Abstract: The document applies to the field of information processing, and provides a method and device for acquiring product information, and a computer storage medium. The method includes that: original comment information of a user relevant to a product is collected from a public platform; the collected original information is filtered; the filtered information is analyzed and information on relevance to the product is acquired; and information on user feedback on the product is acquired by classifying and then counting and analyzing the acquired information on relevance. With what is described here, a problem in acquiring, by related art, information on user feedback on a product, such as high cost, low efficiency, platform bias, and failure to acquire quantitative data for high accuracy and the like, may be solved effectively.

Abstract: Items—including gourmet products—are evaluated and rated by participants in a controlled event, which can be coordinated by software locally or at a dedicated website. Event data, including item scores and participant scores can be shared with vendors, merchants and other commercial entities associated with the products. Promotional incentives from such entities for the products (and related products) can then be directly targeted and provided to participants and other members of the public. The participant's activities can also be collected and disseminated to affiliates/friends of the participants through social networking sites, personalized web pages, etc.

A system may be configured to receive a user rating of a topic from a client device, wherein the user rating is associated with a user, increment a count associated with the user in response to receiving the user rating of the topic, and determine whether the count exceeds a threshold. If the count exceeds the threshold, the system may generate a plurality of recommendations for the user based on the user rating of the topic and provide a subset of the plurality of recommendations for the user.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer readable storage medium to implement a cosmetic product data warehouse and rating system. Cosmetic products can be analyzed by a laboratory for their chemical contents and such data can be stored on a secure computer database. A certification authority can retrieve the contents and perform computations on them to determine a numerical score indicating a desirability of the cosmetic product in view of a particular condition. The scores can then be distributed publicly by placing them on labels on bottles of cosmetic products and/or distributed to shoppers on an electronic database.

Abstract: The present invention provides a peer-to-peer (P2P) network for providing real time media recommendations. The P2P network includes a central server interconnecting a number of peer devices. In operation, a proxy function of the central server receives media recommendations from one or more peer devices that are active and online as media presentations identified by the media recommendations are played by the peer devices. The one or more peer devices are included in a group of peer devices associated with a first peer device. The proxy function provides the media recommendations to the first peer device. An augmentation function of the central server monitors a recommendation level of the first peer device. If the recommendation level falls below a minimum recommendation level, the augmentation function augments the media recommendations provided to the first peer device to increase the recommendation level to or above the minimum recommendation level.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a custom score generation system by offering third parties access to data from a shared database that they can merge with their own proprietary data for the purpose of defining and producing new data services. The system provides interfaces for selecting data elements from the shared database, attributing weights to the selected data elements, and defining scoring rules or parameters to automatically evaluate the significance of the data element values. Additionally, conditions may be specified to include different sets of the selected data elements, to attribute different weights to the different sets of the selected data elements, and to define different scoring rules according to which conditions are satisfied. The system then automatically formulates the algorithm to produce the custom score in conformance with the provided inputs and based on values for the selected data elements that are specific to different entities.

Abstract: Systems and associated processes for guiding users to provide more useful reviews are described. These systems and processes can provide guided reviews in certain embodiments by presenting questions to a user in the form of an interview. The questions can be relevant to the item being reviewed, and as such, may be specifically and dynamically selected based on the particular item under consideration. Many other criteria may be used to select the types of questions presented to users, examples of which will be described below. Presenting review questions to users can have the effect of reducing or eliminating the “blank page” effect of having to write a review from scratch, with no guidance. Accordingly, review questions can potentially elicit more thorough and useful feedback than existing review systems in some embodiments.

Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing energy usage are provided. In various embodiments, the systems and methods may receive weather information for a first set of geographical locations and correlate the weather information with energy demand information and economic information to generate one or more models indicating at least one energy usage pattern for a geographical location of interest based at least in part on the correlation of the weather information, the energy demand information, and the economic information.
