Abstract: An interface tool is provided. The interface includes an aggregator that collects input data from a user and transforms the input data to a form suitable by a business processing system. A format component receives output data from the business processing system and transforms the output data to a form suitable by a user.
Abstract: A brand engine receives a request from a user device operated by a first user to display user information of a second user. User information of the first user is mapped to at least the user information of the second user by the brand engine. The mapping may map the user information of the first user to user information of further users in a social network. The mapping may map of any combination of spatial, temporal, social, and topical data related to the users. A modified representation of received content is generated by the brand engine based on the mapping. The modified representation is transmitted to the user device. The user device displays the modified representation for the first user. The modified representation of the received content may include any combination of filtered and/or sorted content items, recommended content items, and/or modified content items.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and methods for identifying and correcting anomalies in web graphs. A web graph is transformed into a sequence of tokens via a walk algorithm. The sequence is fingerprinted to form a set of shingles. The singles are compared to shingles for other web graphs in order to determine similarity between web graphs. Actions are then carried out to remove anomalous web graphs and modify parameters governing web mapping in order to decrease the likelihood of future anomalous web graphs being built.
Abstract: The invention is natural language database querying (NLDQ), by a) allowing a user to type an information request using phrases stated in a natural language such as English, b) matching the phrases in the request to semantic objects stored in a hierarchy of ontologies, c) automatically converting the matched semantic phrases into the names of synchronized conceptual objects stored in the same taxonomy, d) automatically mapping the conceptual objects to metadata objects in one or more target databases; e) from the mapped metadata objects, generating a database query stated in a database language such as Structured Query Language (SQL), and f) executing the database query against the target database(s).
Abstract: Digit counts c? after the decimal point of attribute values in a structured document are acquired (S404). The detected attribute values are transformed into value character strings that represent integer values by manipulating the decimal point positions of the attribute values in accordance with a maximum digit count of the acquired digit counts (S406). The transformed value character strings and the maximum digit count C are encoded (S407).
Abstract: A method is provided for compressing data from a stream of values using one or many distinct memory addresses as workspace, each memory address containing one or many values. The method works by reading two contiguous data values, of length K and N bits, from the stream, as a memory address reference (MAR) and a symbol, respectively. If the symbol does not match any of the values in the memory address pointed to by MAR, the symbol replaces one of those values, and a MISS code, followed by the symbol, is appended to the compressed stream; otherwise, a HIT code is appended to the compressed stream, said code representing a function of the location where the matched value was found in the memory address. Advantageously, the workspace behaves analogous to a cache memory used in computer architecture, allowing hardware or software parallel implementations using content addressable memory or associative arrays.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for improving data warehouse performance are disclosed. An example method to format data received from a data warehouse includes receiving an analysis instruction, retrieving data from the data warehouse based on the analysis instruction, and associating a mapping file with a fact table, the mapping file stored in a first hierarchical directory file path.
Abstract: Techniques for implementing fast loading of binary XML into a binary XML database repository are provided. A client application reduces the processing burden on the repository by doing pre-processing of the binary XML data prior to loading.

Abstract: In order to achieve interoperability between diverse types of computer systems for the purpose of e-commerce, a system and method are provided for retrieving data from multiple relational databases into an XEDI document. First, a DTDSA is used to create an intermediate format for the data. Then, an annotated interoperable (universal) DTD is used to create the XEDI document. For depositing data from an XEDI document into multiple relational databases, a reverse process is used. The universal DTD is used to create the intermediate format. Then the DTDSA is used to create the relational database format. The deposit process requires analysis of join unions of data sought to be deposited, and also a static reversibility check for the DTDSA. A GUI interface is provided for generating annotations.
Abstract: A method for determining similarity of two policies includes providing a first policy with n rules and a second policy with m rules, wherein each rule is structured into a plurality of identifiable elements, categorizing the rules in each policy based on an action, for each pair of rules finding those predicates whose attribute names match, computing an attribute similarity score for the attribute values, summing the attribute similarity scores for all pairs to obtain an element similarity score, and computing a rule similarity score for the pair of rules from a weighted sum of said element similarity scores.

Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for compact representation of multiple markup data pages of electronic document data. Parsed electronic page content data is first received representing a plurality of markup pages. Element code data, attribute code data, attribute data type code data and relationship map data are then generated. The received parsed electronic page content data is then compressed using the generated code data and the relationship map data. The compact markup language data is stored based upon the output of the compressed parsed electronic page content data. In addition, the generated element code data, attribute code data, attribute data type code data, and relationship map data are stored. The parsed electronic page data is regenerated in accordance with the stored element code data, the stored attribute code data, the stored attribute data type code data, and the stored relationship map data.
Abstract: A method and system are provided for flexibly sectioning XML documents stored in a relational database system. The method includes obtaining a set of sectioning rules; receiving an XML document that is to be stored in the relational database system; and identifying a storage location for each node in the XML document based on the set of sectioning rules. The sectioning rules can also be used to determine which tables in the relational database should be queried when a query is received, and to determine which tables in the relational database should be updated when a command to update stored XML data is received.

Abstract: An email content management method, system and program are provided for mapping subsets of electronic mail (email) message content sent to one or more recipients with the same or similar names. Subsets of email message content are accentuated and designated for a predetermined recipient. Coordinates of the accentuated content are automatically generated and stored in a message recipient mapping table with display attributes and the email ID of the designated recipient. The recipient's email client receives the email, and if the recipient's email ID is present in the recipient mapping table, corresponding message content coordinates are retrieved and their associated display attributes are applied. The entirety of the email message content is displayed with subsets of the message content designated for the recipient accentuated according to their respective display attributes.
Abstract: A method for finding sets of two-dimensional data (S2DDs), which are similar to a target S2DD, is invented. The method leverages a new category of signatures, called equivalence signatures, to characterize the S2DDs. These signatures have the salient feature that, at worst, they change in a bounded manner when changes are made to the S2DD and when used to find S2DDs that are similar to a target S2DDs, they allow for a significant reduction in the number of SDDs to be compared with the target. This is an improvement over the state of the art wherein the computational expensive process of performing a complete search against the entire corpus must be applied.
Abstract: The present disclosure is concerned with generating a unique representation of a physical asset from a plurality of datasets representing information relating to the physical asset. Each dataset is generated by a system that acquires the dataset in a system-specific format. Each dataset that includes information about the attributes of a physical asset is mapped to a corresponding system-specific global dataset, based on a global data model. The global system-specific datasets generated are merged together to generate a global dataset, based on the global data model. The global dataset therefore uniquely represents the physical asset.
