Patent number: 8935131Abstract: When model expressions of objective functions are generated at vertexes of a quadrilateral on a plane concerning P and N channels of transistors in SRAM, the initial number of times of simulation is allocated to each objective function at each designated vertex according to weight values set based on relationships presumed among the objective functions at each designated vertex. Publication number: 20150006120Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and corresponding system for modeling a musculo-skeletal system. An embodiment of the method of the invention begins by scaling and positioning a musculo-skeletal model to correspond with motion capture data of a subject. Next, kinematically consistent motion data is generated from the motion capture data and then an inverse dynamic analysis of the musculo-skeletal model is performed using the generated kinematically consistent motion data, such that at least one analysis result is generated. The musculo-skeletal model is then updated to correspond with the at least one analysis result of the inverse dynamic analysis. Finally, the muscle activation of the updated musculo-skeletal model is optimized by determining at least one muscle force using the updated musculo-skeletal model, and by further updating the updated musculo-skeletal model to correspond with the determined at least one muscle force.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2013Publication date: January 1, 2015Inventors: Subham Sett, Victor George Oancea, Juan Antonio Hurtado, Manoj Kumar Mohanram Chinnakonda, Prabhav Saraswat, Jiang Yao

Patent number: 8923094Abstract: Method for using seismic data from earthquakes to address the low frequency lacuna problem in traditional hydrocarbon exploration methods. Seismometers with frequency response down to about 1 Hz are placed over a target subsurface region in an array with spacing suitable for hydrocarbon exploration (21). Data are collected over a long (weeks or months) time period (22). Segments of the data (44) are identified with known events from earthquake catalogs (43). Those data segments are analyzed using techniques such as traveltime delay measurements (307) or receiver function calculations (46) and then are combined with one or more other types of geophysical data acquired from the target region, using joint inversion (308-310) in some embodiments of the method, to infer physical features of the subsurface indicative of hydrocarbon potential or lack thereof (26).Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2009Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: ExxonMobil Upstream Research CompanyInventors: Charlie Jing, Jim J. Patent number: 8924187Abstract: The present disclosure describes tools and associated computational analysis methodologies employed therein for improved minimum weight design of thin wall profile members (TPMs). The tools draw on inter-dependent parameters relating to TPM cross-section dimensions ratio values and established constructive restrictions to calculate, using appropriate algorithmic computational analysis, the optimum cross-section dimensions values of a given TPM. A design selection serves as a blueprint for the next stage, which is the actual fabrication or manufacturing of the component. For a given set of constructive restrictions, the final product is based on optimum configurations selected from a fixed set of TPMs with varied cross-sectional shapes.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: Fair LLCInventor: Aleksandr I. Patent number: 8924190Abstract: A method including digitally modelling a temperature measured by a sensor by using a modeled signal and estimating a lag error signal for the sensor from the modeled signal and a signal obtained by filtering the modeled signal, the filter having as a parameter an estimate of a time constant of the sensor, and correcting the measurement signal delivered by the sensor by the estimated lag error signal. The time constant of the sensor is estimated as a function of time from the measurement signal and the modeled signal.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2009Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: SnecmaInventor: Cedrik Djelassi

Patent number: 8924328Abstract: An improved technique involves generating a predictive model for data storage system configuration management. A customer support center generates such a predictive model from detailed customer configuration and transaction history. For example, a population of customers submits transaction logs to the customer support center; such transaction logs provide details as to how the customers responded to various events. The population of customers may also submit data including various statistics such as load intensity, workload characteristics, data access patterns, data change patterns, and data fingerprints to the customer support center. The customer support center then performs an analysis on the data and, from the analysis, computes values of model parameters that define a predictive model. This predictive model is configured to take in a particular state of any data storage system and produce a configuration that optimizes performance of that data storage system.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2012Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Vitaly S.
