Abstract: A locking system and method of manufacture can include: a cargo container having a first container door, a second container door, and a container frame base; a lock box affixed to the second container door, the lock box extended into and through the second container door, the lock box including a sliding lock rod configured to extend behind the first container door when the lock box is in a locked configuration; a sliding lock rod guard affixed to a first exterior surface of the first container door and affixed to a second exterior surface of the second container door; door guards affixed to the second container door and the first container door; and a drop lock affixed to an interior surface of the first container door, the drop lock including a drop lock rod configured to extend down into the container frame base when the drop lock is in the locked configuration.

Abstract: The invention relates to a security box (100) for valuable objects (1) which can be received in a receiving element. Said security box comprises a protection device (110) for the valuable objects (1), which can be placed in different reinforcing modes according to different situations of the security box (100) and can be automatically released in at least one of the reinforcing modes, in order to devalue the valuable objects (1), and a receiving device (112) which is used to capture signals which influence parameters which respectively determine the necessary reinforcing mode. The receiving device comprises an optical capturing unit (112) which capture signals which are emitted by an optical emitter of the receiving element which contains the security box (100).

Abstract: A method and apparatus involve a plurality of first devices, and a second device movable relative thereto. According to one aspect, the first and second devices respectively transmit first information and second information containing unique identification codes, the first information also containing position information. The devices collectively include circuitry that estimates distances therebetween, one of the first and second information including the estimate. According to a different aspect, one of the second device and each first device transmits its identification code, and the devices collectively include circuitry that determines two successive sets of estimates representing respective distances between the second device and each first device. One of the second device and each first device transmits information that includes both estimates for that first device, and identification codes for the second device and that first device.

Abstract: A padlock is provided that may include a lock body and a hoop which is movable between an open position and a closed position with respect to the lock body. The lock body may include an inner housing, an outer housing and a latching mechanism for latching the hoop in the closed position. The inner housing may include a first insertion part and a second insertion part which may receive the latching mechanism to form a pre-installable module. The pre-installable module may be inserted between first and second shells of the outer housing in shape matched manner to place the padlock in a fully assembled condition.

Abstract: A multiple function lock comprising a body, an engaging element having a first end and a second end, a locking mechanism for securing the first end and the second end of the engaging element to the body, and a gate mechanism for selectively concealing or revealing a passage in the body through which the second end may move to unlock the lock. In. embodiments, a multiple function lock may comprise a body, a U-shaped shackle having toe and heel portions, the heel portion rotatably secured within the body, a locking mechanism for locking the heel and the toe portions within the body, a passage through the body adjacent to the toe portion, the toe portion adapted to move through the passage to unlock the lock, and either a retaining cup, an adjustable gate, or an outer housing, each being adapted to selectively block or reveal the passage.

Abstract: A system for determining quantities which influence the operating dynamics of a motor vehicle, the system containing at least two different control and/or regulating systems by which, independently of one another and independently of the driver, intervention measures which influence the vehicle dynamics may be performed with the help of suitable actuators, in response to one of these at least two different control and/or regulating systems carrying out an intervention influencing the operating dynamics of the vehicle, in each case the same quantity which describes the vehicle dynamics being altered by this intervention, at least two of the intervention measures influencing the vehicle dynamics being implemented in such a way that the same quantity which describes the vehicle dynamics is altered as little as possible by the intervention measures, and in the ideal case is not altered at all.

Abstract: A disc shaped padlock has a shackle in the form of an open ring moveable in an arcuate groove within the body of the lock with a key to bring the opening in the ring into an aligned relation with a radially extending noted in the body to form an unlocked condition of the padlock. The opening in the ring is moved out of alignment with the notch to form a locked condition in which the notch is closed by the ring like shackle. The ring is provided with ball bearings in the outer surface to engage the arcuate groove to limit lateral movement of the shackle to insure smooth and easy movement of the shackle and to avoid noise often cause by a loose fit of shackles.

Abstract: A gear shift lever lock including a lock body fixedly fastened to the console of a car near the gear shift lever and defining a circularly arched constraint chamber, a top cover covered on the lock body at the top, a shackle made to slide in and out of a sliding way on the lock body, a shackle spring mounted within a groove on the lock body to keep the shackle in the unlocking position, a latch bolt supported on a spring within a locating groove on the lock body, and a lock cylinder mounted within a locating hole on the top cover and a recessed hole on the lock body, and wherein pulling the shackle out of the sliding way causes the latch bolt to lock the shackle in the locking position in holding down the gear shift lever within the constraint chamber; turning the cylinder lock with the key causes the latch bolt to be released from the shackle to unlock the gear shift lever.

Abstract: A shrouded shackle lock having two shell halves with a cover plate in one shell half and a hole in the opposite other shell half. Fastener means positioned in the lock are turnable by a wrench inserted in the hole in the other shell half for removing the cover when the fastener means is disengaged from the cover. Upon the removal of the cover the lock cylinder is removable for rekeying or substitution.The lock shell halves are engaged together using a lock retainer ring welded to one shell half and thereafter bent over and around the other shell half.

Abstract: A protective device for locking two relatively movable objects of a cargo container in a fixed relationship employing a longitudinal bar mechanism pivotally mounted on one of said objects for cooperatively engaging with a pair of keepers mounted on the other of said objects for locking the objects together and a first rod assembly pivotally connected to one end of the bar mechanism and a handle at its other end with the rod moving longitudinally into engagement with one of the keepers. A housing is mounted around the rod assembly through which the rod is movable and defines a recess which exposes a predetermined portion of the length of the rod assembly. An aperture is formed in the predetermined portion of the rod assembly through which a shackle or padlock may be placed to lock the protective device.

Abstract: The present invention provides a padlock comprising a padlock body having formed therein a slot arranged to receive an object to be secured, a hasp mounted in the body and arranged to be moved between a first, inoperative position in which the slot can receive an object to be secured and a second, operative position in which it is disposed across the slot, said hasp being retained in said body in all phases of its operation and, when in the operative position, extending across the slot within the confines of the body so that the portion of the hasp securing the object is shrouded.The padlock of the present invention comprises a hasp which, when in the locked position, is shrouded but which does not have to be removed completely from the padlock body when not in use.
