Abstract: A device for heating keys comprised of a plug which fits the socket of a cigarette lighter having means for heating a key. The device is comprised of a heating element surrounding a slot in the plug into which a key may be inserted for heating. The plug, when pushed into the cigarette lighter receptacle, activates the heating element which in turn heats the key. The device can be constructed as a slot in an existing cigarette lighter for use in conjunction with it, or may be a separate adapter plug. The device is activated by pushing the key into the slot in the plug or cigarette lighter and engaging the contacts by pushing the plug inward.
Abstract: A key bow cover which is adapted to be placed around the bow of a key and is composed of a pair of plates which are hingedly connected together by a rivet or other similar fastening means at the top end of the cover. The bow of the key is adapted to totally fit within one of the plates with there still being sufficient excess space to insert a money coin, such as a dime in United States currency. There is sufficient space in the other of the plates to also insert a similar coin. When the plates are located together to completely enclose the internal chambers, there is a fastening means provided to secure together the plates. Whenever it is desired, the cover can be opened and the dimes removed and used for whatever purpose deemed necessary, such as a telephone call. An insert is to be normally used within the cover to matingly cooperate within the opening provided by the joined pair of plates. A second opening is provided within the insert to matingly fit with the particular shape of key bow.
Abstract: A key retainer having a structure such as to substantially reduce the risk of loss by bouncing out of a pocket. A block of compressible foam such as polyurethane foam has a key chain attached. By compressing the block of foam with the hand and inserting it into the pocket, the foam resiliently expands, substantially filling the pocket or otherwise exerting pressure against the material of the pocket. These forces as well as the accompanying friction forces hold the key retainer securely and safely in the pocket, even in the presence of bouncing or inverting the pocket.
Abstract: Two elements are hinged together by one end thereof and are detachably locked by the other ends to form the key holder. The detachable locking means includes in one embodiment, a cylindrical member having a slot therein and being screw threaded on the outer surface. The engaging ends of the element are kinked or misaligned and will enter the slots. A closure nut is screw threadably engageable on the screw threaded outer surface of the cylindrical member thus closing the slot. The outer side of the nut is apertured to permit free rotation of the nut on the element but preventing axial disengagement of the element from the nut when engaged on the cylindrical member. Another embodiment is provided with detachable locks at each adjacent pair of ends of the holder with the slots on one side being a relatively loose fit to permit the other ends to be displaced sideways from one another when the lock of the one ends are disconnected so that keys can be removed or replaced upon the holder.
Abstract: A detachable key security assembly for preventing the unauthorized use of a key, more particularly to render the car key of a car parked in a parking lot temporarily non-usable so it can be left in the parked car and the theft of such car thereby prevented, has an elongated housing with a bore extending in from one end substantially the full length thereof to provide an open end and a closed end on said elongated housing, at least one sized slot in the walls of the elongated housing is provided through which the key to be secured is inserted, a gripping assembly in the housing is disposed for operative engagement with any key inserted in said sized slot, an actuator for operating said gripping assembly to engage and release said key includes, a unique shaped stud thereon, and a wrench disposed to extend into said housing has a matching end to fit the unique shaped stud of the actuator so as to operate said gripping assembly.
Abstract: A ring member comprised of a generally flat body section and a ring section defining a substantially closed loop at one end thereof is closely slidably received within a hollow open ended slide member. Spring biasing means are received in an elongated slot in the ring member body section with one end of the spring operating against one end of the slot and the other end operating against a tab member which comprises a part of the slide member. The spring continuously urges the slide member to a first normal position blocking an opening in the substantially closed loop of the ring section and also allows selective movement between the ring and slide members so as to expose the loop opening. A decorative outer cover closely surrounds the slide member. The slide member and outer covering include cooperating means for retaining the cover in position on the slide.
Abstract: A key holder including at least a pair of spaced rigid plates having a stud extending therebetween pivotally mounting a key for movement between a stored position wholly between the plates and a use position extending beyond the perimeter of said plates. A pivotal L-shaped lever is positioned between the plates for contacting the key upon movement being imparted thereto to rotate the key from its stored to its use position.
Abstract: A case for holding keys is shown comprising a flat, round base having a plurality of key receiving stations spaced around the member. The base may be rotatably disposed within a housing having integral top, bottom and side walls and a key access slot formed in a portion of the top, bottom and side walls so that any selected key station can be brought into alignment with the key access slot. In one embodiment means are provided for mounting the case on a chain as a pendant and the top wall is annular in configuration leaving exposed the central portion of the facing base and esthetic design thereon. Another embodiment useful as a pendant includes a cover overlying the top wall and hinged thereto. In yet another embodiment the case comprises a generally circular base without a surrounding housing, the base being provided with the usual key receiving stations on one or both faces and each station being provided with a key retractor.
Abstract: The invention is a pocket-sized card holder for keys, coins and/or similar items comprised of a thin card having a depressed region therein for receiving and containing the items and a pressure resealable, at least partially adhesively-coated lid which covers the depressed region and which can be stripped or peeled back to expose the contained items. The holder is preferably of credit card size for convenience in carrying, with overall thickness only fractionally greater than the items contained.
Abstract: A cloakroom bracelet for bathing establishments consisting of a flexible strap made of synthetic resin having at one end a buckle and a recess in its middle part for accommodation of a flat key having a key handle joined on a pivot to the strap. Abstract: A remote starting device for key actuated ignition systems comprising a key holder, a body member, an adjustable arm and a flexible line. The key holder and arm are secured to opposite ends of the body member and each is positioned to permit rotation of an ignition key held in the holder about the key axis when a force is applied to the arm. The line is attached to the arm and rotation of the key is obtained at a remote location by pulling the line. The angular positions of the arm and the key with respect to the body member are adjustable to provide a means of avoiding mechanical interferences while actuating ignition switches located in various positions within a vehicle from a variety of remote locations.
Abstract: A lock pick mechanism having a plurality of lock picks, a frame and housing members is disclosed. The lock picks, frame and housing members are connected together such that the lock picks may be contained within the frame and enclosed by the housing members when the lock picks are in their storage positions and such that an individual lock pick may be selected and pivotally moved from its storage to its operative position when the housing members are opened. After the selected lock pick has been moved to its operative position, the housing members may be closed to maintain the lock pick in its operative position.
