Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include methods, systems, and storage mediums for implementing issue notification and resolution activities. The method includes receiving a request for access to a network service from a user associated with an account that has been flagged as having an issue. The method also includes redirecting the request for access, transmitting a notification of the issue and instructions for resolving the issue to the user, and deferring further access to network services without terminating the account pending a resolution of the issue.

Abstract: A method and system to allowing a user to maintain the privacy of his or her telephone number. The method and system provide a way in which another party may transmit data to the mobile telephone of the user without knowing the phone number associated with the destination mobile telephone. In addition, the method and system provide a way for the user to transmit data from his or her mobile telephone without revealing the phone number associated with the mobile telephone.

Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering coordinated notifications to a user. Each entity that is involved in a transaction with a user generates notifications to update the user about the status of the transaction. The notifications are sent to a notification interface that is accessible by each entity. The notification interface sends the notifications to a router that delivers the notifications to the user according to user preferences, notification status, and user online status. The notifications each contain an identifier that enables them to be coordinated and delivered to the appropriate user.

Abstract: A mobile device includes an antenna and at least one control device coupled to the antenna. The at least one control device is selectively operable in a first mode and in a second mode. In the first mode, the at least one control device transmits a payment card account number via the antenna to a point of sale terminal. In the second mode, the at least one control device transmits a message to the point of sale terminal via the antenna to request that the point of sale terminal download transaction information to the mobile device.

Abstract: The invention is a method for using a payment and inspection service to purchase merchandise on an online sale website. A buyer or seller can select using a payment and inspection service. The buyer pays the payment and inspection service, which holds the payment. The seller ships the item to a store where the payment and inspection service is located. The buyer goes to the store and while being monitored by an agent or employee of the service, the buyer inspects the merchandise. If the buyer accepts the item, he leaves the store with the item and the service releases the payment to the seller. If the buyer does not want to accept the item, he rejects the item, which is then repacked and returned to the seller, and the service returns the payment, less cost of shipping the item back to the seller, to the buyer.

Abstract: E-commerce which may include delivery of a good ordered or purchased over a network (e.g., the Internet) to a purchaser/user, and/or arranging for electronic payment of the good is accomplished while securing private and personal information of purchasers/users, which may include the user's identity and address(and those of the user's computer), and financial information. Proxy software is provided for user computers, one or more proxy computers, or both, for users to communicate with vendors anonymously over the network, provide for delivery of an ordered good and provide for electronic payment, while securing the user's private information. The proxy software provides for a proxy party to deal with a vendor and arrange payment from a bank or credit card company to the vendor based on an account that the proxy party has with the bank. The proxy party is not required where the purchaser/user is provided with a transaction identity that masks the true identity of the purchaser.

Abstract: A method and device enables tokenless authorization of an electronic payment between a payor and a payee using an electronic identicator and a one payor bid biometric sample. The payor registers with a registration biometric sample, and a payor financial account identifier. The payee registers a payee identification data with the electronic identicator. A payee bid identification data and a payor bid biometric sample are electronically forwarded to the identicator. The bid biometric sample is compared with registered biometric samples and the payee's bid identification data is compared with a payee's registered identification data for a successful or failed identifications of the payor and payee. If the identicator successfully identifies the payor and payee, the identicator electronically forwards a payor financial account identifier to the payee. An electronic financial transaction is then formed comprising a transaction amount and a payor financial account identifier.

The method involves embedding in the computer readable content, instruction codes operable to direct a processor circuit to automatically establish a connection to a server, when the content is in use by the processor circuit, to transmit registration information to the server and operable to control further use of the content by the processor circuit in response to a key received from the server.

Abstract: An embodiment of the invention includes a secure server. A user at a terminal, communicatively coupled to the secure server by a secure link, can obtain web pages from web sites in a network, in encrypted form, via the secure link. Addresses associated with the web pages are altered to make it appear as if the web pages come from the secure server rather than from the web sites. Spoofing units may be used as alternative access points to the secure server, with the secure server sending the requested web pages directly to the terminal. In general, address rewriting and other manipulation can be performed on the requested web pages, such that the true sources of the web pages are disguised and such that subsequent communications from the terminal are directed to the secure server and/or spoofing unit, rather than to the true source of the web pages. Components of the user's privacy may be sold, or advertisements may be provided, in exchange for protection of the user's identity.

Abstract: A method of automatically classifying alerts issued by intrusion detection sensors (11a, 11b, 11c) of an information security system (1) for producing collated alerts, each alert being defined by a plurality of qualitative attributes (a1, . . . , an) belonging to a plurality of attribute domains (A1, . . . , An). Attributes belonging to each attribute domain are organized into a hierarchical structure. For each alert issued by the intrusion detection sensors (11a, 11b, 11c), a trellis specific to that alert is constructed by generalizing each alert in accordance with each of its attributes and at all the levels of the hierarchical structure. Each specific trellis is iteratively merged into a general trellis. Collated alerts in the general trellis are identified by selecting the alerts that are simultaneously the most pertinent and the most general. The collated alerts are supplied to an output unit (23) of an alert management system (13).

Abstract: A method for financing multimedia content through advertising includes playing back advertising blocks between uses of the content so to finance use of the content by the advertising. Code elements of a key are embedded in predefined locations in the advertising blocks, the key being configured for decryption of the content that follows. The embedded code elements are scanned and collected during the playback of the advertising blocks. The code elements are linked schematically to form the key. The content is encrypted using the key so that a use of the content depends on at least one of a subset of the code elements determined by the advertiser and the key.

Abstract: A system that communicates information is described. During operation, this system receives an encryption key through a first wireless communication technique, wherein the first wireless communication technique includes near field communication. Then, the system communicates a document through a second wireless communication technique, where the document is associated with a financial transaction being conducted with a commercial establishment. Next, the system receives encrypted information through the second wireless communication technique, where the encrypted information is, at least in part, encrypted using the encryption key, and where the second wireless communication technique includes a technique other than near field communication.

Abstract: A method and system for enabling electronic delivery of files is disclosed. The method and system include maintaining a data repository for storing information relating to the files available in the digital marketplace, wherein the information includes business rules associated with each file that define electronic transfer of the files during commercial transactions. In response to a first user requesting to resell a particular file and thereby becoming a reseller, the data repository is accessed to dynamically generate a reseller uniform resource locator (RURL) that uniquely identifies the reseller and the file. The RURL is then provided to the reseller for posting on a website in order to make the file commercially available to others on the website.

Abstract: Controlling access to secure data and services by versatile computers outside a secure environment, which communicates with limited dedicated devices such as game consoles, over a secure network such as a virtual private network. The versatile computing devices obtain access over an insecure network, such as the Internet, through a trusted partner Web site that authenticates users of the site and relays requests to the secure environment. The Web site uses a certificate for a predefined level of secure access to the secure environment. A link is established between a user's Web ID authenticated by the Web site and a gamer tag used within the secure environment. Access is limited as a function of the Web ID, gamer tag, and a Web site partner ID. A Web cache stores and provides some secure data, minimizing disruption to the secure environment's primary function to service the dedicated devices.

Abstract: There is provided a method for a client to authorize an automated clearance house (ACH) transaction comprising the steps of providing an online web interface on a financial services provider network, allowing a client to securely access the online web interface via a client computer having a web browser application, permitting the client to input set-up and authorization information and criteria via the client computer, accepting and acknowledging the client set-up and authorization information and criteria, and executing an authorized ACH transaction based on the client inputted set-up and authorization information and criteria to electronically transfer client funds between one or more client accounts at a third party financial institution and financial service provider. The authorized ACH transactions can be a recurring, non-recurring or one-time ACH transactions, and in particular ACH-in transaction.

Abstract: The invention relates to a secure wireless authorization system by which a user can employ a wireless device to authorize a request that is initiated by a remote third party and transmitted to the user by an authorization server. The system includes the authorization server that is linked to the third party by way of a communications connection and a wireless device that is adapted to securely store an encryption scheme and create a secure authorization from the user in response to the third party request and has the ability to establish a secure wireless connection over which the secure authorization is transmitted from the user's wireless device to the authorization server. Pre-authorization, real-time authorization and post-authorization methods are disclosed by which user authorized transactions can be completed by way of the authorization system of this invention.

The elements of suitability involve income, financial obligations, assets, health, family, insurance coverage, and personal goals.

Abstract: A third-party gift registry system is disclosed. The system provides consumers access to at least one third-party gift registry. The at least one third-party gift registry includes a listing of gifts selected by a registrant at least one merchant. The system receives a gift selection from a consumer for a gift listed in a first third-party gift registry. A payment may then be received from the consumer at an agent location for the gift selection. The system then transfers at least a portion of the payment for the gift selection to the third-party merchant.

Abstract: By providing user interface functionality on a banner served on a webpage hosted by a third party, it is possible to carry out a secure transaction without the user leaving the banner. This is achieved by providing content and transaction middleware which co-operates with a served banner to, in the first instance provide a customised advertising banner and then subsequently to provide user interfaces which allow payment and personal details to be retrieved and to provide confirmation of a purchase. The banner may be served over a mobile device and may also be served overlayed onto moving video on the webpage. This provides a much better user experience and also provides better likelihood of converted sales from banner advertising.

The one or more servers verify that the first set of attribute values matches, at least in part, a second set of attribute values maintained by the second party, the second set of attribute values being associated with the one or more products that are the subject of the electronic commerce transaction between the first party and the second party.

Abstract: A user, in requesting a service provider to provide predetermined service, sends to a service provider data and signature data created based upon the data. The service provider calculates a fee based upon this data and requests a bank to collect the fee from the user. The bank informs the user of the fee requested from the service provider. When the user protests the amount of the fee, the service provider discloses the data and signature data received from the user to the bank and when the bank judges based upon this signature data that this data is valid, it calculates a proper fee based upon this data and collects it from the user. As described above, it is enabled to collect a proper fee for service.

A line of credit is extended in a conventional bank deposit account with checking option. When a check payable from such an account is presented, it is processed as a debit transaction if the funds are available from the deposits, and as a credit if it is paid from the line of credit. A debit-cum-credit card is also issued and processed through the payment system networks in the same way as above. A merchant discount is levied in each case, which may be higher in credit and lower in debit. A different level of reward incentive linked to each payment may then be awarded to the consumer, funded from the savings in processing each transaction.

Abstract: A system and method provides secure access over public communication lines using encrypted information on a removable, portable storage medium. Information relating to a customer's financial account is encrypted and stored to a disk. When a customer desires to purchase goods and/or services on-line or access his financial account, he inserts the CD into a disk drive of a personal computer. The encrypted information is retrieved from the disk and transmitted, via public communications lines, to a computer maintaining a Web site for providing the requested goods and/or services. The computer then forwards the encrypted information to a secure network. A processor on the secure network processes the customer's request, and denies or approves the transaction based on the received information. The results of such processing are returned to the computer maintaining the Web site for completing or aborting the transaction.

Abstract: Systems and methods are defined for facilitating the audit process involving a financial institution, a client of the financial institution, and an accountant. A service provider receives the client's account information from the financial institution upon approval of the client. The financial institution also provides an identification number allowing the accountant to access the information deposited in the service provider. The accountant is provided the identification number in one of a variety of ways allowing the accountant to access the client's information to facilitate an audit process. In this manner, an audit process can be facilitated and reduce the sending of paper copies from the financial institution to the accountant.

Information is reported about each network device connected to the network and/or one or more corresponding users. The reported information is correlated to determine if any unauthorized devices are connected to the network. To report the desired information, each device authorized to use the network may be provided with an agent configured to report information about the device to which it corresponds and information about one or more neighboring devices. A “reporting your neighbor” method may be used wherein each network device report its address and the address of its neighbors may be used to determine if any device is not reporting its address. Alternatively, each agent may report information about its device's physical location, e.g., by global positioning satellite (GPS). A door badge system may be used to provide user location information.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for conducting electronic commerce such as a virtual purchase transaction with an on-line merchant. A user is provided with an intelligent token, such as a smart card containing a digital certificate. The intelligent token suitably authenticates with a wallet server on a network that conducts all or portions of the transaction on behalf of the user with out requiring changes to the merchant's server. The wallet server interacts with a security server of a selected financial service to provide authentication of the transaction. Upon authentication, the digital wallet pre-fills forms which are transmitted to the merchant who contacts the security server for validation of the forms and upon validation, completes the transaction with the user.

The method, the computer system, and the computer readable medium include developing and transmitting views of the multi-party agreement by each party to a separate verification party. The verification party authenticates the participants and determines whether the views of the agreement are mutually consistent, and notifies the partys of the results of the comparison.

Abstract: An online machine data collection and archiving process generates a machine data profile of a customer computer accessing a transaction form of a merchant web site and links the machine data profile and a transaction record with customer identifying information using a unique transaction identification string. The process preferably captures parameters typically communicated as a part of web accesses, such as an IP address, an HTTP header, and cookie information. The process additionally causes the customer computer to process self-identification routines by processing coding within the merchant transaction form, the self-identification routines yielding further profile parameters. The process further includes a routine for bypassing an intervening proxy to the merchant web site to reveal the true IP address of the customer computer.

Abstract: An online card-present transaction system facilitates card-present type transactions with a merchant over a public network. A host system is configured to accept authentication data from a user via an authentication device. The host system, after authenticating a user is configured to retrieve the user's account information from a user database system and translate a user account number into a temporary transaction number. The temporary transaction number is then transmitted directly from the host system to the merchant, thereby eliminating the need for the user to send to the merchant over the internet, the user's transaction account number.

Abstract: An identity based service system is provided, in which an identity is created and managed for a user or principal, such that at least a portion of the identity is available to use between one or more system entities. A discovery service enables a system entity to discover a service descriptor, given a service name and a name identifier of the user, whereby system entities can find and invoke the user's other personal web services. The discovery service preferably provides a translation between a plurality of namespaces, to prevent linkable identity information over time between system entities.

The voice prints are context-specific to likely responses to voice prompts from an interactive voice response (IVR) system. The voice prompts are communicated from the IVR to the wireless telephone. The voice selection is analyzed to determine a corresponding selection ID, and a voice print is retrieved from the storage location corresponding to the selection ID and to an ID of the wireless telephone.

A control unit 13 is provided for generating in its basic data generator 13B basic data for imposing the payment from at least data indicative of the user identification and data indicative of the speed for recording the data read out from the optical disk 15 into the hard disk 16 and transmitting the basic data to the payment imposing unit 20. The payment imposing unit 20 performs the imposing of the payment according to the basic data received from the control unit 13 and transmits data indicative of the completion of imposing the payment to the control unit 13. In response to the data indicative of the completion of the payment, the control unit 13 directs the high-speed dubbing unit 10 to start recording the data read out from the optical disk 15 into the hard disk 16.
