  • Patent number: 11386178
Abstract: A control center includes a display screen for displaying different social media and social media analytics. The control center includes an enhanced notification device that operates independently and remotely from the display screen. A media controller receives a selection of a search term, selection of an analytic, and selection of a trigger event for the analytic. The control center obtains social media from different networks containing the search term and generates the selected analytic from the social media. The media controller activates the enhanced notification device when the trigger event is detected in the analytic. The activated notification device provides a different environmental attribute than the display screen that is more effective in gaining the attention of the control center operators.

  • Patent number: 11363317
Abstract: An online system receives a request for a video to be presented by the online system to a target user. The online system determines whether to insert secondary content into the video. For such a determination, the online system identifies a position in the video for inserting secondary content. Further, the online system determines a loss score and a gain score. The loss score measures a loss of interaction by the target user if the secondary content were inserted. The gain score includes a monetary compensation to be received by the online system for inserting the secondary content at the identified position. The online system compares the loss score and the gain score. Based on the gain score offsetting the loss score, the online systems modifies the video by inserting the secondary content at the identified position and provides the modified video for display to the target user.

  • Patent number: 11010795
Abstract: A method and system is provided for facilitating affiliate link generation. A user enables the system by identifying a webpage on an affiliate web site. The system performs an initial assessment of the page to extract webpage information, which is compared to information stored in a database. If the extracted information matches stored information, a record of the webpage is displayed and an affiliate link is dynamically generated for immediate use. If the extracted information does not match stored information, a new record of the webpage is created. If the webpage contains product-specific data, a product-specific record is stored. If the webpage does not contain product-specific data, a non-product record is stored. An affiliate link is then dynamically created. The new record of the product and dynamically created affiliate link is added to the database for immediate use.

  • Patent number: 10948982
Abstract: An exemplary virtual reality media system assigns a plurality of display parameters to a three-dimensional (ā€œ3Dā€) virtual object that is to be integrated into an immersive virtual reality world. The plurality of display parameters define a time period during which the 3D virtual object is viewable within the world to a user experiencing the world, as well as a location, an orientation, and a size of the 3D virtual object as these appear to the user during the time period. The system integrates the 3D virtual object into the world in accordance with the display parameters and dynamically changes a display parameter during the time period to change the location, orientation, and/or size of the 3D virtual object. The system further integrates content into the world by presenting the content on the 3D virtual object while the display parameter is dynamically changing. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10410242
Abstract: A display of a computing device is updated to present an electronic user interface that provides a keyword entry control. Through the keyword entry control, keywords are received that are associated with an advertisement. Computer processors are used to determine whether keywords are overbroad in accordance with a ratio of a number of times that the keywords have been used in search queries provided by users to a click-through rate of other advertisements presented to the users responsive to the search queries. Low-performing keywords are identified from the overbroad keywords. At the display of the computing device, the electronic user interface is updated to present a visualization of a list of the low-performing keywords, and to provide a set of interactive controls. The set of one or more interactive controls includes a given control that removes a corresponding low-performing keyword from being associated with the advertisement.

  • Patent number: 10356168
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for improving long-term engagement with content feeds. During operation, the system identifies a cohort of users interacting with a content feed. Next, the system divides the cohort into two or more groups of users based on a change in a level of engagement of the users with the content feed. The system then determines, for each group of users in the two or more groups, a feed composition of the content feed for the group. The system also compares the feed composition across the two or more groups of users to identify a factor associated with the change in the level of engagement with the content feed. Finally, the system uses the factor to modulate a subsequent feed composition of the content feed to improve or optimize the long-term engagement with the content feed.
