In one such embodiment, data sets containing sensitive data elements are analyzed using aliases representing sensitive data elements. In another embodiment, the sensitive data elements are stored in an encrypted form for use from a secure access, while the alias is available for standard access.

Abstract: A system may create work units, each work unit including at least one of an input port or output port, each work unit configured to modify data that is received via the input port. A network is searched for materials associated with a user and content analysis techniques are performed on the associated materials to extract one or more characteristics from the associated materials based on predefined criteria. The extracted information is stored in an entity relationship model that relates the user to the extracted characteristics. The characteristics may include activity information, expertise information and location information. The entity relationship model can thereafter be searched to identify and optionally contact one or more users having desired characteristics.

Abstract: A method for information service identification during service modeling of a service oriented architecture (SOA) architected computing system includes loading a business process defined by different business services in memory of a service modeling tool executing in a host computing platform. The method further includes identifying different information elements directed for access by the business services and determining a set of information transactions for the identified different information elements. The method yet further includes generalizing the set of information transactions into a candidate list of information services. The method even yet further includes selecting from amongst the candidate list a selection of information services for incorporation into the business process. Finally, the method includes refining the business services of the business process to invoke the selection of information services to access the identified different information elements.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method includes determining the importance of a particular database transaction and storing an index name related to the transaction along with an indicator of the importance. A database transaction is initiated and the importance indicator is received in an index advisor. The index advisor then makes an index recommendation based on the index importance.

Abstract: Techniques for rating and committing events in an event processing system are provided. Events can be rated at a rating system according to information that is stored locally on the rating system. Rated events can be stored in a database system with these rated events being utilized to, among other things, restore information that is stored locally on the rating system.

Abstract: A system and method for processing partially unstructured data relating to a financial security. The system and method resolve first- and second-identifying data from the partially unstructured data and determine whether a security is defined by the first-identifying data and the second-identifying data. Additionally, the system and method resolve trade information relating to the security identifier from the partially unstructured data. If a security is defined by the resolved identifying data, a security identifier representing the defined security, along with the trade information relating to the defined security, are output.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer readable media are disclosed for a localized gesture aggregation. In a system where user movement is captured by a capture device to provide gesture input to the system, demographic information regarding users as well as data corresponding to how those users respectively make various gestures is gathered. When a new user begins to use the system, his demographic information is analyzed to determine a most likely way that he will attempt to make or find it easy to make a given gesture. That most likely way is then used to process the new user's gesture input.

Abstract: Exposing functionality from a line of business application as a web service. A method includes receiving user input requesting information about objects exposed by a line of business application. Metadata is gathered about a first set of objects exposed by the line of business application. The metadata is returned to the user. User input is received selecting a second set of objects from among the first set of objects to be exposed as a web service. A web service model is constructed that exposes the second set of objects. The web service model includes a service description, metadata map, and configuration information. The web service model is published to allow for web service clients to access the second set of objects by accessing the web service model. The web service can then be used to translate messages between a line of business application and one or more web service clients.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer products for generating calculation context classes from a relationship between structured data and a calculation procedure, the context classes having parent-child relationships. Abstract: A method and a device transport a postal object to an incompletely specified destination address. The object has at least one information item relating to a destination address to which the object is to be transported. A set of address components is predetermined. An address database is used which in each case contains a computer-available record per destination address for a set of possible destination addresses. Each record contains in each case one entry for each predetermined address component. At least one destination address information item on the object is detected. A screen form is used which contains in each case one input field for each address component. The detected destination address information is compared with the records of the address database. When exactly one record is consistent with all detected destination address information items, a transportation of the object to the destination address of the record is triggered.

A method of embodiments includes generating, at a first computing system, configuration settings to customize business rules to process data transactions. The business rules are processed by a business rules engine at a second computing system. The method includes customizing one or more business rules by applying one or more configuration settings to the one or more business rules, and facilitating the business rules engine residing on the second computing system to process one or more data transactions based on the one or more customized business rules. The multiple component transactions that comprise a single extended transaction may, in combination, perform a single computation. An embodiment of a method for dependency processing of computer files includes receiving a data stream input at a scanner component, where the data stream input represents multiple computer files. The data stream input is scanned for data types, where scanning the data stream input includes encountering a definition of a data type; determining whether to process program elements within the data type, and, if there is a determination to process the program elements in the data type, scanning the program elements of the data type to identify usages of the data type. Abstract: A method for searching across instant message systems and an interconnecting server are disclosed in the present invention. The method includes: searching in a SIMPLE IM system by a WV-IMPS user, and searching in a WV-IMPS system by a SIMPLE IM user. The interconnecting server includes a message input/output module and a message processing and converting module. The technical solution of the present invention seamlessly connects the search services of the WV-IMPS instant message system and the SIMPLE instant message system, and thus solves the problem on interconnecting search functions between different types of instant message systems.

Abstract: A system and method for providing transactional data privacy while maintaining data usability, including the use of different obfuscation functions for different data types to securely obfuscate the data, in real-time, while maintaining its statistical characteristics. In accordance with an embodiment, the system comprises an obfuscation process that captures data while it is being received in the form of data changes at a first or source system, selects one or more obfuscation techniques to be used with the data according to the type of data captured, and obfuscates the data, using the selected one or more obfuscation techniques, to create an obfuscated data, for use in generating a trail file containing the obfuscated data, or applying the data changes to a target or second system.

Abstract: A database-driven software application may be provided that is configured to keep a record of mainframe activity for various financial transactions and provide relationships between various transactional features. The information of these financial transactions may originate from a single system in a single data format or may be integrated into a single consistent format from a plurality of systems in a plurality of formats. Such an application may enable the reporting of anomalous events and/or the review of activities conducted by a financial associate (e.g., an employee of the financial institution) and/or those impacting a specific customer or account. The system may operate by parsing daily feeds of raw mainframe logs and extracting relevant details and placing information about each transaction in a data warehouse.

Abstract: Queries to obtain data from an OLAP cube for a structured report are consolidated. Queries to retrieve data from an OLAP cube for a structured report are consolidated into a single query. Using the consolidated query reduces the number of database hits; avoids reconstruction of the report from the results of the individual queries; and eases the exporting of the report to other applications. Instead of querying the OLAP cube multiple times, a single query is used to obtain the desired information from the cube. Each access definition within the structured report is examined to determine all of the data to be retrieved from the OLAP cube.

Abstract: Approaches for recovering a node of a distributed transactional system. When a recovering node is being brought on-line, a copy of at least a portion of a first data store maintained by an existing node is created without ceasing to process transactions against the first data store at the existing node. The recovering node creates a second data store based on the copy of the first data store. While the recovering node creates the second data store, the recovering node stores committed transaction data received from a plurality of nodes. The committed transaction data describes transactions committed against data stores maintained by the sender of the committed transaction data. The recovering node may thereafter replay, against the second data store, any transactions identified by the committed transaction data that are associated with a global transaction number that is more recent than is a reference commit number.

Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method for interfacing an application to a distributed transaction coordinator includes receiving a distributed transaction request from an application in a first runtime environment. In response to the request, the application is enlisted with a distributed transaction coordinator in a second runtime environment. The first runtime environment is at least partially distinct from the second runtime environment. A transaction identifier is received from the distributed transaction coordinator. A first resource manager is invoked to enlist in the distributed transaction using the transaction identifier and a second resource manager is invoked to enlist in the distributed transaction using the transaction identifier.

Abstract: Some demonstrative embodiments of the invention relate to a method, device and system of database security. Abstract: Simplified XPath evaluation in Extensible Markup Language (XML) document validation. XML schema is compiled into a one dimensional array of schema nodes, where a schema node represents a complex/simple type definition in the XML scheme. Identity constraints are processed during compilation and Xpath expressions within these constraints are extracted and parsed. Further, these Xpath expressions are evaluated at compilation time to identify the schema nodes corresponding to the XML nodes referred in the identity constraints. The identity constraints are then enforced at runtime without the need to evaluate the Xpath expressions at the runtime.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for parallel processing of assigned table partitions. In general, a group of data may be received and at least a portion of the data may be caused to be assigned to an application server to process the data based at least in part on the application server and the at least a portion of the data being assigned to a same segment. A segment may represent one or more partitions of data of a database, such as a multidimensional database or a flat database. The data that is processed may be payment items that are processed as part of payment order processing by a payment engine.

Abstract: Particular embodiments store multidimensional block data using a value-bit format. A block of data is determined that includes a first dimension and a second dimension. The occurrences of unique values in the block of data is then determined. If the number of unique values does not violate a threshold, a value-bit format may be used instead of storing the data in a fully-exploded array. In this case, the value for the unique values is stored with an indication of where the unique values occur in the block of data. When a request for a value at an index position in the array is received, the value-bit format is used to retrieve the value requested. A bit that indicates the value that is associated with the index position in the array is determined and that value is returned.

Abstract: A system and method provide content review, distribution, ranking and access and automate creation and performance of contests among sets of content-based contestants. The system and method provide customizable interactive, ongoing, multi-level, multi-round contests with expert review of and filtered submission of content-based contestants. Among other advantages, providers may use the system and method to obtain expert and consumer review and ranking of their content.

Abstract: A server system suitable for processing transactions includes transaction processing means to process requests issued by client systems. A transaction profiler records information regarding transactions processed by the server. Profiled transactions are selected for inclusion in a cumulative database according to a selection criteria. The transaction processor may be an HTTP server, a file server, or a database server. The profiler may be enabled by the processing means just before processing a request and disabled upon completion. In one embodiment, the transaction profiler is configured to calculate a transaction response time as the difference between the time the transaction processing means enables the profiling means and the time the transaction processing means disables the profiling means.

Abstract: A method for handling asynchronous database transactions in a web based environment is disclosed. The method comprise providing a first ID from a device via a dedicated persistent connection and generating a second ID in an application server upon receipt of the first ID. The method also include utilizing the first ID and second ID to obtain the appropriate data from a database system and to send the appropriate data to the device. A method in accordance with the present invention uses a database resource adapter, which runs inside an application server, to generate a socket ID internally for every input transaction running with the dedicated persistent socket connection and also saves the customer-specified client ID for database queue creation and legacy application. This operation is transparent to the customers' client application.

The database may include data associated with a plurality of operational systems for information handling systems that have been deployed. The interface may be configured to receive a request for a system design. The requirements platform may be configured to query the database for information about historical use of information handling systems in support of various business processes, to determine a set of metrics for analyzing a plurality of historical system designs, to apply the set of metrics to the data in the database to identify one or more potential related reports, to analyze the request to determine an appropriate format for the report, and to generate the report.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention includes a computer-implemented method comprising receiving a query and generating first and second requests. The first request is sent to an analytic data store and includes a data transfer indicator representing a time period when the data record was received in the analytic data store. The second request is sent to a transactional model proxy and includes a monotonically changing value, such as a timestamp. The transactional model proxy reads data from a transactional data store based on the value in the request. Data from the analytic and transactional data stores may be aggregated and returned in response to the query.

Abstract: The disclosure addresses the detection of anomalous activity. Some embodiments are directed towards consolidating information from multiple data feeds. Exemplary information may relate to: extrusion violations, failed logins, sensitive fields access, sensitive objects access, escalation of privileges, or activity during a specific time frame within a time period, and combinations of one or more of these. In one embodiment, duplicate data may be removed or consolidated.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for tracking of digital assets within a system through the use of digital serial numbers. Systems equipped with the present invention can uniquely identify copies of assets within it. Assets that originate within the system can be uniquely identified even outside the system. Their transaction history within the system can be traced by looking up the transaction history associated with an assets' serial number. The serial number applied to an asset is unique to each transaction and applied at the time a copy is made. Database entries are created that link each unique serial number to aspects of the transaction. Each serial number references details about a particular transaction such as parties involved, date and time of copy, ownership, terms of use, and payment terms.
