  • Patent number: 8838782
Abstract: In a network protocol processing system in which variables of each of TCP transmission processing and TCP reception processing depend on each other, asynchronous parallel processing is realized between a transmission processing block and a reception processing block for updated protocol processing. Specifically, the system includes a high priority queue for transferring control data to be processed with high priority, a low priority queue for control data other than the above control data, and priority control means for distributing the control data to two kinds of queues. When a request for session establishment and the session disconnection of a new TCP session is issued from an application during transmission of TCP data, data related with the session establishment and the session disconnection is notified preferentially through the high priority queue, and other control data is transferred through the low priority queue.

  • Patent number: 8838780
Abstract: Embodiments generally disclosed herein include a computer-implemented method for monitoring and correlating network traffic data associated with a primary network that is in communication with a plurality of secondary networks. The method generates a network traffic data set by monitoring network traffic between the primary network and the plurality of secondary networks. The method also determines a mapping of network connectivity by monitoring inter-network routing information between the primary network and the plurality of secondary networks. In addition, the method generates a traffic measurement data set by monitoring network utilization statistics between the primary network and the plurality of secondary networks. With the collected data sets, the method then calculates a relational network mapping between the primary network and the plurality of secondary networks by correlating the network traffic data set, the mapping of network connectivity, and the traffic measurement data set.

  • Patent number: 8788570
Abstract: Described herein is a method and system for distributing requests and responses across a multi-core system. Each core executes a packet engine that further processes data packets allocated to that core. A flow distributor executing within the multi-core system forwards client requests to a packet engine on a core that is selected based on a value generated when a hash is applied to a tuple comprising a client IP address, a client port, a server IP address and a server port identified in the request. The packet engine maintains the client IP address, selects a first port of the core, and determines whether a hash of a tuple comprising those values identifies the selected core. A modification is then made to the client request so that the client request includes a tuple comprising the client IP address, the server IP address, the first port and the server port.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a security device monitors for outgoing re-transmission messages indicating that an endpoint located in a multi-homed network transmitted an unanswered initial connection request. Responsive to identifying one of the outgoing re-transmission messages, the security device identifies destination address information included in the identified re-transmission message. The security device then causes another security device associated with a different link of the same multi-homed network to update its internal state table according to the identified destination address information. As a result, a response to the outgoing re-transmission can be forwarded to the multi-homed network regardless of which security device receives the response.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a traffic control apparatus and the like for optimizing a communication performance of each of local networks to be monitored. The traffic control apparatus (100) temporarily stores in the memory (120) communication band information items of relay nodes (211B, 212B, 213B) through the I/O (140). The controller (110) specifies a bottleneck relay node based on the obtained communication band information items, calculates transmittable/receivable bands to be allocated to the PCs (220B), and notifies the PCs (220B) of the calculated transmittable/receivable bands. In response to this notification, the PCs (220B) divide data to be transmitted, with the divided data corresponding to the allocated bands, and transmit the divided data to the Internet (10), in a manner that the divided data are arranged temporally evenly.
