comprises a cylinder housing and a cylinder core that is rotatable about a cylinder axis in the cylinder housing and that has a keyway, wherein the securing element is axially fixedly held at the lock cylinder and has a blocking section, which contacts an abutment section of the holder in a blocking position, and a coupling section. The coupling section is accessible for a coupling actuation through the keyway and is rotationally fixedly couplable to the cylinder core by the coupling actuation. The blocking section is hereby then displaceable from the blocking position into a release position, in which the lock cylinder is released for a removal from the holder, by turning the cylinder core by means of an associated key.

  • Patent number: 11306507
Abstract: A locking system has a lock housing having first pin slots, a lock cylinder having second pin slots and being supported within the lock housing such that rotation of the lock cylinder is dependent upon a position of tumbler pins within the pin slots, and an idler block defining a keyway to receive a deviated key in which the idler block is rotatable relative to the lock cylinder between an entry position and a pin position aligning the key with the pin slots. One or more translating shields in the idler block are movable from an open position in which the keyway is unobstructed by the shield to allow for insertion or removal of the deviated key and a closed position in which the translating shield protrudes at least partway into a path of the keyway without interfering with rotation of the deviated key with the idler block.

  • Patent number: 9482031
Abstract: A cylinder lock includes a side bar assembly comprising a binding bar and a testing bar and code pins, each comprising a key projection, a code hole, and binding features. Partial rotation of the cylinder causes the binding bar to engage the binding features of the code pins to prevent radial movement of the pins. If the code holes of the code pins are aligned with code points of the testing bar, the testing bar is able to move inwardly with the binding bar and out of the slot so as to permit the cylinder to rotate within the bore. If one or more code holes is not aligned with a code point of the testing bar, the code point will contact the body of the code pin and thereby be prevented from moving radially inwardly out of a locking slot, thus blocking rotation of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 9181728
Abstract: A torque augmentor operatively associated with the cylinder assembly and the plug assembly of a pin tumbler lock cylinder increases the threshold torque required to rotate the plug assembly in the cylinder assembly, thereby hampering an attacker's “feel” for the relationship of the cylinder pins to the shear line, and of the plug assembly to the cylinder. One embodiment of the pick-resistant lock cylinder includes a spring-biased ball normally disposed across the shear line. Another embodiment has a cam normally biased into engagement with a cam follower, the cam being disposed on one of the cylinder assembly and the plug assembly, and the cam follower being disposed on the other. Another embodiment includes an hourglass-shaped false shear line creator operatively associated with the cylinder assembly and plug assembly. The coaction of the torque augmentor and false shear line creator of the lock cylinder of the present invention also hampers an attack by bumping.

Abstract: A lock cylinder that includes a housing and a plug. The housing defines a cylindrical cavity, and an outer pin chamber in communication with the cavity. The plug is rotatable within the cavity, and includes a key slot, a cylindrical outer surface, and an inner pin chamber aligned with the outer pin chamber when the plug is in a locked position. An outer pin is housed in the outer pin chamber, and an inner pin is housed in the inner pin chamber. The inner pin is engageable with a key inserted into the key slot, and further engageable with the outer pin. The lock cylinder also includes a lock member in communication with the housing and the plug that selectively disables the lock cylinder in response to partial rotation of the plug from the locked position without an appropriate key in the key slot.

Abstract: A high security cylinder lock includes a housing comprising a plurality of driver pin bores for disposing spring loaded driver pins; a plug rotatable within the housing comprising a plurality of balancing pin bores for disposing spring loaded balancing pins and a plurality of combination pin bores for disposing combination pins. Each combination pin is sandwiched between a driver pin and a balancing pin. The extension force of the balancing spring at its pre-load length is greater than the extension force of the driver spring at its fully-load length. The compound force causes at least one combination pin partially extended into a corresponding driver pin bore in the housing when the plug is at its first rotational orientation in case of no key engaged. The key profile pushes the balancing pins to move to such position that all mating surfaces of the combination pins and the driver pins to lies onto the shear line of the lock.
