Reintegrate Node Back Into Network Patents (Class 714/4.21)
  • Patent number: 11875217
Abstract: An information processing apparatus generates a command for a communication terminal apparatus and a retry command and successively outputs the generated command and retry command to an information processing terminal apparatus. The information processing terminal apparatus acquires the command for the communication terminal apparatus and the retry command that have successively been output from the information processing apparatus and outputs the acquired command to the communication terminal apparatus. Further, in a case of performing a retry process due to unavailability of a response to the command, the information processing terminal apparatus outputs the acquired retry command to the communication terminal apparatus. The retry process can be performed without waiting for the information processing terminal apparatus to output a command request to the information processing apparatus and acquire a retry command.

Abstract: Identifying unreported issues in computing applications based on customer service interactions and website analytics. A computing system may receive communication data between a CSP and a user. The system may analyze the communication data using an NLP algorithm to identify a plurality of concepts in the communication data. The system may identify, based on the concepts, a target application associated with the communications between the CSP and the user. The system may receive analytics data from a web server hosting the target application and identify a feature of the target application that is not functioning. The system may then assign a priority to the feature of the target application that is not functioning based on a type of the feature and the received analytics data and generate a service issue record for the feature of the target application that is not functioning and the assigned priority.

  • Patent number: 11003633
Abstract: An analysis data collector stores data acquired with an analytical instrument in a file to which a data ID has been given, and registers the file in a database. A log information collector registers, in the database, log information which shows various operations on each analytical instrument or client terminal, state of the device or the like. After data files are selected, a command to create an audit trail is issued, whereupon an audit trail information extractor collects information corresponding to those data files. The audit trail information extractor extracts each piece of log information containing the data ID and pieces of log information which contain the device ID and user ID and were obtained within a time range from login to logout including the date and time of registration. An audit trail creator creates an audit trail by organizing the log information in time-series order, and registers it.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to modify the authentication level of a session providing access to resources. In some embodiments, an access management system is configurable to enable voluntary (e.g., request by a user) or involuntary (e.g., by the access management system) reduce, or “step-down” the authentication level for a session if a lower authentication level exists. For example, an access management system may be configured to enable a user to request a step-down of the authentication level of a session to prevent access to resources at a higher authentication level. By reducing the authentication level to a lower authentication level, a user may be prompted to provide credentials for authentication according to the authentication schemes defined for higher authentication levels. These techniques can reduce, if not prevent, unauthorized access to protected resources by challenging a user for credentials to authenticate to higher authentication levels.

Abstract: Various systems and methods can discover asymmetric logical unit (LUN) access (ALUA) preferences and/or state transitions and use those preferences and/or state transitions to control how a host accesses a LUN in an ALUA array. One such method involves detecting a preferred controller for a LUN and then detecting that a current owner controller of the LUN is not the preferred controller. In response, the method can initiate an ownership change from the current owner controller to the preferred controller. Another method involves detecting an initial state of a first controller with respect to a LUN. The method then detects a subsequent state of the first controller with respect to the LUN subsequent to detecting the initial state. The method can then cause a computing device to access the LUN via a second controller, in response to the subsequent state not being the active optimized state.

Abstract: A quorum service within a cluster infrastructure layer of a cluster environment comprising a plurality of nodes automatically triggers at least one automated fencing operation integrated within the quorum service, to reliably maintain a node usability state of each node of the plurality of nodes indicating an availability of each node to control and access at least one shared resource of the cluster. The quorum service reports the node usability state of each node as a cluster health status to at least one distributed application within an application layer of the cluster environment, to provide a reliable cluster health status of the plurality of nodes to the at least one distributed application for a failover of said at least one shared resource from control by a failed node from among the plurality of nodes to another node from among the plurality of nodes.

  • Patent number: 8576725
Abstract: A first communication device detects a failure on a communication channel of a primary network. Based on the failure, the first communication device sends communications directed to a second communication device to a secondary network. A secondary network domain controller sends the communications to the primary network via a different communication channel. This can be done by looking at an identifier such as an IP address. This can also happen based on being able to communicate between the secondary network and the primary network via the different communication channel. The primary network then sends the communication to the second communication device. In addition, communications from the second communication device are routed in a similar manner to the first communication device. Sending the communications back into the primary network allows users to have access to features not provided by the secondary network.

  • Patent number: 8555042
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for resetting and bypassing microcontroller stations. A command module asserts and de-asserts a reset line in response to a command. A reset module resets a microcontroller station if the command module asserts and de-asserts the reset line within a time interval. In addition, the reset module bypasses the microcontroller station if the command module asserts and holds the reset line for a time period exceeding the time interval.

  • Patent number: 8504869
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method is disclosed for recovering a failed client device in a network. The method includes booting a failed one of a plurality of client devices in the network with a generic image having a generic kernel usable with each of the plurality of client devices. The method further includes downloading, using said generic kernel, from at least one backup server an abbreviated kernel uniquely associated with the failed client device, the abbreviated kernel comprising substantially less data than an original kernel of the failed client device immediately prior to failure of the failed client device, the abbreviated kernel comprising a boot kernel image and at least one device driver. The method includes swapping the abbreviated kernel with the generic kernel; restoring, using said abbreviated kernel, remaining backup data from the at least one backup server to the failed client device; and rebooting the failed client device.

Abstract: Example systems and methods associated with router synchronization are described. One example method includes reducing a likelihood that a first network device will be favored over a peer device as a router. This likelihood may be increased after the first network device has received a threshold amount of routing information from the peer device. This may allow the first network device to begin performing non-routing related tasks after it starts up without causing interruption of data streams for which the first network device does not have current routing information.

  • Patent number: 8117488
Abstract: Database server instances in a database server cluster broadcast, to other instances in the cluster, information concerning certain problem events. Because each server instance is aware of problems that other server instances are experiencing, each server instance is enabled to make more intelligent decisions regarding the actions that it should perform in response to the problems that the server instance is experiencing. Instead of terminating itself, a server instance might opt to wait for a longer amount of time for an operation to complete. The server instance may do so due to the server instance having received information that indicates that other server instances are experiencing similar problems. Whenever the information received from other server instances makes it appear that a problem is unlikely to be solved in the cluster as a whole by terminating a server instance, that server instance may continue to wait instead of terminating itself.
