Abstract: Privacy Preserving Data-Mining Protocol, between a secure “aggregator” and “sources” having respective access to privacy-sensitive micro-data, the protocol including: the “aggregator” accepting a user query and transmitting a parameter list for that query to the “sources” (often including privacy-problematic identifiable specifics to be analyzed); the “sources” then forming files of privacy-sensitive data-items according to the parameter list and privacy filtering out details particular to less than a predetermined quantity of micro-data-specific data-items; and the “aggregator” merging the privacy-filtered files into a data-warehouse to formulate a privacy-safe response to the user—even though the user may have included privacy-problematic identifiable specifics.

Abstract: A method and system is provided to dynamically adjust system administration criteria based upon current conditions of a transaction processing system. Granular autonomic administrative action relative to varying conditions results in more flexible response to particular system or transactional conditions. As certain criteria are met, at a system level, a transactional level, or a combination, appropriate action may be taken suitable to the particular condition encountered. A response more suited to a particular granular condition, provides for more focused event handling on a case by case basis rather than on a system-wide or undesired transient conditions. As a result, more efficient use of system resources occurs along with more reliable management of transactional processing.

Abstract: A method and system for connecting multiple initiators to a storage area network (SAN) via a Fibre channel fabric using a single N_port fibre channel switch. The multiple initiators are associated with a common domain identification (DID), each initiator having a unique source identification (SID). The method includes initiating a communication exchange between at least one of the initiators and the SAN, the exchange including transmission of a command frame. The method also includes monitoring the initiated exchange communication exchange, and replacing the unique SID of one of the initiators with an SID of the fibre channel switch.

Abstract: A system implementable using a programmable processor includes a plurality of pre-stored commands for building an inventory of audio, musical, works or audio/visual works, such as music videos. A plurality of works can be collected together in a list for purposes of establishing a play or a presentation sequence. The list can be visually displayed and edited. A plurality of lists can be stored for subsequent retrieval. A selected list can be retrieved and executed. Upon execution, the works of the list are presented sequentially either audibly or visually. The works can be read locally from a source, such as a CD, or can be obtained, via wireless transmission, from a remote inventory. If desired, establishment of a predetermined credit can be a pre-condition to being able to add items to the list for presentation.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards providing a partial dual-encrypted stream in a conditional access overlay system. The headend equipment includes an aligner, identifier, and remapper (AIR) device (615) that receives a clear stream and one or two encrypted streams, where the two encrypted streams have been encrypted by two different encryption schemes. The AIR device (615) identifies critical packets associated with the clear stream and subsequently allows two encrypted streams to pass and drops the critical packets of the clear stream. A multiplexer (640) then combines a percentage of the non-critical packets of the clear stream and the critical packets of the two encrypted streams to provide the partial dual-encrypted stream.

Abstract: A system and methods for the dynamic generation of playlists to a user are provided. In connection with a system that convergently merges perceptual and digital signal processing analysis of media entities for purposes of classifying the media entities, various means are provided to a user for automatically generating playlists of closely related and/or similarly situated media entities for distribution to participating users. Techniques for providing a dynamic recommendation engine and techniques for rating media entities are also included. In an illustrative implementation, the playlists may be generated and stored allowing for user persistence from experience to experience.

Abstract: A system and method of operation for a distributed media network and meta data server provides a low cost, efficient, reliable and versatile alternative to traditional media network systems. Multiple media data file servers are designated as primary or alternate data file servers for different media data media files. Related or linked media data files may be distributed throughout a media network which results in lower peak bandwidth usage at each media data file server. Each server in the distributed media network responds more quickly and efficiently due to its limited functionality and scope of media data files that it must server. Media data file servers transfer low bandwidth meta data to client devices allowing a significant increase in the number of clients which can simultaneously log in to a dedicated network server.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, systems and methods are provided to facilitate a distribution of bank accounts via an educational institution. For example, information associated with a student, faculty member, or alum may be received from a university. A soft bank account may then be established based on the received information. If an indication of acceptance is received (e.g., via a Web site), the soft bank account may be activated. The activated bank account may then be used to process banking transactions.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of statistical application in an OLTP environment to reduce the intensive computational load of invoking SQL statements for statistical calculations. The method introduces a time element into statistical records, and use the time element to determine the time status of previously computed statistical records. Upon receiving a query for a statistical record, the system first searches for an existing copy of the statistical record, and checks the time status of the statistical record if found. The system sends the statistical record to the inquirer if the record exists and is unexpired, and invokes an SQL statement to compute the statistical record only if the record does not exist or has expired. The statistical records may be placed in statistical table in a database and/or a cache of an application server. The disclosed strategy may also increase attack resistance of the system.

A server device receives real-time flight information, an airport information, an airline information, and content information and generates a group playlist based on the real-time flight information, the airport information, the airline information, and the content information. The server device then transmits the group playlist to a client device. There is also disclosed a system for delivering real-time content on a network comprising a server device and a client device.

Abstract: Audit records generated from applications running on multiple machines in a computer network are managed on an audit management system. Audit records are sent by the applications over a network to the audit management system. One or more operations are performed on the audit records within the audit management system. After the one or more operations are performed, data representing the audit records from the different applications is written by the audit management system to a repository.

Abstract: A source code control architecture. A client user checks out a copy of a source code file to the client using a file checkout process. A client cache maintains a pristine copy of the file, and a client activity list maintains a list of commands executed during the offline mode to effect modifications to the copy. The client cache contains a pristine copy of all source code files that are modified or deleted in a local client workspace. The cache is maintained whether the user is online or offline. When the user is offline, the cache is utilized to facilitate many of the activities that historically would require server connectivity. The command activity list allows a developer to continue changing the source code while offline by automatically recording the executed commands. The offline commands are reconciled to the server, and used to update the server file(s) when the client returns online.

Abstract: A system and method for retaining, associating, and reloading a user's preferences in a video game system without requiring active participation from the user is provided. The system may include an object control mechanism for receiving a passive indication from the user to perform a fingerprint scan of the user's fingertip. A fingerprint scanner may be coupled to the object control mechanism for transparently performing the fingerprint scan to generate identifying data for the user. If the identifying data for the user matches identifying data for a preexisting user, then preferences associated with the preexisting user may be reloaded. If the identifying data for the user does not match identifying data for a preexisting user, then preferences of the user may retained and associated with the user's identifying data.

Abstract: System and method for notifying a user of an occurrence of a defined condition in a process. The process includes a plurality of event records associated with the process; each of the plurality of event records includes a plurality of data fields having data relating to the process. A subset of the plurality of event records is defined where the subset relates to the defined condition. The data in the defined subset is updated at a predetermined time interval. The user is notified when the updated data of the defined subset indicates that the defined condition has occurred. The subset may alternatively be defined as a function of a current time, a last run time and the defined condition.

Abstract: The data processing system has an online transactional processing (OLTP) system for receiving of reporting data from work centers of a production line. The production line is logically divided into shop areas. At the exits of each shop area where an intermediate product is completed one reporting point serves as exit point in order to report the completion of an intermediate production step. This data is stored in the OLTP system and retrieved at a later point of time in order to generate a table containing aggregated intermediate product quantities per shop area. This table is transferred to a financial data server for calculation of the value of work in progress.

Abstract: An overall pharmacy system and methodology begins with bulk medications and supplements introduced into the work flow, individually packaged and assembled into med pass orders per patient and delivered to the long-term care (LTC) facility or other institution for patient consumption. The process according to one embodiment of this invention begins by converting bulk medications and supplements to packaged unit doses and ultimately individually packaged med pass bags for each patient on a 24-hour schedule. The various safeguards and measures built into this system increase patient safety eliminate waste and increase labor efficiency by reducing and/or minimizing the disposal of unused medications and supplements. The design of the overall system and its individual components allows for physical control of each unit dose package from start to finish without any unit dose package “free fall” in the system. This process is automated and does not rely upon manual sorting.

The OLAP system aggregates the selection to form aggregated information. The OLAP system filters the selection according to the authorization for the user, to form a filtered selection. In this manner the user can see accurate aggregations yet not see unauthorized data.

Abstract: A method of data migration and integration with a data load mechanism. The first primary step is to extract the data from a named source by remote queries. The follow-up logic is used for any miscellaneous or supplemental transformations to inbound data for data renaming, null scrubbing, and data polishing. The filtration step allows for any extraneous data to be filtered out. The compression step consolidates any fragmented balances residual in the remote queries, localize remote data, data map, or follow-up logic. As a part of the compression process, the result set table signature is explicitly cast to that of the destination fact table. The result of this is an exact replica of the destination fact table format, data types and column order. The kickout handling provides referential integrity of the inbound data flow against the named BPM Destination System. Finally, the deployment step limits the dynamic reload or sync determination to certain fields.

Abstract: Data processing systems and methods are provided having an on-line transaction processing (OLTP) database and an on-line analysis processing (OLAP) database. The OLAP and OLTP databases are synchronized periodically. In response to a user's query, OLAP cube data that is available in the OLAP database is complimented with data from the OLTP database for inclusion of up-to-date data into the on-line analysis processing.

Abstract: Customized sales software for consolidating, organizing and integrating data and process flow in a manner especially suited for sales operations. The customized sales software is customized to represent the user company's business process and integrates the user company's applications and data but does not change the user company's existing applications or databases. The sales software is designed in layers to enable seamless integration of legacy systems and external data sources, without requiring change to them, while at the same time enabling the introduction of new interfaces, transactions and processes. Integration with legacy systems and external data sources is possible at different layers within the software and may or may not utilize existing legacy system applications and processes. Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure a method and technique for predictive modeling of customer behavior is disclosed. The method includes receiving customer data from a plurality on non-affiliated vendor properties, anonymizing at least a portion of the received customer data and merging the anonymized customer data from each vendor property into a consortium database, and generating at least one predictive model of at least one behavior variable associated with at least one customer represented in the consortium database, the predictive model enabling identification of at least one stimuli likely to affect a desired response by the customer based on the predictive model.

A first transaction related component receives a transaction related message from a second transaction related component. The transaction related message indicates a request by the second transaction related component to perform a transaction related operation that is to involve the first transaction related component. The first transaction related component authenticates the second transaction related component. The first transaction related component refers to transaction control information indicating roles the second transaction component is permitted to assume relative to the first transaction related component. The transaction related operation indicated in the request is compared to the permitted roles for the second transaction related component. The transaction related operation is implemented in accordance with the results of the comparison.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining and reporting aggregated transaction level data regarding a particular user are disclosed. Based on the requests of one or more information requesters, an aggregator server can request transaction level data for all accounts associated with a particular user or a group of users from a transaction database. The transaction database returns raw transaction level data for accounts associated with the particular user to the aggregator server. The aggregator server can then parse the raw transaction level data based on a number of transaction level data elements and information requester input. The parsed raw transaction level data can then be used to determine the number of predefined or information requester defined transaction level data aggregates. The resulting transaction level data aggregates can then be sent in a report to the one or more information requesters.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing aggregated transaction level data for a particular user to multiple information requesters are disclosed. Subkeys are assigned to user inquiries from multiple information requesters and a super key is assigned to those subkeys to link them to one or more user identifiers such as a username or Social Security number. Account level data is provided based on the super key and the user identifiers. Duplicate requests for aggregated transaction level data contained in the user inquiries can be deleted. User inquiry response files containing transaction level aggregate data can be sent to the information requesters based on the assigned subkeys.

In one method, messages relating to events that affect or require use of a database maintained by multiple processing modules in a distributed processing system are received. The messages are buffered and placed in a third message in a manner that preserves time ordering of the messages. The packed message is then multicast to the processing modules. Each processing module processes messages that are addressed to it. A method for pacing multicast messages destined for the processing modules is also provided.

The universal financial card next includes a third memory location, which is configured to store identification information associated with the plurality of accounts. The identification information includes at least authorized user information. A read device is included with the universal financial card and is configured to be read by a card reader and enable a financial transaction to be executed on one of the plurality of accounts identified by one of the plurality of account identifiers.

A counting measure may be defined in the hierarchical database such that the counting measure is associated with members of a first category of data to be stored in the hierarchical database. A query may be received that identifies the counting measure. The hierarchical database may be queried to identify members of the first category of data that are presently in the hierarchical database. A data structure may be generated that includes the members of the first category of data that are stored in the hierarchical database. One or more distinct count values may be calculated for the members of the first category of data that are stored in the hierarchical database.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed, where first information that is related to a current commercial transaction that is being evaluated for fraud is received, either directly or indirectly, from a consumer through an online service or internet. The computer obtains an internet address from which the first information is received from the consumer. In response to obtaining the internet address, the computer accesses at least one database to obtain a second information on a plurality of commercial transactions that have been previously associated with the internet address from which the first information is received from the consumer. An indication is produced on whether the current commercial transaction is fraudulent based on correlating at least one subset of the second information and at least one subset of the first information.

Abstract: An electronic transaction decision module is provided that includes a dynamic rules engine, processing system and interfaces to enable various participants in an electronic payment environment to establish and modify the rules, condition values, fees and rewards associated with electronic transactions. Participants in electronic financial or other economic transactions are authorized and enabled to define multiple rules, condition values, fees and rewards within which they either authorize or deny the consummation of a financial transaction and define its impact upon various participants, and to dynamically and efficiently modify those rules, condition values, fees and rewards when desired. Rules, condition values, fees and rewards may be set and evaluated hierarchically based on the participant's relative authority with respect to each attribute.
