Fluid Mixing Patents (Class 700/285)
  • Publication number: 20020048212
Abstract: A system for developing a concrete mix design that allows a user to input a set of initial design parameters (such as required average compressive strength) for the design, and to specify various design criteria (such as the cementitious materials, aggregates, and admixtures to be used in the design) using a series of input screens. The system then displays several key initial design parameters and design criteria within a design criteria and parameters summary that is displayed on a single “worksheet screen.” One or more of these criteria and/or parameters is displayed in user-modifiable format. Upon pressing a “calculate” button, the system displays an initial set of design specifications that meet the specified design parameters and criteria. The user may then modify any of the user-modifiable design parameters and criteria. In response such modifications, the system immediately generates an updated set of specifications that satisfies the revised criteria.

  • Publication number: 20010015222
Abstract: A system for mixing and dispensing a structural foam formed from two or more component foam parts mixed together in a predetermined mass ratio. At least a first one of said component parts is pre-mixed with a blowing agent and maintained under pressure. The system comprises volumetric flow sensors to measure the rate of flow of each of the component foam parts to be mixed, a feedback loop comprising a digital computer, to determine whether the predetermined mass ratio has been achieved on an instantaneous basis, and at least one gear-type variable flow controller to reduce the flow rate of said first one of the component foam parts to be mixed. The gear-type variable flow controller is adjustable by at least one of an electro-mechanical, hydraulic or electrical type braking device in response to the rate of flow data measured by said volumetric flow sensor.

  • Patent number: 6161060
Abstract: An octane sensitive blending dispenser for fluids, particularly for fuel dispensers. The dispenser controls component pumps according to octane data measured by octane meters. In one form of the invention octane measurements are taken within the input lines connected to the dispenser from fluid storage tanks. Control of the component pumps is accomplished by determining the difference between the desired blend octane and the observed blend octane and adjusting the pumps so as to more closely blend the desired fluid.

  • Patent number: 6101422
Abstract: A process controller has a processor with an activation controller, an transaction controller and a batch processor. The transaction controller operates in communication with a machine interface for controlling operations of a plant device for overall job sequencing and individual job control. There is automatic communication of various polling and return signals to ensure correct sequencing of mixing operations. The activation controller helps to ensure that the processor controller is configured at all times for correct operation at a particular materials distribution location. The activation controller 2(b) creates a control file and carries out verification operations automatically to ensure that the initially sorted data is correct. The batch processor operates with parallel control and transaction transmission files which are automatically transmitted to a host computer for consolidation. Control data in both the control and transaction transmission files ensure data integrity.
