Abstract: A method to enable dynamic modification of metadata in a content, the method comprising of constructing the content (305, 505) received from a plurality of content providers, determining a set of rules based on a criterion (310, 405) and sending the content and the set of rules (315, 410, 510) separately. At a receiver end, the set of rules are applied to the content (610, 710) to obtain a resulting content and the resulting content is displayed (615, 715) on a display unit.
Abstract: A Mixed Media Reality (MMR) system and associated techniques are disclosed. The MMR system provides mechanisms for forming a mixed media document that includes media of at least two types (e.g., printed paper as a first medium and digital content and/or web link as a second medium). In one particular embodiment, the MMR system includes an MMR user, a MMR computer, a user printer that produces a printed document, a networked media server, an office portal, a service provider server, an electronic display that is electrically connected to a set-top box, a document scanner, a network, a capture device, a cellular infrastructure, wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) technology, Bluetooth® technology, infrared (IR) technology, wired technology, and a geo location mechanism.

Abstract: A monitoring system provided according to an aspect of the present invention enables a user to specify multiple resource elements as a resource pool, and view various aggregate information (e.g., sum, average) for attributes of interest for all the resource elements together. Such a feature is particularly useful in distributed environments where multiple independent resource elements need to be viewed as a single resource pool. The user is provided the flexibility to select the specific resource elements to be included in the resource pool.
Abstract: A method of managing application service provider product line variations is disclosed. The method includes receiving a client customization request, creating a configuration managed file tailored to the client customization request, binding the configuration managed file to at least one customizable resource, and deploying the customizable resource to a data store. The customizable resource is instantiated after disposition at the data store.

Abstract: Project property sheets store project compiler and tool properties that are shared across multiple software projects. Property sheets enable a global repository of compiler and tool settings, so that changes in a global project property sheet will automatically propagate to the project property sheets that inherit from the global project property sheet, or from other project property sheets that inherit from the global project property sheet. Users of project property sheets are able to customize their project property sheet by defining their own compiler and tool properties. Defined compiler and tool properties override or supplement compiler and tool properties found in the global project property sheet.
Abstract: A search query is received from a single input field of a user interface. A keyword search is performed based on the search query to generate keyword search results. A natural language search is performed of a frequently-asked question (FAQ) database based on the search query to generate FAQ search results. The keyword search results and the FAQ search results are combined in a display page.
