  • Patent number: 11142306
Abstract: A method is provided for adding available takeoff and landing slots when aircraft designed for long haul flight are moved quietly and efficiently on the ground without operation of aircraft engines at airports with slot controls and airports that are constrained from operation at certain times by curfews that limit operating hours for these long haul aircraft. Long haul aircraft are powered and driven by onboard non-engine drive means or moved manually or automatically by tugs, tow vehicles, or other transfer apparatus to arrive at a runway before expiration of a morning curfew and to be ready for takeoff as soon as curfew is lifted. Long haul aircraft may land immediately before an evening curfew starts and to move without engines to an airport arrival location after evening curfew starts, effectively expanding and increasing the number of available takeoff and landing slots for long haul aircraft.

  • Patent number: 11107019
Abstract: A system can arrange a transport service for a rider. The system can receive, from a first computing device of a first rider, a request for a transport service. The request can include a first pickup location and a first destination location. Based on the first pickup location and the first destination location, the system can determine a plurality of candidate drivers that are each currently assigned to provide a transport service for a respective rider. The system can perform a selection process to select a driver from the plurality of candidate drivers by, for each candidate driver, determining a set of possible travel sequences in which that candidate driver can provide both the transport service for the respective rider and the transport service for the first rider and computing a score for each possible travel sequence.

Abstract: Optimizing customer lifetime value (LTV) techniques are described. In one or more implementations, a simulator is configured to derive a prediction model based on data indicative of user interaction online with marketing offers. The prediction model may be produced by automatically classifying variables according to feature types and matching each feature type to a response function that defines how the variable responds to input actions. The classification of variables and/or corresponding response functions per the prediction model may consider dependencies between variables and dependencies between successive states. An evaluator may then be invoked to apply the prediction model to test a proposed marketing strategy offline. Application of the prediction model is designed to predict user response to simulated offers/actions and enable evaluation of marketing strategies with respect to one or more long-term objectives.

Abstract: A method executed by a computing device includes receiving a search criteria and location data from a user device in communication with the computing device, determining a user location based on the location data, and determining a geographical density of entities about the user location. The method optionally includes selecting one or more access mechanisms based on the search criteria and the geographical density. Each access mechanism, when executed by the user device, causes the user device to access a resource identified by the access mechanism. The method also optionally includes transmitting search results containing the one or more selected access mechanisms from the computing device to the user device.

  • Patent number: 10417584
Abstract: A system and method are provided which obtain a travel itinerary for a user, the itinerary identifying a trip, including a scheduled flight to a destination. A scheduled flight is monitored to detect when the scheduled flight arrives at the destination. Upon the scheduled flight arriving at an airport of the destination, one or more notifications are sent to a mobile computing device of the user. Information can be provided with the notifications for an on-demand ground transportation service. The information may include a location at the airport where the user can be picked up in connection with receiving the on-demand transportation service, and a timing indicator to indicate when the user should make a request to receive the on-demand transportation service based on a real-time determination of a number of available service providers in a vicinity of the airport.

  • Patent number: 10359291
Abstract: This disclosure relates a processor determining a network map of a transport network by. The processor optimises for each of multiple sets of nodes a travel cost of trips with a start node and an end node in that set. This way, the processor selects from each of the multiple sets one node as a hub. The travel cost is based on whether the start node or end node is the hub. The processor then optimises for each node a direct travel time between that node and a hub to select an optimised hub for that node. Finally, the processor determines a network map comprising the selected hubs connected by a first transport mode and the remaining nodes connected to the selected hub by a second transport mode. Passengers need to change less often at the hub because the hub is placed at the most popular destination or origin.

Abstract: Techniques for monitoring performance of a computer system are provided. Bucket data is stored that indicates that multiple buckets are associated with a particular type of request. Then, multiple requests are received, where a first request and a second request indicate the same type of request. Based on the bucket data, the first request is assigned to a first bucket and the second request is assigned to a second bucket. The assignment may be further based on a complexity determined for each request. First performance data is generated while processing the first request and is aggregated with second performance data that was generated while processing one or more third requests that are assigned to the first bucket. Third performance data is generated while processing the second request and aggregated with fourth performance data that was generated while processing one or more fourth requests that are assigned to the second bucket.
