    Abstract: The nonlinearity of power amplifiers (PAs) has been a severe constraint in performance of modern wireless transceivers. This problem is even more challenging for the fifth generation (5G) cellular system since 5G signals have extremely high peak to average power ratio. Nonlinear equalizers that exploit both deep neural networks (DNNs) and Volterra series models are provided to mitigate PA nonlinear distortions. The DNN equalizer architecture consists of multiple convolutional layers. The input features are designed according to the Volterra series model of nonlinear PAs. This enables the DNN equalizer to effectively mitigate nonlinear PA distortions while avoiding over-fitting under limited training data. The non-linear equalizers demonstrate superior performance over conventional nonlinear equalization approaches.

A detailed heterogeneities map of the main reservoir is generated based the clusters of wells. The heterogeneities map defines heterogeneous regions. Each region contains a set of wells assigned to the heterogeneous region based on the wells having similar rates of change of pressure.

    Abstract: A location-based medical scan analysis system is operable to generate a generic model by performing a training step on image data of a plurality of medical scans. Location-based subsets of the plurality of medical scans are generated by including ones of the plurality of medical scans with originating locations that compare favorably to location grouping criteria for the each location-based subset. A plurality of location-based models are generated by performing a fine-tuning step on the generic model, utilizing a corresponding one of the plurality of location-based subsets. Inference data is generated for a new medical scan by utilizing one of the location-based models on the new medical scan, where an originating location associated with the new medical scan compares favorably to location grouping criteria for the location-based subset utilized to generate the location-based model. The inference data is transmitted to a client device for display via a display device.

    Abstract: Monte Carlo and quasi-Monte Carlo integration are simple numerical recipes for solving complicated integration problems, such as valuating financial derivatives or synthesizing photorealistic images by light transport simulation. A drawback of a straightforward application of (quasi-)Monte Carlo integration is the relatively slow convergence rate that manifests as high error of Monte Carlo estimators. Neural control variates may be used to reduce error in parametric (quasi-)Monte Carlo integration—providing more accurate solutions in less time. A neural network system has sufficient approximation power for estimating integrals and is efficient to evaluate. The efficiency results from the use of a first neural network that infers the integral of the control variate and using normalizing flows to model a shape of the control variate.
