Combination-controlled Patents (Class 70/425)
  • Patent number: 7377144
Abstract: A protective device for an electronic lock includes a fixing plate mounted in a casing of an electronic lock and located behind an opening of the casing. The fixing plate includes a through-hole aligned with the opening. A protective cover is mounted to the fixing plate and movable between a shielding position shielding the through-hole of the fixing plate and the opening of the casing and a revealing position not shielding the through-hole of the fixing plate and the opening of the casing. The protective cover is drivable by a motor to move between the shielding position and the revealing position. A keypad is mounted to an outer side of the casing. A motor is activated to drive the protective cover when a pin code is input through the keypad.

  • Patent number: 6523373
Abstract: A lock is designed to prevent theft of a notebook computer and is formed of a housing, a metal fastening, a locking mechanism, and a retaining mechanism. The locking mechanism includes an arresting bolt with a conical tip and a dial block. The retaining mechanism includes a retaining bolt with an inclined surface, which is pushed by the conical tip of the arresting bolt such that a hooked end of the retaining bolt is engaged with a T-shaped slot of the notebook computer at such time when the wheels of the locking mechanism are turned randomly. When the wheels of the locking mechanism are turned to a set series of numbers, the conical tip of the arresting bolt moves away from the inclined surface of the retaining bolt, thereby resulting in disengagement of the hooked end of the retaining bolt with the T-shaped slot of the notebook computer.

  • Patent number: 5732842
Abstract: Tank closure, especially for a motor vehicle, with a supporting part mounted on the tank in the peripheral area of a filling opening and receiving an actuating element which is rotatable around an axis that is approximately parallel to the central axis of filling opening. The actuating element is rotatable manually and/or by a filling arm of an automatic filling device into an open position that opens filling opening and in the opposite direction into a closed position that closes filling opening. A closing part guided approximately rectilinearly is located between supporting part and actuating element. The closing part is adjustable through an adjusting device by actuating element which opens filling opening when rotated to the open position, and which closes filling opening when rotated to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4793165
Abstract: A protective device for key-operated door locks, comprises a housing mountable to the door over the keyhole of a lock mounted within the door; a guard plate movable to a blocking position to block access to the keyhole, or to an unblocking position to permit access to the keyhole; and a rotary knob rotatable to a plurality of positions and having markings thereon indicating its position. A transmission mechanism including a plurality of notched code discs is provided between the rotary knob and the guard plate for moving the guard plate from its locking position to its unlocking position when the code discs have been positioned to predetermined coded positions such that further rotation of the knob moves the guard plate from its blocking position to its unblocking position.

  • Patent number: 4773243
Abstract: A ganged co-axial tumbler lock mechanism is provided to lock a slideable shaft coupled to a keyhole cover. Setting the proper combination on the tumbler lock mechanism permits the shaft to be slid away from the cylinder lock, thus moving the keyhole cover away from the cylinder lock keyhole. Once the tumbler lock is opened, a user may set the tumbler lock mechansim to a different combination. The entire mechanism may be constructed as an add-on mechanism for use with existing keyed cylinder locks. In an alternative embodiment, the present invention is integrally formed with a keyed cylinder lock for installation as an original lock.

  • Patent number: 4541260
Abstract: The improved guard plate of this invention is used to protect the cylinder of a lock. It includes a relatively flat body, attached to the door in the vicinity of the cylinder, and a disc rotatably mounted between the door and the flat body. In an open position, an opening in the disc permits access to the cylinder; and, in the closed position, the solid portions of the disc do not permit access to the cylinder. In adition, rotatable fingers are provided so as to lock the rotatable discs in either the open or closed position. Further, a stud extends from each of the rotatable fingers into and through the door. On the end of each stud is an electrical contact which may come into intermittent contact with an electrical contact positioned on the inside surface of the door. Thus, rotation of the rotatable fingers in the incorrect direction or too far in the correct direction will cause touching of the two electrical contacts and completion of an electrical circuit which will activate an alarm.

  • Patent number: 4318288
Abstract: A tamper-resistant steering column lock incorporating an improved combination lock is disclosed. The improved combination lock includes an array of discs, each having an electrically conductive member extending therethrough. The disc at one end of the array is connected to the active terminal of the vehicle's electrical system and the disc at the other end of the array is grounded. When the discs are rotated to align the electrically conductive members, a circuit is completed to a solenoid or the like which regulates movement of a locking bolt between its locked and unlocked positions.
