Abstract: Improved methods for retrieval of content from CDNs is provided that includes a rendezvous controller that receives information of an identification of content being requested and an estimated location of a content requesting device. Based on this information, the rendezvous system identifies a server within a CDN from which the requested content may be retrieved. The selected server may be based on a repeatable hash function such that the likelihood that the content being requested is cached at the selected server. Steering requests to a server of the CDN which may have the content cached may reduce the number of servers within the CDN with the same cached content, particularly for the highest requested content. The rendezvous system may then return a corresponding domain name associated with the selected server and that can be subsequently submitted to a DNS for resolution to the IP address of the identified server.

Abstract: Systems and methods of a vehicle for sharing vehicle controls are provided. One example is a vehicle including a system for sharing vehicle system control of the vehicle with a passenger. The system uses an on-board computer and communications circuitry of the vehicle. The communications circuitry is configured to use a wireless network for accessing the Internet, and the on-board computer is configured to enable the communications circuitry to provide a wireless connection to a portable device of the passenger of the vehicle. The on-board computer has access to one or more vehicle sub-systems, and via the wireless connection, the on-board computer provides the portable device access to at least one graphical user interface. The graphical user interface includes input options that enable control of settings or functions of one or more of said vehicle sub-systems.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide systems and methods for hotels and rental property monitoring and protection. Cameras are oriented in non-private areas near entrances and exits of a property to be monitored. The cameras supply video feeds to a multi-layer analysis system powered by machine learning. The analysis system utilizes machine learning to perform identification of objects including people, animals, and/or other objects, identify moving track and patterns and recognize various behaviors based. Entrances and exits of rental properties are monitored to assess a current occupancy and guest and team behavior. In response to detecting a current occupancy exceeding a specific threshold or any other breach in the house rules and policies, disclosed embodiments can perform various actions including, but not limited to, notifying guests, notifying property managers, and/or other actions as appropriate.

Abstract: Various approaches allow for shared transportation reservations and related actions to be made based on a user's proximity to a shared transportation station. Data is received concerning the user's computing device, such as a vehicle, a mobile device, an internet-connected device, or a cellular network-connected device. Approaches can use a variety of data formats, including image data, location coordinates, or wirelessly-transmitted data. Based on such data and a criterion such as a threshold proximity to the station, the user's account status is determined and access to same authorized. Via the account, numerous actions may be taken, including automatically triggering a transport mode reservation or return, prompting the user to reserve or return the shared transportation, or debiting the user per a fee associated with the transportation reservation. Further, neural network techniques may be applied to train a model for generating related recommendations.

Abstract: A computer system includes physical memory devices of different types that store randomly-accessible data in a main memory of the computer system. In one approach, data is stored in memory at one or more logical addresses allocated to an application by an operating system. The data is physically stored in a first memory device of a first memory type (e.g., NVRAM). The operating system determines an access pattern for the stored data. In response to determining the access pattern, the data is moved from the first memory device to a second memory device of a different memory type (e.g., DRAM).

Abstract: Techniques for estimating a vehicle state of charge (“SoC”) are disclosed. A computing device may determine a first instance of connectivity between the computing device and an electric vehicle and determine a first location of the computing device associated with the first instance of connectivity. The computing device may detect completion of a first trip of the electric vehicle, wherein the first trip reflects movement of the electric vehicle from the first location to a second location, and determine a first distance traveled by the electric vehicle during the first trip based on the first location and the second location. The computing device may select the electric vehicle for charging using the determined first instance of connectivity between the computing device and the electric vehicle, estimate a SoC of the selected electric vehicle using the determined first distance, and transmit the estimated SoC to a charging station.

In addition, the device may identify at least one potential courier capable of transporting the product. Based on the fulfillment time, the delivery time, the geographic location for delivery, and at least one courier characteristic associated with the potential courier, the device may select a particular product location and a particular courier and perform an action based on the particular product location or the particular courier.

Abstract: A seating reservation system running on a network server has functionality that can be trained to detect information relating to individual seats, their locations, and different seating types in a new or modified seating plan loaded into the system. This detected seating information can be maintained in seating plan files that can be edited to include metadata. Upon request, by a client application running under control a user, portions or all of the information in a seating plan file can be transferred as a web page to the client application for display and interaction with by the client application user for the purpose of completing a seat reservation process.

The present disclosure solves the problem existed in the method for controlling an electric scooter in the related art that the electric scooter is easily used by others when the electric scooter is temporarily stopped using.
