Each product family definition specifies attribute names of a product family and, for each attribute name, a set of allowed attribute values. In order to specify a particular product variant, an entity may supply one of the allowed attribute values for each specified attribute name of the product. The product catalogs may be received from multiple business entities. Each product catalog may also be shared with multiple business entities. A merchant, for example, may select products from a product catalog to purchase from another merchant. When creating a product catalog, a business entity may reference product family definitions of other product catalogs.

Abstract: The present invention describes a system and method of managing digital content received from content providers and for facilitating access to the digital content to many subscribers. The method includes receiving from the content providers incoming feed files where each feed file contains information describing the content. The method determines if the feed files are approved by applying a template to the feed files and also receives request files from the subscribers where each request file contains search criteria. The method provides one or more answer files in response to the request files where each answer file identifies feed files that meet the search criteria of a corresponding request file. The answer files are used to access or permit access to digital content on the web. In addition, a graphical user interface is described to manage, edit, promote and delete the feed files provided to the system.

In one implementation, the AMSDB aggregates data records including search results, purchase transaction data, service usage data, service enrollment data, and social data. The AMSDB identifies data field types within the data records and their associated data values. From the data field types and their associated data values, the AMSDB identifies an entity. The AMSDB generates correlations of the entity to other entities identifiable from the data field types and their associated data values. The AMSDB also associates attributes to the entity by drawing inferences related to the entity from the data field types and their associated data values.
