Transportation Facility Access (e.g., Fare, Toll, Parking) Patents (Class 705/13)
  • Patent number: 9240078
Abstract: Identifying a vehicle in a toll system includes accessing a set of toll transaction entries. Each entry in the set designates a toll transaction between a vehicle and the toll system and includes a transaction descriptor and a transaction time stamp. A series of toll transaction pictures is accessed. The series includes a plurality of pictures, each of which is associated with a picture time stamp. A toll transaction entry is identified from the set as a violation transaction entry based on the transaction descriptor. A toll transaction picture is selected from the series. The transaction time stamp of the violation transaction is compared, using a processing device, with the picture time stamp of the selected toll transaction picture. The selected toll transaction picture is identified as a violation picture corresponding to the violation transaction entry based on a result of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 9219669
Abstract: A processor accesses usage history data, which includes subscription events for a virtual machine, and generates translatable time periods to which the subscription events can be assigned. Each of the translatable time periods is temporally shifted and each of the subscription events is assigned to one or more translatable time periods. The processor generates translation outcomes for a user of the virtual machine for the translatable time periods in view of assigned subscription events. The translation outcomes include an identified change in subscription costs of the user over the translatable time periods. The processor identifies a translated base period from the translatable time periods for which the subscription parameters will be applied to the usage history data in view of applying selection criteria to the translation outcomes and tracks resource usage of the user in view of the identified translated base period to determine an alternate set of subscription costs.

Abstract: A system is disclosed for assessing roadway toll charges across a plurality of tolling agencies, for example a nation-wide system that allows use of a multi-protocol RFID tag that is recognized in a plurality of states having different tag protocols in their electronic tolling systems. In an embodiment, each tolling agency sets aside numbers associated with the national system. Where a tag is read that is not identified as part of the national system, the local agency processes the tag transaction. There a tag is read that is identified as part of the national system, regardless of which tolling agency reads it, the transaction information is sent to a national customer service center for processing.
