  • Patent number: 8577867
Abstract: Information regarding the structure of information in a content database is maintained in a structure database. The structure database is used to correlate the data structure of a query to the structure of the content database, in order to determine that information in the content database which needs to be provided to a searcher in response to the query. In one embodiment, this search method is used in an online forum, and the forum maintains a reputation score for users with respect to given subject matter. The reputation score is dependent upon the quality of a user's participation in the forum. A user's reputation score depends upon the evaluation by others of information he posts and upon the user evaluating information posted by others.

  • Patent number: 8577884
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for providing automated analysis and summarization of free-form comments in survey response data. A number of topic words are identified from the survey response comments, and a numeric weight is calculated for each topic word that reflects the relevance of the topic word to each comment. Each topic word is associated with one or more topics and the comments relevant to each topic is then determined based on the weights of the associated topic words in each comment. A report is generated which summarizes the topics and their relative importance in the survey response comments based upon the number of comments relevant to each.

  • Patent number: 8560685
Abstract: Configurations providing a probabilistic ownership protocol for managing respective web property IDs (WPID) associated with incoming event tracking data communications are described. A server can determine whether an event tracking data communication with an associated WPID has an owner by checking a master ownership table. The server can register an intent to become an owner of the event tracking data communication if a minimum number of owner(s) is not met. The server then waits for a random period of time. After the random period of time, the server can check the master ownership table to determine whether the event tracking data communication has an owner or enough owners. The server can then register for ownership of the event tracking data communication by modifying the master ownership table if the event tracking data communication does not have an owner or enough owners.

  • Patent number: 8510284
Abstract: Large-scale event processing systems are often designed to perform data mining operations by storing a large set of events in a massive database, applying complex queries to the records of the events, and generating reports and notifications. However, because such queries are performed on very large data sets, the processing of the queries often introduces a significant delay between the occurrence of the events and the reporting or notification thereof. Instead, a large-scale event processing system may be devised as a large state machine organized according to an evaluation plan, comprising a graph of event processors that, in realtime, evaluate each event in an event stream to update an internal state of the event processor, and to perform responses when response conditions are met. The continuous monitoring and evaluation of the stream of events may therefore enable the event processing system to provide realtime responses and notifications of complex queries.

After executing the processes for an initial runtime, a convergence status of each process is determined that indicates a likelihood that the training function being executed will converge on the training data. Based on the determination, training functions are identified that are not likely to converge and processes that are executing these training functions are terminated. • Patent number: 8484245
Abstract: A classification method includes constructing queries from category descriptors representing categories of a taxonomy of hierarchically organized categories. The query constructed for a category c includes a query component based on descriptors of the category c and at least one query component based on descriptors of an ancestor or descendant category of the category c. A documents database is queried using the constructed queries to retrieve pseudo-relevant documents. Language models for the categories of the taxonomy are extracted from the pseudo-relevant documents by inferring a hierarchical topic model representing the taxonomy. An input document is classified by optimizing mixture weights of a weighted combination of categories of the hierarchical topic model respective to the input document.

Abstract: A solution is disclosed for an overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) analysis for a manufacturing execution system (MES) allowing a comparative analysis that makes it possible to build links and relations among the values found in a report with raw data acquired from the field. The solution is a web application running on a web server and on OEE databrowsers running on clients. In order to come to a comparative analysis an OEE-server is provided with the functionality to acquire data from the MES of the production plant, to perform scheduling for reports, and to perform run time query executions. Additionally the web server gets data from a data mining support database.

Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein include systems and methods for data validation and correction. Such systems and methods can reduce costs, improve productivity, improve scalability, improve data quality, improve accuracy, and enhance data security. A data manager can execute such data validation and correction. The data manager identifies one or more anomalies from a given data set using both contextual information and validation rules, and then automatically corrects any identified anomalies or missing information. Identification of anomalies includes generating similar data elements, and correlating against contextual information and validation rules.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an approach to automated recurring concept extraction, from a plurality of input data models (schemas) is presented. The approach converts input data models to graphs, with typed elements. The graphs are mined for closed subgraphs that have a defined minimum support. The identified subgraphs can be filtered with a relevance metric. These subgraphs are converted to schemas or an appropriate representation, and stored for reuse in a repository. The repository can be used to automate further transformation or mapping of schemas presented to a system that uses the repository. In one example, the repository is used in a schema covering process to perform schema transformation.

Abstract: Methods and systems for identifying stability exceptions in a data log are disclosed. In one method, at least one key that is present in the data log is determined. The data log is comprised of at least one data set, at least one of which includes a plurality of iterations indicating states of the corresponding data set at different points in time. For each data set and for each key, a map is generated. The map indicates, for each iteration of the corresponding data set, whether the corresponding key is present in the corresponding iteration. Moreover, at least one expression pattern rule that models data item stability characteristics over data set iterations is compared to each of the maps to determine whether the corresponding map satisfies the one or more expression pattern rules. Further, at least one unstable data item is identified in the data log based on the comparison.
