Checkbook Balancing, Updating Or Printing Arrangement Patents (Class 705/33)
  • Patent number: 8175943
Abstract: A system and method for reconciling financial records is provided. Breaks are screened by user defined rules to categorize breaks into categories of relatively higher and relatively lower importance so that relatively higher importance breaks can be presented to the user. Values from a custodian system can be automatically accepted. Certain types of transaction differences may be selected to be automatically corrected. The types of corrections to be applied are selected. The financial account reconciliation system is updated with the values. For investments that are not reported as trades once the order to purchase has been placed, outstanding trade orders may be matched to unmatched transactions. For updates sent for an older transaction, back-dated transactions may be compared by automatically loading historical transactions and comparing historical transactions to a back-dated transaction as if it were not backdated.

  • Patent number: 7650300
Abstract: The present invention is a system for providing businesses with comprehensive gas book management capabilities, inclusive of a process for authorizing and tracking gas book expenditures, as well as software for accounting, reconciling and reporting. An overseer runs the software and enters pertinent Request data into a database. The software prints two hard copies of the gas Purchase Order each bearing a unique auto-generated Purchase Order number. One copy is given to the requestor, and one is filed. When purchasing gas, the Requestor exchanges their Purchase Order with a receipt for gas. The requestor returns this receipt to the overseer, who enters pertinent Receipt data into the database. This allows the business to periodically reconcile the database against charge statements received from credit card issuers or gas stations, better manage gas usage, and identify fraud, excessive gas spending, and charge mistakes.

  • Patent number: 7047222
Abstract: Pure random numbers from a sheet within a one-time pad are employed to encrypt the bytes of a source data packet and to order the encrypted bytes in a random order within the encrypted data packet. Pure random numbers fill remaining positions within the encrypted data packet. The resulting encrypted data packet is unconditionally secure (i.e., unbreakable). Sheets within the one-time pad are utilized only once, and the one-time pad is replaced when exhausted. For electronic checking applications, the one-time pad is distributed to the user stored in an electronic checkbook, with a copy retained by the bank. For cellular telephone applications, the one-time pad is stored in a replaceable memory chip within the mobile unit with a copy retained at a single, secured central computer. For client-server applications or applications involving sales over the Internet, the one-time pad may be provided to the user on a floppy disk or CD-ROM, with a copy retained by the vendor.
