Abstract: Example access control techniques described herein are intended to enable guest access for a media playback system while maintaining security of the media playback system. An example implementation involves a computing device receiving a request to control a media playback system comprising a playback device. After receiving the request, the computing device obtains access to the media playback system. Obtaining access may involve obtaining a first identifier associated with the media playback system, obtaining a second identifier using the first identifier over a wide area network (WAN) with a computing system, and obtaining a token using the second identifier over the WAN with the computing system. The example implementation further involves receiving a request for the media playback system to perform an operation and causing the media playback system to perform the operation using the token.

Abstract: A network system for accessing situation related information is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a network connection for receiving an indication of an occurrence of a situation; a situational network formed based on the occurrence of the situation, the situational network including a plurality of participant devices determined to be geographically proximate to the situation, each of the participant devices corresponding to a participant in the situational network; a second network connection for presenting a roll call query to each of the plurality of participant devices soliciting a reply related to a status of the participant; a plurality of network connections established for receiving a status response from the participant devices; and a database for aggregating the status responses from responsive participants into a roll call list.

Abstract: In various exemplary embodiments, a security continuity system allows users to continue accessing certain user accounts (e.g., email, calendar, contacts, documents, instant messaging, cloud storage, etc.) through alternate logon identity credentials that are automatically provisioned such as when a security event is detected or suspected. The alternate logon identity credentials may be temporary (e.g., just used during security continuity until the original user logon identity credentials can be secured such as by establishing a new password or by having the user select a new logon identity) or permanent (e.g., the alternate logon identity can become the user's new logon identity). Security continuity may be invoked manually (e.g., by the user or by an administrator) or automatically when certain conditions are detected (e.g., through detection of suspicious activities such as repeated user lockouts due to multiple failed logon attempts or upon detection of a successful breach by an attacker).

Abstract: A system for continuous manageability of Kubernetes clusters is described. A system identifies a node, in a cluster of nodes, which failed to communicate with the cluster of nodes. The system identifies an application, which executed on the identified node, and which enabled continuous availability of cluster management for nodes in the cluster until when the identified node failed. The system identifies another node, which is already in the cluster of nodes, and which satisfies a prerequisite for executing the identified application, as a replacement node for the identified node that failed. The system installs the identified application on the replacement node in the cluster. The system enables, by the replacement node executing the identified application, continuous availability of cluster management for multiple nodes in the cluster.

Abstract: Embodiments are described for a system that automatically determines the ideal backup target to send backup data. Temporary backup targets are automatically created to handle backups for mobile data assets. A backup agent sends incremental backups to any temporary backup target (TBT), which are later consolidated with primary backup target (PBT) data. To facilitate data backup to a TBT and restore operations from data located on a PBT or TBT, a Backup Location Catalog (BLC) is created for each asset to reside on the asset. A Change Record Catalog (CRC) is created for each TBT backup per asset and each CRC resides on the asset until the associated data is consolidated back to the PBT. Assets thus have access to all backups, including the data on the TBT(s) before that data is consolidated back to the PBT.

Abstract: In response to a request to replicate resources from a primary region data center to a secondary region data center, an executable configuration file that describes the resources and their configuration is created utilizing information about the resources at the primary region data center. A correspondence table is also updated to include entries for to such resources. Utilizing the correspondence table, the executable configuration file is transformed to create a transformed executable configuration file that references the resources utilizing generic resource identifiers instead of primary region identifiers used within the primary region data center. The transformed executable configuration file is then executed at the secondary region data center to create replicated resources at the secondary region data center.

Abstract: A system includes a processing circuit including one or more processors coupled to non-transitory memory. The processing circuit is configured to: store a cookie associated with a user device of a user; receive a prefetch request based on the cookie for account information in advance of a user request for the account information; identify the user based on the stored cookie; verify the identity of the user based on a received credential regarding the user; perform asynchronous data gathering by receiving data intermittently over one or more network nodes to retrieve the account information based on the prefetch request and the verification of the identity of the user; and provide account information to an active cache of the user device that proactively updates stored account information. The account information is stored in the active cache of the user device for later retrieval.

Abstract: A failure recommendation system for a command line interface (CLI) uses machine learning to predict the most likely command to correct an unsuccessful or failed attempt to perform an intended operation using the CLI. The failure recommendation system is based on a conditional probability model trained on failure-success pairs of commands from CLI telemetry data to learn the most likely command to remediate a failure. The conditional probability model predicts the most likely command based on a failure type and the failed command. The failure type is identified through a failure type classifier and is used to select the most likely command to remediate a failure from the different events that may lead to a failure.

Abstract: Systems and methods for an improved High-Availability (HA) resource reservation approach are provided. According to one embodiment, for a given cluster of greater than two nodes in which a number (f) of concurrent node failures are to be tolerated, more efficient utilization of resources for an HA system may be achieved by distributing HA reserved capacity across more than f nodes of the cluster rather than naively concentrating the HA reserved capacity in f nodes. As node failures are not a common occurrence, those of the nodes of the cluster having HA reserved capacity may allow for some bursting of one or more units of compute executing thereon unless or until f concurrent node failures occur, thereby promoting more efficient utilization of node resources.

Abstract: An anomalous behavior is detected at an AI server device based on data communications managed by the wireless controller. In response to the detected behavior, a robot module can be deployed to a location of the anomalous behavior for testing. Once at the location, logs can be collected from testing or troubleshooting at the location and involving a remote access point proximate to the anomalous behavior (e.g., sniff and capture at specific channel or multiple channels in real-time). Solutions are generated from AI analysis concerning the anomalous behavior and priority level, including at least one automatically implemented solution to self-remediate the wireless network.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a memory architecture comprising a plurality of subarrays of memory cells, a plurality of sense amplifiers connected to the subarrays, a plurality of original pads, at least one redundant pad, multiple data lines, and a redundant register connected to the plurality of original pads, to the plurality of redundant pads and to the data lines. The redundant register implementing an interconnection redundancy and connecting one of the redundant pads to the data lines when an addressed original pad is found defective. The disclosure also relates to a System-on-Chip (SoC) component comprising a memory architecture, and an interconnection redundancy managing block included into the memory architecture. A related memory component and related methods for managing interconnection redundancy of the memory architecture and/or the SoC are also disclosed.

Abstract: A conflict-free method of independently governing user authority across one or more devices includes managing user and device authority without the use of a centralized server. The conflict-free method utilizes a conflict-free replicated data type (CRDT) which resolves potential conflicts between merging linear sequences. A first linear sequence at a first electronic device merges with a second linear sequence at a second electronic device. The first linear sequence and the second linear sequence are different due to independent processes performed on devices that are not connected via a network at some point in time. Potential conflicts between the first linear sequence and the second linear sequence are resolved in accordance with CRDTs.

The services respectively are configured to process data that is stored in or is received for being stored in a database managed by the DBMS. The method comprises providing a service manager operatively coupled to the DBMS; registering the multiple services automatically and dynamically at runtime of the DBMS at the service manager; and automatically managing, by the service manager, dependencies between different ones of the multiple registered services.

Abstract: A new approach is proposed that contemplates systems and methods to support quick recovery of an appliance by adopting a multi-layered filesystem having a plurality of layers that enables recovery and restoration of the appliance to factory default settings in seconds. In some embodiments, the multi-layered filesystem adopts a copy-on-write paradigm for all I/O operations to the appliance to create and superimpose an overlay layer by copying data from a read-only bottom layer of the appliance for modification and recovery of the appliance. The plurality of layers of the multi-layered filesystem are also tied to a general-purpose reset button or a software interface for implementation of an instant factory reset feature. When a reset signal is sent via the reset button or the software interface, one or more of the plurality of layers of the multi-layered filesystem are modified accordingly to provide a clean factory-reset of the appliance.

Abstract: A database replication system comprises a plurality of replica data nodes and a master data node. The master data node is configured with an acknowledgement requirement that comprises an acknowledgement threshold that is less than a total number of data nodes in a plurality of data nodes. The master data node is configured to send, to the plurality of replica data nodes, a transaction log record that includes an update to data in the master database that has not been committed to the master database, receive acknowledgements of the transaction log records and based on a determination that the received acknowledgements of the transaction log record meet the acknowledgement requirement, set the transaction log record as a master node last acknowledged transaction log record in a master node transaction log. The last acknowledged transaction log record can be used to control recovery.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a processing device configured to identify compute nodes installed in a chassis of a modular server, and to determine a health status of the compute nodes. Each monitoring node may also generate a session message comprising status information, and a plurality of failover nodes may receive the generated session messages. A failover node may then determine whether a failover condition has occurred by applying a plurality of failover rules to the status information of the transmitted session message. Where the failover node determines that a failover condition has occurred, the failover node may activate another storage manager to take place of the presently assigned storage manager.

A first request to launch a virtual machine is received, the first request including a session network identifier to identify a network of a distributed data processing application cluster hosted by the provider network. The first virtual machine is launched. An internet protocol (IP) address of the first virtual machine is set, and the IP address of the first virtual machine is formed at least in part by combining an IP subnet assigned to the computer system with the session network identifier. A firewall controlling network traffic to and from the first virtual machine is configured to allow packets having a source or destination address that matches a portion of the IP address of the first virtual machine that includes the session network identifier.

For example, the first network device detects an issue with sending telemetry data to the cloud-based WAN assurance system via a first communication path. In response, the first network device determines a second network device that has connectivity to the WAN assurance system. The first network device sends diagnostics data to the second network device along a second communication path for forwarding to the cloud-based WAN assurance system. The cloud-based WAN assurance system receives the diagnostics data from the second network device. The cloud-based WAN assurance system controls the second network device to remediate the first network device based on the diagnostics data.

Abstract: A computing environment, such as a cloud computing environment, may include nodes performing NAT for a plurality of workloads. An active node performs NAT for the workloads, including maintaining a NAT table. The active node may create sub-interfaces for the workloads and function as a DHCP server. The NAT table and sub-interfaces may be recreated on a standby node. Upon detecting failure, a routing table is updated to direct workloads to connect to the standby node and traffic may continue to be processed by the standby node without disrupting network or application sessions.

At a first smart NIC of the plurality of smart NICs, the method stores a set of dynamic state information. A platform framework of an IHS (Information Handling System) generates a resource dependency graph based on registrations of a plurality of platform framework participants, wherein the registrations of the participants specify use of resources accessed via the platform framework. A change in context of operation of the IHS is determined. Based on the context change, a change is determined in the availability of resources accessed via the platform framework. Based on the resource dependency graph, registered participants are identified that are affected by the change in platform framework resource availability. The affected participants are notified of the change in platform framework resource availability. In some embodiments, the registrations of the participants may specify a communication handle for notifying the participant of changes in the resource dependency graph.

Abstract: Failover of a Docker container between nodes of a cluster is orchestrated to enable the Docker container's data to be made available across all nodes of the cluster. Using this orchestration system, if a second cluster node is selected to be used to bring up a Docker container, the orchestration system coordinates destroying the previous Docker volumes on the first cluster node, unmounting a physical device containing the application data from the first cluster node's virtual filesystem, remounting the physical device containing the application data in the virtual filesystem of the second cluster node, creating a Docker volume referencing the application data on the second cluster node, and using the Docker volume to start a new instance of the Docker container on the second cluster node. This enables the Docker container to be started on any node of a cluster and have the application data available as a local filesystem.

If a main data center of the event processing system fails, a backup data center may take over instantly event processing from the main data center and may prevent events that have been processed by the main data center from being processed. Multiple data centers may work together and process events in an active-active mode by offering the exactly once processing as well as removing any duplicate events from upstream systems.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for proactively and adaptively rerouting data to a healthier path through network, as part of flow provisioning, based on environmental variables associated with devices in the network. The present technology includes identifying a routing path for forwarding traffic flows in a network, receiving diagnostic data of a routing device on the routing path. The diagnostic data include one or more environmental parameters associated with internal state and surroundings of the routing device. Further, the present technology includes comparing the diagnostic data of the routing device with a predetermined threshold and modifying, prior to a failure of the routing device, the routing path to bypass the routing device for at least a portion of the traffic flows based on the comparison between the diagnostic data of the routing device and the predetermined threshold.

Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling model-driven server migration workflows in a cloud provider network. Cloud provider networks often provide various types of tools and services that enable users to migrate computing resources (e.g., servers, databases, applications, etc.) from users' on-premises computing environments to a cloud provider network. A model-driven server migration service as described herein comprises a plurality of modular migration components including, e.g., a snapshot validation component, a snapshot conversion component, an injection component, etc. The model-driven server migration service enables users to customize server migration workflows using server migration templates containing descriptive configurations for some or all of the provided migration components.

Abstract: Systems for application configuration backup and restore. Techniques establish high frequency restore points of application configuration metadata. Processing commences upon receiving instructions to periodically take snapshots of application configuration metadata. To avoid incurring unnecessary costs to process snapshots of application configuration metadata when the application configuration metadata is slow-changing, the method performs a low-cost check to get the latest update time of the application configuration metadata. That time is compared to the time of the most recent snapshot of the application configuration metadata. When the time of the latest update time of the application configuration metadata is equal to the time of the most recent snapshot of the application configuration metadata, then rather than incurring the cost of generating a duplicate snapshot, the method waits for a duration without generating a new snapshot.

Abstract: Disclosed are a cluster quorum method and apparatus, an electronic device, and a computer-readable storage medium. The method includes: acquiring a historical election set, and obtaining a first node quantity and a power condition by using the historical election set; generating a quorum parameter by using the first node quantity according to the power condition; acquiring a current network topology, and judging whether the current network topology satisfies the quorum parameter; and if the current network topology satisfies the quorum parameter, providing a cluster service. According to the method, a new network topology after a failure is not required to include the majority of nodes in an original cluster, whereby the network topology can continue to work no matter a quantity of nodes in the network topology while data consistency is ensured, improving viability of the cluster.

Abstract: A node may be an active node associated with a high-availability service and may route session traffic communicated via a first route path between a first endpoint and a second endpoint. The node may determine a first measurement of a traffic metric of the first route path and may receive, from another node associated with the high-availability service, a second measurement of the traffic metric of a second route path. The node may compare the first measurement and the second measurement and determine that the traffic metric is enhanced on the second route path relative to the first route path. The node may cause, via a high-availability link between the node and the other node, the other node to become the active node for routing the session traffic between the first endpoint and the second endpoint.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a state management method, a method for switching between a master application server and a backup application server, and an electronic device. In present disclosure, the management server updates the recorded backup application server state in time by querying for the connection state of the hot-backup connection between the master application server and the backup application server, and when the master application server is in failure, instead of immediately controlling the master application server and the backup application server to perform switching between the master and backup application servers, the management server controls the master application server and the backup application server to perform master-backup switching between the application servers according to the recorded backup application server state.
