  • Patent number: 12019606
Abstract: Certain hash-based operations in network devices and other devices, such as mapping and/or lookup operations, are improved by manipulating a hash key prior to executing a hash function on the hash key and/or by manipulating outputs of a hash function. A device may be configured to manipulate hash keys and/or outputs using manipulation logic based on one or more predefined manipulation values. A similar hash-based operation may be performed by multiple devices within a network of computing devices. Different devices may utilize different predefined manipulation values for their respective implementations of the manipulation logic. For instance, each device may assign itself a random mask value for key transformation logic as part of an initialization process when the device powers up and/or each time the device reboots. In an embodiment, described techniques may increase the entropy of hashing function outputs in certain contexts, thereby increasing the effectiveness of certain hashing functions.

  • Patent number: 11828405
Abstract: The present invention provides a transfer line exchanger which is optimized for one or more objective functions of interest such as pressure drop, erosion rate, fouling, coke deposition and operating costs. The transfer line exchanger is designed by computer modeling a transfer line exchanger in which the cross section of flow path is substantially circular and modeling the operation of the transfer line under industrial conditions to validate the model design and its operation. Then iteratively the model design is deformed and the operation of the deformed part is modeled and compared to values obtained with other deformed models until the value of the objective function is optimized (e.g. at an extreme) or the change in the objective function is approaching zero.

  • Patent number: 9864351
Abstract: A consumable-goods reordering system in which a system controller has access to the signals transmitted by each smart appliance relevant to the environment being monitored, such as a home. Each appliance monitors a particular physical condition that is related to the appliance's usage of a consumable good, senses changes in the condition being monitored, and reports states of the condition. Meanwhile, the system controller memorizes and maintains the states of various processing events, such as when an appliance reported a particular state of the monitored condition. By considering the information reported by the multiple smart appliances, as well as by accounting for the states corresponding to the various events, the system controller is able to continually update a representation of the state of the monitored environment. Having such context awareness enables the system controller to generate intelligently various reorder messages for transmission to the various suppliers of the consumables.

  • Patent number: 9823651
Abstract: A method and a system for re-sequencing client production orders where client-individualized JIS components have not been delivered in due time according to the planned production schedule due to disturbances or have been delivered, but are defective. Three major steps are performed. First, by the introduction of the concept of differently permutable sub-sequences, the frozen time zone is divided into a plurality of sub-sequences of different length in time wherein the length is adapted to the time variants in the re-planning process. Second, using a knowledge-based model, the consequences of a disturbance are classified to be caused either by delayed supply or by defective parts. Third, after determining the type of distortion combining the type of sub-sequence with the status of the supply leads to the generation of three possible algorithms for the re-sequencing of the client production order.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus allow for easy and efficient structural design and/or reconfiguration while using existing stock components. One or more implementations allow a designer to import a stock file containing an inventory of stock components that are usable as part of a structural design. In particular, one or more implementations allow the stock components to be used in a structural design while tracking, in real-time, the availability of stock components. Furthermore, one or more implementations automatically correlate stock components with existing components of a structural design or with new components as a designer inserts them into the structural design. Additionally, one or more implementations visually distinguish between new components in the structural design and stock components in the structural design. Furthermore, one or more implementations auto-select or modify surrounding components in the structural design to match an inserted stock component.
