  • Patent number: 7343214
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a novel method, system and computer program product for tracing die units during material transfer from, for example, one factory or lot to another (and efficiently maintaining correspondence between die data and an individual die during, e.g., a lot transfer process). One or more embodiments of the present invention are intended to improve the mechanism of die-level traceability by assigning individual die IDs to each die unit in, e.g., each lot, and associating a range of die IDs with a corresponding index string. When, for example, some dies are transferred from, e.g., a first lot to a second lot, the entire die information associated with the first lot is copied to the second lot, and a different index string is assigned to the second lot to indicate the actual dies or range of dies that have been transferred. The first lot's index string is then adjusted to indicate the dies remaining after the transfer.

  • Patent number: 7200456
Abstract: The invention concerns an identification process that makes it possible to confer traceability to manufactured products (PROD), from data of origin (C, D) initially brought together at a source point (P_SOURCE) and including a control identification number (C) and manufacturing data (D) common to these products (PROD). The process of the invention provides for the formation of two parallel information flows, (?1 and ?2), each of which ensures a propagation of the data of origin (C, D) in time and space from the source point (P_SOURCE), and includes three tests (COMPAR—1, COMPAR—2, COMPAR—3) that makes it possible to verify the internal consistency and integrity of these data of origin in the form in which they are propagated.

Abstract: Provided are a system and method for automatically tracking a lot being moved between first and second manufacturing lines during semiconductor manufacturing. In one example, the method includes assigning a first state to the lot to indicate the lot's presence in the first manufacturing line. A trigger event indicating that the lot has been moved to the second manufacturing line may be identified, and a second state may be determined for the lot to reflect the lot's presence in the second manufacturing line. The second state may then be assigned to the lot.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for managing movement of small lots between processing tools within an electronic device manufacturing facility. In some embodiments, a number of priority lots to be processed is determined and an equivalent number of carrier storage locations are reserved at a substrate loading station of a processing tool. The number of reserved carrier storage locations are made available either by processing and advancing occupying non-priority lots and/or moving unprocessed occupying non-priority lots from the substrate loading station. Priority lots are then transferred to the reserved carrier storage locations. Other embodiments are provided.

  • Patent number: 7170393
Abstract: Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags and an antenna grid are used for automatic determination of cable connections. An RF antenna grid is advantageously employed on a device having a plurality of device ports (e.g., cable connection points) which may, for example, be physically organized in a two-dimensional arrangement. Then, when RFID tags are fixed to one or more cable ends, it can advantageously be determined which of the one or more cables are connected to which of the ports on the device. The RF antenna grid may comprise a plurality of individual antennas which are advantageously multiplexed such that a single RFID reader can handle the sensing for all antennas. Also, opposing ends of a given cable may be advantageously provided with RFID tags having related ID codes such that connections which exist between two connected ports of the device may be easily and efficiently determined.

  • Patent number: 7162326
Abstract: The physical movement of reticles and solder bump masks within a wafer processing plant are continually tracked and documented in a historical database for the useful life of the reticles or masks. In an example embodiment of the mask tracking method, the method includes moving the masks from one location to another in mask pods. In addition, a mask data set is generated for each mask composed of a mask identification code cross-referenced to a pod identification code and the mask data sets are processed by a computer arrangement. The mask data sets are then updated in the computer arrangement to include a facility location identification code as each mask moves to a subsequent location during wafer processing. The present invention provides the advantage that wafer lots and reticles can be matched to an event on the processing line and stored as data for later review and analysis.

The transportable containers have associated radio frequency tags having identification codes uniquely identifying the carriers in the fabrication process. The enterprise information system contains data corresponding to each such identification code. The identification codes are read by a radio frequency interrogation device, and the radio frequency interrogation device carries out transactions with the enterprise data system to transfer the data corresponding to the identification codes to the radio frequency interrogation device. The radio frequency tags may be adapted for read/write functionality allowing for writing data to the radio frequency tags and synchronization of radio frequency tag data and enterprise information system data.

  • Patent number: 7122988
Abstract: This rotation driving apparatus includes a torque generating circuit 72 for generating a torque of a servo motor 30 with voltage supply from a power source 71 and a motor control circuit 73 for controlling rotation of the motor. In the torque generating circuit 72, a condenser 76 is arranged to detect a level of the supplied voltage and a period of voltage drop. A voltage-drop information detected by the condenser 76 can be transmitted to a host controller 70. The host controller 70 previously memorizes a power-recovery information having a voltage drop and a time under an instantaneous blackout capable of recovering within a predetermined period and a rotation control pattern information of the motor corresponding to the power-recovery information and further compares the voltage-drop information, the power-recovery information and the rotation control pattern information of the motor with each other. Based on a control signal, the controller 70 controls the rotation of the servo motor 30.

  • Patent number: 7120884
Abstract: A mask identification (ID) bit circuit (100) is disclosed that provides one of two potentials (VGND or VPWR) to a sense node (108). A mask ID bit circuit (100) may include a number of links (102-0 to 102-4) arranged in series. A link (102-0 to 102-4) may include inputs (104-0 and 104-1) and outputs (106-0 and 106-1). In one configuration, inputs (104-0 and 104-1) may be directly coupled to outputs (106-0 and 106-1). In another configuration, inputs (104-0 and 104-1) may be cross coupled to outputs (106-0 and 106-1). Cross coupling inputs (104-0 and 104-1) and outputs (106-0 and 106-1) of a link (102-0 to 102-4) can switch a potential (VGND or VPWR) supplied to a sense node (108). The configuration of more than one link (102-0 to 102-4) of a mask ID bit circuit (100) can be changed, allowing a sense node to be switched between two potential (VGND and VPWR) multiple times. According to an embodiment, n mask ID bit circuits (100) may provide as many as 2n different mask ID codes.

  • Patent number: RE40188
Abstract: An integrated circuit identification device (ICID) to be incorporated into an integrated circuit (IC) includes an array of electronic cells in which the magnitude of an output signal of each cell is a function of randomly occurring parametric variations which vary from cell-to-cell. The ICID also includes a circuit for measuring the output of each cell and for producing output data having a value reflecting the particular combination of measured characteristics of all of the elements of the array. When we make the number of elements in the array large enough, we insure that to a high degree of probability, the pattern of measured array cell characteristics for an ICID embedded in any one IC will be unique and distinguishable from such patterns measured by ICIDs embedded in millions of other ICs. Thus the value of the output data produced by an ICID circuit acts as a unique “fingerprint” for the IC in which it is installed, and can be used as a unique identification (ID) for that IC.
