  • Patent number: 11734587
Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system for question answering using time weighted evidence. The mechanism receives an input question. The mechanism determines a time focus for the input question and defines a weighting function. The weighting function is a bell curve having a peak at the time focus on a time axis. The mechanism decomposes the input question into one or more queries and applies the one or more queries to a corpus of information to obtain a set of hypothesis evidence. Each item of information within the hypothesis evidence has an associated time value. The mechanism weights the set of hypothesis evidence based on the associated time values according to the weighting function to form time weighted evidence and generates hypotheses for answering the input question based on the time weighted evidence.

  • Patent number: 11683300
Abstract: Flexible authentication technologies customized to particular tenants of a data center network can be implemented. For example, an administrator can specify a primary authentication server and specify at which data centers different applications are to be hosted for a given tenant. End users can be shielded from the complexities of implementing such configuration details. For example, single sign-on authentication can be implemented, even when applications are configured to be hosted in different data centers. Enterprise tenants can thus control where applications are hosted and enforce data containment scenarios without encumbering users with additional tasks. Collaboration and application-to-application authentication can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 11444965
Abstract: Methods and systems for detection of cyberattacks in onboard systems of aircraft. Measurements carried out on these onboard systems are correlated, in case of doubt of one of the measurements, to validate the doubt, (and therefore a cyberattack) or to avert the risk. The correlation can be understood as a coming into correspondence of two or more elements/facts (for example measurements or acquired values) which makes it possible to highlight if there is a dependence of one upon the other and thus to justify modifications of one by those of the other. The correlation, preferably temporal, between identification of a suspect measurement and one or more other (quasi)simultaneous measurements allows dynamic detection, in real time, of the cyberattacks, whether they be already known or not. Thus, there is no dependence on a static protection of the onboard systems developed on the a priori knowledge of the existing cyberattacks alone.

The method includes receiving user input selecting the displayed graphics or an item within a cell of the analysis table and displaying a second screen, which presents a subset of the tape storage analytics data and provides data on operation of at least tape libraries or library components (e.g. robots, elevators, CAPs, pass through ports), tape drives, and tape media within the tape libraries, or alternatively, activities involving any or a combination of these components. The receiving and modifying steps are repeated to navigate between data corresponding to a tape library or its comprising components, a tape drive, media, or corresponding activities.

Abstract: A method and system for assigning service level objectives to data objects stored within a computer system. The computer system includes an information management server for providing customized services to data objects residing in the computer system. One exemplary method identifies a data object, such as a file, folder, database, and the like, that has been categorized according to at least one property associated with the data object. The method also identifies service level objectives that are available within the computer system. Service level objectives may include any type of service area or service level that can be provided to a data object. The data object is then associated with one or more of the service level objectives for requesting that the services associated with the one or more service level objectives be provided to the data object.

Abstract: Systems and methods which provide platform sensitive application characteristics with respect to multi-platform applications are shown. As application aspects are developed in the application, embodiments include platform sensitivity characteristics for the application aspects in the application to provide for adaptation of application characteristics for multiple platforms. Embodiments provide an application runtime environment which, although independently defining its own user interface rendering attributes, operates to adjust application characteristics in accordance with a host platform. As application aspects of a multi-platform application are to be executed, if there are relevant cross platform differences, application aspect characteristics are adjusted so as to be appropriate to the host platform. The appropriately adjusted aspects are executed to thereby provide platform sensitive application characteristics with respect to the multi-platform application.

  • Patent number: 8718383
Abstract: Registration and classification of non-textual information, such as digital images and video is described. Image searching and comparison of the images is also described. The digital images are indexed (i.e., each image is assigned a unique numerical parameter and/or a plurality of numerical parameters). The resulting index files are stored in a database that can be quickly searched because the index files are universal numerical files that are significantly smaller in size than their source images. Image search queries are also indexed to generate an index file, which is then compared with the stored index files. A similarity score is also calculated to rank the similar images based on the index file-to-index file comparison.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, system, and computer program product for transitioning a workload of a grid client from a first grid server to a second grid server. A replication process is commenced transferring application state from the first grid server to the second grid server. Prior to completion of the replication process: the grid client is rerouted to communicate with the second grid server. The second grid server receives a request from the grid client. The second grid server determines whether one or more resources necessary to handle the request have been received from the first grid server. Responsive to determining that the one or more resources have not been received from the first grid server, the second grid server queries the first grid server for the one or more resources. The second grid server responds to the request from the grid client.
