  • Patent number: 8443737
Abstract: A security assembly comprising a frame member 12 and a plurality of doors 14 is mountable inside the housing 4 of an ATM or safe etc. Each door 14 can be opened and closed independently of the other doors. Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, each door 14 is attached to the frame member 12 by a hinge 16. A barrier member 18, which acts to lock the door 14, is mounted to the door 14 by two pivoting brackets 20. When in the locked condition, the barrier members 18 extend substantially along the whole length of the edge of the door to prevent access through the boundaries between the doors and the frame. A barrier member actuator in the form of a plurality of independently moveable locking blades 22 is slidably mounted to the frame 12.

  • Patent number: 8096152
Abstract: A lock system for a tool box is disclosed wherein locking is achieved with a lock which is located in a recessed portion along the front wall of the tool box in order to prevent tampering. A latch rod is slidably disposed adjacent a front wall of the box. The lock and the latch rod are disposed such that the lock body blocks the longitudinal movement of a lock engager and maintains the latch rod in the latched position when the lid of the tool box is in the closed position and the lock is locked. When the lock is unlocked, the lock engager is allowed to move past the lock to move the latch rod to the unlatched position thereby allowing the lid of the tool box to be opened. The lock system may be used for a horizontal or a vertical tool box.

  • Patent number: 7866192
Abstract: A locking mechanism for use in drawers of cabinet structures including a pair of bolts secured for lateral displacement along the interior face of the drawer front. A latch having a flange is rotationally secured to the drawer to permit the flange of the latch to be positioned between the opposing ends of the bolts and thereby preclude their further displacement. A lever, rotationally mounted out of the path of travel of the bolts is associated with an externally mounted lock that permits the user to rotate the lever and lift the latch flange out of engagement with the bolts, thereby permitting the bolts to be displaced out of a locking engagement with the cabinet structure.

  • Patent number: 7841221
Abstract: A lock assembly is provided which includes a lock mechanism with cover, and a pair of vertically movable locking rods. The lock mechanism is readily mountable to a liner of a cabinet door by a clamp member which permits initial clamping of the mechanism on an inner liner of the door, after which the inner liner is mounted to an outer finish panel. After assembly of the inner liner to the outer panel, the lock assembly is clamped in an aligned position in alignment with a corresponding lock aperture in the outer panel. The lock assembly further includes a fastener-free connector arrangement between a lock rack of the lock mechanism and the locking rods which is slidably driven thereby. A cover is snap fittingly mounted on the inner liner to guide the locking rod and prevent disengagement from the lock rack.

  • Publication number: 20100171399
Abstract: A card lock apparatus is provided. The apparatus has a slot for receiving a key card with a plurality of perforations. The perforations align with a plurality of pins within the house of the card lock apparatus. The pins are moved upward by the inserted card and then urged downward into an aligned perforation. Each pin has a seat for supporting the biasing element and engaging a notch within the actuator. The position of the seat determines whether the actuator is moveable. When all seats are substantially aligned the actuator is traversable to an unlocked position by a manually moveable member. A manually moveable member disengages the device from the enclosure allowing the enclosure to open.

  • Publication number: 20090102332
Abstract: A locking mechanism for a cabinet door is disclosed. A handle pivotally attached to the cabinet door has a first portion on a front side of the door and a second portion on a back side of the door, wherein rotation of the first portion causes rotation of the second portion. An upper rod is pivotally coupled to the second portion of the handle and is translationally coupled to an upper guide via two regions of engagement. A lower rod is pivotally coupled to the second portion of the handle and is translationally coupled to a lower guide via two regions of engagement. Rotation of the handle causes translational movement of the upper rod relative to the upper guide in a line of motion defined by the two regions of engagement at the upper guide, and causes translational movement of the lower rod relative to the lower guide in a line of motion defined by the two regions of engagement at the lower guide.

  • Patent number: 5632166
Abstract: A locking mechanism for furniture unit is provided which utilizes a single component for translating rotary motion of a tumbler cylinder of a key lock into reciprocating, linear motion of a pair of opposing lock rods. The mechanism includes a base having a pair of linear guide channels which are defined by spaced sidewalls, a lock rod received in each of the linear guide channels, each of the lock rods having a radially extending projection engaging the sidewalls of one of the guide channels, a key lock, and an actuator which is attached to a drive shaft connected to the tumbler cylinder of the key lock. The actuator includes a pair of arcuate channels, each of which is at least partially defined by spaced camming surfaces which engage opposing sides of the projections on the lock rods, whereby rotation of the actuator in one direction retracts the rods to the unlocked position and rotation in the opposite direction extends the rods to the locked position.

  • Patent number: 4813251
Abstract: A four point locking system for a storage cabinet having a pair of outwardly pivotable doors which provide access to the cabinet interior. The locking system includes a lock bar vertically disposed in each door and adapted to be moved downwardly into the bottom lintel of the cabinet. A plunger bracket is pivotably mounted within the top of the cabinet and includes plunger flanges which move down through the top lintel of the cabinet into each door to lock the top portion of the cabinet doors while simultaneously moving the lock bars downwardly to lock the bottom portion of the cabinet doors. The pivotable movement of the plunger bracket is controlled by a lock push bar which is directly connected to a lock push button extending through the front of the cabinet. An extension spring is utilized to bias the push bar and plunger bracket towards the unlocked position while compression springs attached to the lock bars bias the bars upwardly to their unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 4609233
Abstract: An improved locking system for furniture of the type having a plurality of drawers, at least one of which is locked from a remote position through a keyed operator module by translating a slide bar to interfere with one of the drawers in a locked position. A flexible, rotatable cable extends between the operator module and a connector/actuator module associated with the slide bar. The connector/actuator module comprises a crank with an integral shaft and rotatable, eccentric lug which is directed in an L-shaped slot in a slide plate. Rotation of the cable imparts translatory movement to the slide plate which is followed by the slide bar. In another aspect of the invention, the operator module, which is geared to the cable through a translatable rack, causes extension of a bolt on the rack to lock a second drawer simultaneously as the slide bar realizes a locked position.
