Abstract: A data assignment column, a first data element column, and a second data element column are presented in a graphical user interface, wherein the first and second data element columns show data elements stored in a database. First user input selecting one or more data elements in the first data column is received. Second user input in one or more of the data assignment elements indicates selection of one or more data elements of the second data column. The selected one or more data elements in the first data column are associated in the database with the selected one or more data elements in the second data column.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for transforming an original graph data set into a representative form having a smaller number of dimensions that the original graph data set. The mechanisms generate a graph transformation basis structure based on an input graph data structure. The mechanisms further transform an original graph data set based on an intersection of the graph transformation basis structure and the input graph data structure to thereby generate a transformed graph data set data structure. The transformed graph data set data structure has a reduced dimensionality from that of the input graph data structure but represents characteristics of the original graph data set. Moreover, the mechanisms perform an application specific operation on the transformed graph data set data structure to generate an output of a closest similarity record in the transformed graph data set to a target component.

Abstract: An “asset-based” user interface can be provided based on consulting metadata with an asset and presenting an interface to allow selection of actions associated with that particular asset. By presenting a listing of actions in response to a single command, the user can be spared the need to navigate through contextual menus to determine available services. The interface can be presented in a file selection interface provided by an operating system, e.g., in response to an “open” command in a folder. A method can comprise identifying a command referencing an asset and accessing metadata associated with the asset. The accessed metadata can comprise a unique metadata record for the asset available locally and/or accessible from a remote computing system. The method may further comprise determining one or more actions available for use with the referenced asset and providing an interface for selecting one or more of the determined actions.

Abstract: A method involves identifying, within each of a plurality of structured data strings within a data file having a serialized data format, each of the plurality of structured data strings contained within an atomic element of an atom within the data file, data particles located within substantially the same location within each structured data string and that match a pre-defined regular expression, and generating a plurality of indexed structured data strings by creating, within each of the plurality of structured data strings, a separate index across all of the plurality of structured data strings for each identified data particle matching a particular pre-defined regular expression. The method may be incorporated into a GUI, where the indexed structured data strings may be displayed to a user and the user may then provide feedback. The user feedback may be a data query, resulting in data that was otherwise not readily searchable.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for creation, implementation, and use of computer-generated “smart” documents to which functionality is attached for providing contextually sensitive tools, controls and help content to users of those documents. Portions of documents are annotated with Extensible Markup Language (XML) tags and structure so that when a user enters those portions, such as by placing a computer cursor in those portions, the user is provided contextually sensitive tools, controls and/or help content. A document tools pane may open on the user's computer screen adjacent to the document being edited for providing the document tools, controls or help content related to the context of the text or data in which the cursor is located. If the user moves the cursor to another portion of the document, the user may obtain information associated with the context of the new portion of the document in which the cursor is located.

Abstract: In a method in a computer system for displaying on a display device a personal catalog of media content, a plurality of media content listings is received from a plurality of network enabled media devices. The plurality of network enabled media devices has common ownership with the computer system, which comprises a network enabled media device. The plurality of media content listings and a media content listing of the computer system are used to compile a personal catalog of media content. The personal catalog of media content is displayed on the display device.

Abstract: A computer system and database adapted to help with the synthesis and assembly of informational units (lexemes) required for the preparation of professional reports. The system works iteratively, and uses certain characteristics of professional reports to predict which lexemes a user is likely to need at each iteration, allowing the user to select the most useful lexemes from a very large number of lexemes stored in a lexicon for this purpose. The characteristics of professional reports that enable the process of selection include context, predicance and coherence. The report, consisting of an assembly of lexemes, can be exported as text files having different linguistic styles, or as computer code permitting efficient retrieval and computerized analysis of the content of the report for billing, administration, or research.

Abstract: A waiting time until editing starts is shortened. Metadata that are a part of metadata are transferred from an optical disc set in a disc unit to an HDD in an editing device. The metadata are text data including a clip ID and continuing time information of material data, and they are small in information quantity. Thus, a waiting time for waiting for the completion of metadata transfer does not take place, and immediately after the optical disc is set editing processing can start. An editor selects a clip in accordance with a clip ID included in the metadata. Further, the editor selects a used portion of the clip in accordance with the continuing time information included in the metadata. Editing data are generated on the basis of these selected results.

Abstract: An electronic device, data processing method, data control method, and content data processing system enabling a user to search for a track reproduced in the past, but with a forgotten title name and an artist name. A CPU displays on an LCD panel a reproduction history screen displaying a number of tracks reproduced that day on a calendar. By a user operation via an input device, the CPU switches the reproduction history screen to another reproduction history screen displaying a list of tracks reproduced on a certain other day as the reproduction history list. It reproduces the track selected by the user and allows editing of its attribute.

Abstract: A space providing server analyzes content to generate meta data. Further the space providing server generates contents space information defining the coordinates of a plurality of main bodies of contents data on a network according to the amount of features thereof, based on the meta data. The terminal apparatus displays a screen which includes image corresponding to the plurality of contents, based on the coordinates included in the contents space information.

Abstract: A method for providing a user interface (UI) in an electronic device includes determining at least a starting keyword from a given target database, and associating each said starting keyword with a function of the electronic device; determining at least a linking keyword from a user profile database; creating a keyword tree from the at least a starting keyword and the at least a linking keyword, wherein the keyword tree has at least two layers, and the at least a linking keyword is placed in an upper layer relative to the at least a starting keyword; and providing the keyword tree on the electronic device for a user to browse and thereby select at least a said starting keyword by at least a said linking keyword on the keyword tree, thus starting the function.

Abstract: One embodiment of a computer readable storage medium contains an executable program for providing a cloud-based service to an enterprise comprising a plurality of members, where the program causes a processor to perform steps including receiving at least a portion of a policy a first user within the enterprise, where the policy defines a limit on usage of the cloud-based service by at least some of the plurality of members, receiving a request for the cloud-based service from a second user associated with one of the plurality of members, and automatically responding to the request in accordance with the policy.

Abstract: A data model specific to a database schema is received in a database system. The received data model may be applied to a first instance of the database schema to generate a data view of the first database schema. The received data model may be applied to a second instance of the database schema to generate a second data view of the second database schema.

Abstract: The subject matter described herein is directed to controlling presentation and selection of objects that are digital images depicting subjects. According to one aspect, a plurality of objects arranged in a plurality of rows and columns is presented via a presentation device. Each object in one of a second row and a second column is associated with an object in one of a first row and a first column. A first object presented in the one of a first row and a first column is selected in response to a first selection event associated with the first object. A second object non-adjacent to the first object is determined based on a predefined relationship associating the first object with the second object. The second is presented via the presentation device adjacent to the first object in the one of the second row and the second column in response to the determination.

Abstract: An object set may be redundantly stored by a set of computers, each configured to store a local representation of corresponding objects. When a computer changes the object set (e.g., by adding or altering an object), the updated object may be synchronized across the computers by iteratively forming and using an ad hoc swarm network from the neighbors of a node storing the updated object. This swarm network may operate cooperatively, where each node distributes object chunks to other nodes as quickly as possible, and may disregard concepts of competitive swarm networks such as fairness and cheating avoidance, which may not apply to cooperative swarming and might otherwise slow the propagation of the object. An alternative “ask” technique may be included to identify and recover missed object updates, and a computing environment host may be included as an authoritative object source and/or as an object store of last resort.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and system is provided for associating and extracting content artifacts from a graphical representation of electronic content. A multi-dimensional virtual lattice comprising one or more grid layers is created. The nodes of the multi-dimensional virtual lattice represent metadata acquired from predefined content criteria. Electronic content comprising content artifacts acquired from multiple content sources is graphically represented within the multi-dimensional virtual lattice using the grid layers. Each of the content artifacts from the electronic content attaches to one or more nodes of the multi-dimensional virtual lattice. A user provides search criteria comprising keywords. The content artifacts attached to nodes of the multi-dimensional virtual lattice whose metadata matches with the keywords are extracted and displayed to the user.

Abstract: A user-interface method of selecting and presenting a collection of content items based on user navigation and selection actions associated with the content is provided. The method includes associating a relevance weight on a per user basis with content items to indicate a relative measure of likelihood that the user desires the content item. The method includes receiving a user's navigation and selections actions for identifying desired content items, and in response, adjusting the associated relevance weight of the selected content item and group of content items containing the selected item. The method includes, in response to subsequent user input, selecting and presenting a subset of content items and content groups to the user ordered by the adjusted associated relevance weights assigned to the content items and content groups.

Abstract: A method for updating floor information for display by an elevator in a remote property includes receiving, from a property server, data indicative of a floor for which the elevator lacks floor information, receiving, from a remotely executing process, new floor information for the floor; storing the new floor information in a floor information database; receiving, from the property server, a request identifying the remote property and requesting updated floor information for the remote property; and retrieving updated floor information from the floor-information database.

Abstract: Systems for browsing media that is accessible via the Internet are described. In many embodiments, the system includes a browsing application that identifies media within pages retrieved via the Internet by performing document analysis. The document analysis identifies pieces of media referenced by the page and, in a number of embodiments, also identifies pieces of media referenced by pages linked to by the original page. The identified pieces of media can be used to generate playlists that can then be played for a user via a television. In several embodiments, the browsing application is configured to render a playback page that shows pieces of media queued in a playlist and facilitates user navigation to other sites using a typical television remote control.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates collecting and organizing electronic documents. An interface component can receive a document. A manager component can automatically file the document into a category based at least in part upon a portion of static metadata associated with the document and a portion of metadata dynamically generated from an inference related to the portion of static metadata associated with the document.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for automatically arranging graphical representations of objects on a canvas. Optionally, the automatic arrangement of the graphical representation of the object may be performed in an on demand, multi-tenant database as part of a tool for creating and displaying schema. A data object with more connections to other data objects may tend to be placed closer to other objects, where as data objects with fewer connections may tend to be placed further apart. The algorithm for placement is based on computations of pseudo-forces between objects. The pseudo force on an object from all other objects is calculated in a given time step and when the force is less than a threshold value, the positions of the objects is updated based on the forces. When the computed displacements are less than a threshold, the objects are in equilibrium.

Abstract: A system embodied on a computer-readable storage medium bearing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a logic device, carries out a method for providing data for an organization. The system includes a logic device and one or more computer non-transitory readable media. The one or more computer readable media contain a set of computer-executable instructions to be executed by the logic device. The set of computer-executable instructions is configured to connect to a database over a network. The set of computer-executable instructions is also configured to obtain information from the database regarding an organization. The set of computer-executable instructions is further configured to display the information to a user.

Abstract: Discrepancies in two sets of asset data for an organization are identified and automatically reconciled. One set of asset data may be compiled using automatic physical discovery software while the other set is from a financial system of the organization. Automatic reconciliation is performed according to user-configurable rules and corresponding user-configurable actions.

Abstract: An item authority system is provided. The item authority system uses rules to identify item definitions that match or potentially match an item description. When a unique match is found, then the item authority system may indicate that the item description describes the same item as the item definition. If multiple matches or only potential matches are identified, then the item authority system may allow a user to manually indicate which item definition matches.

Abstract: Techniques for facilitating the sharing of metadata. In one set of embodiments, a metadata document is referenced by a plurality of software applications as a URL, the URL comprising a protocol component identifying a specialized protocol name and a path component identifying a name and namespace of the metadata document. The specialized protocol name indicates that the metadata document is a shared document stored in a shared metadata repository. When an application in the plurality of software applications needs to access the metadata document, the URL is passed to a URL resolver configured to identify the shared metadata repository based on configuration information associated with the application. The metadata document is then retrieved from the shared metadata repository.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and sharing interactive charts are described. The interactive charts are generated in an online portal that allows users to customize the interactive features of the chart. An exemplary interactive feature includes an interactive audio feature. The interactive chart can be shared by, for example, embedding the interactive chart in an external electronic document, such as a .ppt or PDF document, that can be shared with other users. The interactive chart and/or the data associated with the interactive chart may also be purchased through an online store environment or otherwise shared with other users.

Abstract: Provided is a computer system for translating business information and associating the translated business information with user-defined business terms in a processor executable data management system. The computer system comprises a computer readable storage media for providing a data store and a data management system for execution on one or more data processors for storing information relating to a plurality of user-generated business terms in accordance with a schema. The data management system also includes a user interface engine configured to provide a plurality of user interfaces.

Abstract: A metadata management architecture. The architecture includes a property component that lists one or more properties related to a file, and a viewing component that present files having one or more of the related properties. A synchronization component provides immediate synchronization between property editing fields of the property component and a view in the property-based browser component, providing both instantaneous feedback on property changes and an ability to manipulate properties graphically. Thus, a change in the property pane is immediately reflected in the view component, and a change in the view component is immediately reflected in the property pane.

Abstract: An information processing device, method and computer program product use a display controller that causes a display device to display a cluster name having a data item association with a cluster of at least one data item. An operation acquisition portion is configured to acquire information associated with a user operation performed on the cluster. An editing portion edits the cluster name and data item association in accordance with the user operation. As a consequence the associations between data items may easily be formed along with associated cluster names formed.

Abstract: A universal data management interface (UDMI) system includes a processing system generates a visual interface through which a user can access, manage, and manipulate data on plural different types of remote databases. The UDMI connects to multiple standard database management systems and to allow multiple users to access, manage, and manipulate data within each of the multiple standard database management systems. The UDMI also allows multiple virtual databases that reside in a single database to be available as a network service.

Abstract: A device receives medical data associated with a user of the device, and creates a body template based on the received medical data, where the body template includes layers that are representations of a human body associated with the user. The device also displays the body template to the user, where the user is capable of manipulating one or more layers of the body template in order to review the medical data.

Abstract: A computer-based method for media composition of a family of related time-based media programs. The method involves creating a master program with time-based elements of video and/or audio as well as time-based and non-time-based metadata, creating a derivative program that includes derivative elements, defining an inheritance relationship between the master program and the derivative program that specifies elements of the master program to be inherited by the derivative program, and causing the derivative program to inherit the specified elements from the master program in accordance with the inheritance relationship. User interfaces are provided for creating, editing, and viewing hierarchical trees of related programs.

Abstract: An object-oriented system provides a comprehensive and integrated tool to manage, operate, analyze and inspect structures by providing 3-D visualization of the structures, a database interface, connectivity with one or more databases, a data display and analysis capabilities. The structural model is stored as an object-oriented, serialized file as a series of objects, including primitives, coordinates, object names, group names and other object identifiers. The system integrates various types of data, including tabulated textual data, annotated engineering drawings, photographic records, graphical plots, audio and videotaped records, from different tables and databases. Data are displayed to the user based on queries that the user submits to the system, which queries are evaluated at run-time. As a result, the user achieves unparalleled flexibility in data analysis and evaluation.

Abstract: A system for evaluating a review having unstructured text comprises a segment splitter for separating at least a portion of the unstructured text into one or more segments, each segment comprising one or more words; a segment parser coupled to the segment splitter for assigning one or more lexical categories to one or more of the one or more words of each segment; an information extractor coupled to the segment parser for identifying a feature word and an opinion word contained in the one or more segments; and a sentiment rating engine coupled to the information extractor for calculating an opinion score based upon an opinion grouping, the opinion grouping including at least the feature word and the opinion word identified by the information extractor.

Abstract: In order to provide a recording and reproducing device that allows a user to select and manage arbitrary play lists, a unit of management for managing all registered play list information and an upper management hierarchical level are added. The unit of management is adapted to be handled on the same level with unified information that indicates a reproduction range of all AV data. User-defined unified information is adapted to be handled on the added management hierarchical level. The user-defined unified information is formed to allow arbitrary reproduction ranges contained on a lower hierarchical level to be registered.

Abstract: Resolving conflicting graph mutations in a distributed computing system. Graph data for at least a partition of a graph is stored in a worker system of a distributed computing system. The graph represents relationships among a set of tangible items that model a real-world condition having an associated problem. A plurality of conflicting mutation requests are received to mutate the graph. A conflict between the mutation requests is resolved with a conflict resolution function that lacks direct access to the graph data. The graph data is updated responsive to a result generated by resolving the conflict using the conflict resolution function.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to add opaque state information to a data file that includes dynamic content and is organized according to a page descriptive format. The opaque state information can be referenced to a comment and a comment state selected from a plurality of states associated with the dynamic content. In some embodiments, the apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to access the data file and the opaque state information to recreate the comment state associated with the dynamic content. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: A method is illustrated comprising receiving annotation data relating to an interface object, the interface object being selectable to invoke functionality of a software application. Moreover, the method includes retrieving the annotation data based upon the association of the annotation data with the interface object. Additionally, the method includes displaying the annotation data proximate to the interface object within a display area.

Abstract: A method including receiving input identifying a panel associated with a software application, the software application including a Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the panel comprising a discrete area of the GUI within which to group software objects to control the software application. Additionally, the method includes processing the input to identify an object of the software objects to be included in the panel. Further, the method includes generating a panel definition including the object and dimensions of the panel, the panel definition to be processed to render the GUI.

Abstract: Various embodiments illustrated and described herein include one or more of systems, methods, software, and data structures for presentation of package files including a reference content item. Some embodiments include receiving a reference content item, such as an image, map, or calendar, and mappings of package files to locations within the reference item for display. Such embodiments may then publish the package file. Some other embodiments include generating visual representations of package files including a reference content item and one or more content items mapped to locations within a reference content item. Such a visual representation may include a view of the reference content item and a graphical element representative of the content item at the mapped location within the view of the reference content item.

Abstract: A transaction processing system for the real time authorization of payment transactions, The system comprises a verification system (4) connected to an issuer card management system (3). A cardholder can access the system via an interface (2) which can be for example the Internet, a wireless device, telephone, or a branch visit. The interface allows the cardholder to input rules governing how their credit card transactions are to be authorized. When the cardholder initiates a purchase transaction with their credit card, an authorization request is passed from the card network to the verification system which executes the rules created by the cardholder in order to approve or deny the transaction.

Abstract: An exemplary method includes generating an interaction feed corresponding to a user of at least one access device, the interaction feed comprising data representative of an interaction of the at least one access device with one or more media content applications, updating metadata within a storage facility with the interaction feed, and automatically customizing an interaction experience of at least one of the user and another user with a media content application in accordance with the metadata. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for creating, exporting, viewing and testing, and importing custom applications in a multi-tenant database environment. These mechanisms and methods can enable embodiments to provide a vehicle for sharing applications across organizational boundaries. The ability to share applications across organizational boundaries can enable tenants in a multi-tenant database system, for example, to easily and efficiently import and export, and thus share, applications with other tenants in the multi-tenant environment.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a request for a target Web page, the request containing a session identifier (ID) associated with an instance of a Web browser, and determining if the session ID is new or existing. If the session ID is new, the method includes creating a window session object, and initializing the window session object with data defining a state of the instance of the Web browser. If the session ID is existing, the method includes accessing a stored window session object using the session ID, the stored window session object containing data defining a state of the instance of the Web browser, generating the target Web page based on the data, and providing the target Web page to the Web browser.

Abstract: A transformation engine is disclosed that retrieves source data from a plurality of disparate data sources and provides source data that is consistent and normalized. the transformation engine comprises a plurality of interfaces that receive source data from a plurality of disparate databases. The source data comprises a plurality of data elements. The transformation engine further comprises a converter that aggregates and converts the received source data so that the plurality of data elements are recognizable as being substantially equivalent; a data processor that formats the received source data by merging and preparing the received source data; and a business rule applicator that filters the received source data.

Abstract: Techniques for visual data import into an object model are described. A graphical user interface concurrently displays a first icon that represents a first object type and a second icon that represents a second object type. Input defining object-to-data mappings between properties of the object types and structured data of one or more data sources is received. Further input defining a relationship type for relationships between the first object type and the second object type is also received. In response to the second input, a graphical representation of the relationship type is displayed, visually linking the first icon to the second icon. Based at least on the object-to-data mappings, the definition of the relationship type, and the structured data, an object model is created, comprising first objects of the first object type, second objects of the second object type, and relationships between the first objects and the second objects.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating statistical views in a database system. In one embodiment, a request is received to execute a database workload. One or more constraints pertaining to executing the database workload is retrieved. The database workload is evaluated to generate multiple statistical view candidates. The statistical view candidates are refined based on the one or more constraints. One or more statistical views are then generated based on the refined statistical view candidates.

Abstract: Typed dependency graphs represent digital assets as nodes in a graph. The digital assets, data files, and required software applications are represented as connected nodes. Nodes of the graph are connected by typed links, specifying the type of dependency relationship between digital assets, data files, and/or software applications associated with nodes. Type attributes can represent one-way dependencies, two-way dependencies, version relationships, variant relationships, subcomponent relationships, aggregation relationships, and software application/digital asset dependencies. Typed dependency graphs may be automatically created by parsing asset data or data files to determine the characteristics of assets and their relationships with other assets, data files, and software applications. Typed dependency graphs may be traversed based on the type of links, with the result defining a component, subcomponent, version, and/or variant.

Abstract: A method of providing a user interface (UI) and a display apparatus having the same. In a method for providing a UI, a display apparatus receives an manipulation for two or more axis directions, and searches for one of a plurality of images by applying two or more different classification standards according to the directions of the received input manipulation. Therefore, the user may easily search for a desired image using one or more classification standards.

Abstract: A sandboxed process is initiated in response to a request for a preview of dynamic media content. A stream of frames is generated in a preview specific format by a plug-in that executes within the sandboxed process. The stream of frames is provided as the preview of the dynamic media content, where the preview is viewable on a display screen.
