Using Extracted Text (epo) Patents (Class 707/E17.022)
  • Publication number: 20090043769
Abstract: To provide a technology that facilitates a Web access based on information (search keyword) in an advertisement by extracting a search keyword from an image simulating a search box of a search engine and making a search with this search keyword. Image information is acquired, the image information is analyzed, a simulated search box area corresponding to a predetermined pattern simulating a search box is specified, and a search keyword is extracted from the simulated search box area.

  • Publication number: 20090012939
Abstract: A method of extracting a keyword in synchronism with a “scene” or “corner” in a TV program that changes in units of second in synchronism with the elapse of time of first content, and an information presentation apparatus to search and display a predetermined form of content, such as a web page, are provided. The information presentation apparatus comprises: an AV content output unit to output AV content (e.g., TV programs and movies); and a web page output unit to output, together with the AV content from the AV content output unit, a web page that corresponds to a keyword related to a scene included in the content being output from the AV content output unit without the user having to take trouble to choose a keyword, the web page output unit being adapted to, when the scene in the content changes, automatically update the web page to one corresponding to the changed scene.

  • Publication number: 20080306930
Abstract: An association engine for organizing content items in a logical database is provided. First description data including dimension data for a first identified content item in the database is extracted (S1). This process may be repeated for additional available identified content items (S3). Candidate description data is extracted (S5). Then, a set of vector values for each candidate content item may be generated (S11), each vector value representing a degree of similarity between the dimension data for a dimension, for example, metadata, usage history, genre, content type, of the first description data and the corresponding dimension data of the candidate description data. A similar candidate content item from the candidate content items may be selected (S15) based on the degrees of similarity represented by the generated set of vector values, and grouped (S16) with the first content item in the organization of the logical database.

  • Publication number: 20080294679
Abstract: A method for extracting tabular information from a web source by determining a plurality of coordinates for a plurality of visualized element nodes on the web source; determining a subset of the plurality of visualized element nodes based on the plurality of coordinates to obtain a candidate web table, wherein each of the subset of the plurality of visualized element nodes constitutes a logical cell of the candidate web table; determining textual content corresponding to the subset of the plurality of visualized element nodes as the textual content would appear after rendering the web source in a browser; and transforming the candidate web table into an explicit representation of relative spatial relation between at least one of the logical cell; and saving the explicit representation in a structured document format.

  • Publication number: 20080082527
Abstract: A precedent database is generated by registering location indicating information that shows location of each of a plurality of precedent data. A knowledge database is generated by repeating processes of carrying out a search of this precedent database according to a specified condition formula and registering knowledge names representing results of the search in correlation with the condition formula. Component and failure names in the knowledge database are inserted as items of a generated FMEA sheet. Items of the FMEA sheet are specified and displayed such that corresponding text data can be referenced.
