Hardware Arrangements For Backup (epo) Patents (Class 714/E11.12)
  • Patent number: 11954353
Abstract: In an approach to improve magnetic tape file systems through tape-to-tape copying between nodes on a Linear Tape File System using a cluster-wide named pipe. Embodiments transfer data between a first node and a second node. Additionally, both the first node and the second node implement a parallel shared-disk file system through a data path for node data reading and writing from a shared-disk and to the shared-disk. Further, to transfer data between the first node and the second node, embodiments, write, by the first node, the data for tape-to-tape copy from a first tape drive to the shared-disk, and write, by the second node, the data written from the shared-disk to a second tape drive.

Abstract: Disclosed by the present application are a system and method for multi-device media data management, and a robot device. A detection module detects a device located within a detection range, and determines according to a detection result whether to add the device to a device management list. A storage module obtains media data generated by each device in the device management list and stores the media data in a backup system in association with a corresponding tag. An instruction module receives an instruction of a user and analyzes the content of the instruction, the content comprising a tag and management type corresponding to the media data. A management module performs a management operation on corresponding media data according to the analyzed content.

Abstract: In a data backup method, after data backup is triggered, a backup server sends a change information obtaining request to a file server to request change information of data on the file server. The backup server receives a data change record returned by a file server, wherein the data change record comprises identification information of a changed data block. The backup server then obtains data according to the data change record, backs up the obtained data, and establishes a data mapping relationship for the current backup. When data of a backup needs to be obtained, data of a corresponding data block is found in the backup storage device according to the data mapping relationship.

Abstract: Aspects and features of the present disclosure can prefetch metadata in the nodes of a cloud-based storage system. At a node that stores at least one shard of a data object, metadata for the data object can be fetched from node storage and saved in a node cache prior to processing a read request for the shard. The metadata can be cached in response to a prefetch request transmitted to the node, for example, by the gateway that shards data objects for the storage system. Thus, the metadata can be available in the node cache when the read request for the data shard arrives later, reducing delays in accessing data object shards from the storage nodes of the system.

  • Patent number: 11599090
Abstract: To improve integrity of time synchronization, a node in the safety rated system takes steps to ensure the time to which it is synchronized has not become corrupted. The node receives a synchronize request message from an adjacent network device, which includes the master time, and the node generates an offset value corresponding to a difference between a local time and the master time. The node stores the offset time into a safety memory to ensure that the offset value has data integrity and does not become corrupted. The node performs periodic skew detection between two devices to verify that the clocks remain synchronized. In addition, the node performs a local drift detection to detect if the frequency of the local oscillator on which the local clock value is based begins to change.
