  • Patent number: 11651469
Abstract: Artwork carrying machine readable data is generated by editing artwork according to a data signal or transforming the data signal into artwork. The machine-readable data signal is generated from a digital payload and converted into an image tile. Artwork is edited according to the image tile by moving graphic elements, adapting intersections of lines, or altering line density, among other techniques. Artwork is generated from the data signal by skeletonizing it and applying morphological operators to a skeletal representation, such as a medial axis transform. Artistic effects are introduced by filtering the data signal with directional blurring or shape filters.

  • Patent number: 10185856
Abstract: Methods and systems for rendering virtual displays using cryptographic symbols are disclosed. In one aspect, a display device is disclosed that includes a processor and data storage including instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the system to perform operations. The operations include emitting infrared light toward a cryptographic symbol associated with a surface, receiving a reflection of the emitted natural or man-made sunlight from the cryptographic symbol, and, based on the reflection, decrypting the cryptographic symbol to determine a unique identifier. The operations further include, based on the identifier, generating a first virtual display, and rendering the first virtual display on an image of the surface, through a heads up display, or projected onto the surface.

  • Patent number: 8825668
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer programs are presented for updating song playlists based on received rating inputs from user devices. One method includes receiving information associated with songs in an initial playlist from a host device by a server. The server generates a rating interface for the initial playlist, which is associated with an image code. The image code for the rating interface is sent to the host device so that the user devices can access the rating interface via the image code. After one or more user devices provides rating inputs to the songs in the initial playlist, the received one or more rating inputs are analyzed to produce an adjusted playlist. The method further includes transmitting the adjusted playlist to the host device to be executed.

Abstract: A semantic note taking system and method for collecting information, enriching the information, and binding the information to services is provided. User-created notes are enriched with labels, context traits, and relevant data to minimize friction in the note-taking process. In other words, the present invention is directed to collecting unscripted data, adding more meaning and use out of the data, and binding the data to services. Mutable and late-binding to services is also provided to allow private thoughts to be published to a myriad of different applications and services in a manner compatible with how thoughts are processed in the brain. User interfaces and semantic skins are also provided to derive meaning out of notes without requiring a great deal of user input. Linking physical objects to notes are also provided, such as through QR codes.

  • Publication number: 20090307232
Abstract: Processing a two dimensional (2D) barcode using a mobile telecommunications terminal having an image scanner includes obtaining a scanned image of the 2D barcode from the image scanner, decoding the image to obtain data, including a web address, and associating an identifier with the decoded web address, such that the identifier is identifiable by a remote proxy server to obtain information relating to the use of the barcode. A browser of the mobile terminal transmits a web page request including the decoded web address and the identifier. The web page request may be identified as originating from a 2D barcode at a server in a mobile telecommunications network. The request is received from a mobile terminal, an inserted identifier is identified in the request, and a record is saved, the record including an identifier of the mobile terminal or a user of the mobile terminal and the web page address.

  • Publication number: 20080071835
Abstract: A computer implemented method, and a carrier medium carrying computer code to implement the method to generate a customized “link collection” of topics and items attached to the topics related to a subject of interest to a group of people. The link collection includes items of information, provided, in one embodiment, in the form of URLs. A member of the link collection requires only a computer connected to a server system via a network such as the Internet. In one embodiment, access to the link collection is provided by a Web browser application running on the computer. The collection of attachments can be viewed and searched by a corresponding group of at least one user. The topics do not necessarily have a hierarchy, and a dynamic hierarchy may be defined in the process of a multi-step search.
