Abstract: An interactive neighborhood modeler with related economy is described. In one implementation, a system creates an interactive 3-D analog of features in a geographical area delineated by zip code or other boundary, and visually renders the interactive analog with a degree of distortion suitable for accommodating the geographical area on a display. Each feature is assigned a data space, in which an authorized representative for each feature may custom edit information. Brick-and-mortar entities within the geographical area can be allotted a virtual storefront free of charge or by subscription. A user may interact with the 3-D analog to navigate a virtual neighborhood, shop, view multiple perspectives of features, and obtain the custom information associated with each feature provided by the authorized representative, including pictures, videos, and links for transacting business.

Abstract: Entries within a participant list of an electronic communications system may be categorized automatically into one or more groups based on attributes of users represented in the participant list. Categorizing users includes maintaining a list of identifiers that are selected by a first user and for which online presence information is made perceivable through the list. The list includes one or more categories into which the identifiers are categorized. At least one attribute associated with an identifier for which online presence information is to be made perceivable through the list and attributes stored relative to at least one of the categories are accessed. The attributes associated with the identifier are compared to the stored attributes. Based on results of the comparison, at least one category within the list that corresponds to the identifier is identified, and the identifier is categorized into the identified category.

Abstract: A method for associating content with a category is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: receiving a request for associating content with a category, where the request carries a content reference; obtaining a category according to the content reference, and associating the content reference with the category. A system and device for associating content with a category are also disclosed by the embodiments of the invention. With the embodiments of the invention, the association request function provides a content reference in an association creating request; the association management function obtains a category according to the content reference, and associates the content reference with the category. In this way, it is possible to associate the content with the category based on only the content information when there is a lack of a category. Therefore, the existing association information may be fully utilized to optimize association relationship and save data flow.

Abstract: A system for retrieving health-related information includes at least one processor coupled to memory; a back-end subsystem for storing in the memory, illness and health-related information imported from external data-base sources. An information retrieval program stored in the memory is executable by the processor to search the external data-base sources for illness and health-related terms and definitions; organize the illness and health-related information in an internal data-base stored in the memory by categories according to illness names, and include an aggregation of synonyms of scientific and unofficial terms identifying the illness names in different languages; search in each category for health-related articles in at least one predetermined international scientific data-base; and populate the internal data-base with information related to the articles.

Abstract: The attribution information of a plurality of pieces of image data photographed by a plurality of photographing apparatus is obtained. The image data is classified into a predetermined time period on the basis of a photographing date and time obtained from the attribution information. The number of the photographing apparatus photographing the image data classified every predetermined time period is discriminated, and the image data classified into the time period in which the number of the pieces of image data is larger than a threshold value is extracted. The extracted image data is discriminated from the other image data to be displayed. Thereby, even if a plurality of pieces of still image data and moving image data photographed by a plurality of digital cameras and video cameras exists, a candidate of the image data relatively significant among them can be extracted easily.

An example of the method includes identifying a plurality of categories associated with the data. This example also includes, for each category in the plurality of categories, identifying at least one element associated with the category. This example also includes specifying a number of clusters to which the data may be assigned. This example additionally includes assigning at least some of the data, wherein each assigned datum is assigned to a respective one of the clusters. This example further includes, for at least one of the clusters, determining, for at least one category, the frequency in data assigned to the cluster of at least one element associated with the category. Further, some examples of the invention provide for detecting outliers, anomalies, and exemplars in the categorical data.

One embodiment of the method comprises: selecting a plurality of attributes from a group of attributes, each attribute describing a possible data item in a set of data; selecting a logic template from a group of logic templates, each logic template comprising a predetermined logic expression containing one or more variables; and assigning one or more selected attributes to each variable within the selected the logic template to produce a logic expression defining the data category. Abstract: The invention features a business method that takes advantage of the ability to convert unorganized information in the form of paper documents, document images, and electronic documents and converts the information to an organized electronic form referred to as Knowledge Objects. The invention further encompasses forming electronic Business Objects, such as documents and data sets, useful for business decision making and information exchange. The methods of the invention may utilize computerized storage and computerized decision-making systems to enable making more rapid critical business decisions.

Abstract: A system for classifying information comprises a group of at least four impact factors that includes confidentiality, legal applicability, integrity, and availability (130,140,150,160). The system also includes an impact level assigned to at least one impact factor in the group of at least four impact factors; and a classification level based upon a set of zero or more impact factors from the group of at least four impact factors. Inclusion of each impact factor in the set of zero or more impact factors is based at least in part upon a comparison of the impact level assigned to each impact factor to a predetermined impact level. Methods of using the system are also provided.
