If search processing for searching for detailed information of a headword based on a received input is performed while an image is being displayed, the electronic device causes the headword corresponding to the detailed information searched for by the search processing and image information identifying the image being displayed to be stored in an associated manner. When the image identified by the image information is displayed, the electronic device causes the headword associated with the image information to be further displayed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing print jobs associated with multiple customers. Customer-editable design templates for printed products and design software tools enabling creation by customers of custom print product designs are provided, via a network, to multiple customers operating corresponding electronic devices. Individual print jobs corresponding to custom print product designs created by multiple different customers via the electronic devices are received and automatically aggregated into an aggregate print job comprising individual print jobs from different customers. The aggregated individual print jobs in the aggregate print job are printed simultaneously on one or more units of a shared substrate when the aggregate print job is printed.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for automatically linking a cursor to a hotspot in a hypervideo stream comprising a plurality of video frames that are associated with at least one user selectable hotspot. One method includes establishing an association between a selectable hotspot in a first activation region of a first video frame received for presentation in a video presentation space and a cursor when a first position of the cursor is within the first activation region corresponding to the selectable hotspot. The method also includes receiving a second video frame that includes the selectable hotspot in a second activation region different from the first activation region, and determining whether a second position of the cursor is outside of the second activation region of the second video frame.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method, a computer program product, a segmentation system and a user interface for structuring an unstructured text by making use of statistical models trained on annotated training data. The method performs text segmentation into text sections and assigns labels to text sections as section headings. The performed segmentation and assignment is provided to a user for general review. Additionally, alternative segmentations and label assignments are provided to the user being capable to select alternative segmentations and alternative labels as well as to enter a user defined segmentation and user defined label. In response to the modifications introduced by the user, a plurality of different actions are initiated incorporating the re-segmentation and re-labeling of successive parts of the document or the entire document.

A content retrieval system hosted on a physical server or a cloud continuously monitors user data hosted on a third party server for changes to the data. The method involves creation of an index list that is updated periodically to keep track of changes to the metadata associated with the user's content. Such an approach saves time and valuable resources to individuals and/or organizations enabling them to perform periodic monitoring of their data, and enabling rollback to a previous version of their data whenever needed. The system additionally monitors user content for malicious attacks and hacks, and provides notification alerts relating to the same.

Abstract: Content stitching techniques are described in which templates may be created to define a structure for a presentation. Each template may stitch together building blocks associated with different types of content to specify a pre-arranged sequence for content items. Additionally, the templates may include timing data, transitions, and control data to facilitate managed switching back and forth between different types of content in an automatic, seamless manner. The templates are configured to separate the presentation structure from actual content items selected for a particular presentation and may be reusable to produce different presentations based on the same template that are associated with different content. In one approach, content descriptors included in a template may be set differently for individual presentations to designate and arrange content items to create each individual presentation based on the template.

Abstract: A vector graphics classification engine and associated method for classifying vector graphics in a fixed format document is described herein and illustrated in the accompanying figures. The vector graphics classification engine defines a pipeline for categorizing vector graphics parsed from the fixed format document as font, text, paragraph, table, and page effects, such as shading, borders, underlines, and strikethroughs. Vector graphics that are not otherwise classified are designated as basic graphics. By sequencing the detection operations in a selected order, misclassification is minimized or eliminated.

Abstract: A mobile device comprises a sensor to produce image data containing a visual representation of a plurality of physical notes, each of the physical notes comprising separate physical objects, a processor, and at least one module. Abstract: In the field of mobile computing, a user of a mobile device takes a picture of a nearby landmark or building or street and transmits that picture via his device's wireless link to a remote server. The server has the capability of identifying the location from the photo by matching it against publicly available online collections of images, such as Flickr. The server executes a location identification algorithm to match the received photo to those in the collection to determine the actual location of the photo. Typically the images in the collections have metadata, such as textual tags. Upon identifying the most likely location of the received photo from the user, the server transmits back to the user's mobile computing device an indication of the location, such as a textual location description from the tag, a map or directions to a particular location. This is especially useful in a city or dense urban environment and where the mobile computing device does not have GPS capability or its GPS is inoperative.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to document generation, and more particularly to a system and method for generating an audio-animated document. In one embodiment, a method for generating an audio-animated document is disclosed, comprising: obtaining an extensible markup language (XML) file from a database, wherein the XML file comprises data corresponding to transactional activities over a time interval; identifying a set of phrases and one or more images from a resource library based on the XML file; generating a playback text using the set of phrases, the one or more images, the data, and a set of rules; providing one or more audio files corresponding to the playback text; and generating the audio-animated document based on the data, the one or more images, and the one or more audio files.

Abstract: Dynamic web page generation is optimized by reducing the processing overhead required to parse the web page HTML code for tokens and insert dynamic content. Using the invention, an HTML file for a dynamic web page need be read and parsed only once throughout the life of the server. A software object parses the HTML, decomposes the page into constituent pieces and saves them to data structures as byte streams, which are cached, along with the software object, rendering multiple disk accesses unnecessary when the page is reconstituted. For subsequent requests, the dynamic page is created from the cached version, which is shareable across users and across requests. The optimization reduces server resource usage for dynamic page generation to near zero. The invention is also applicable to other documents combining static and dynamic content that require composition tools for editing.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for providing access to a channel via an embedded web event channel player. In exemplary embodiments, an embeddable code associated with the channel is provided to a channel owner. Once embedded, the code will provide an instance of the channel player on a user's device that can access the channel. A list of events is aggregated and provided for the channel associated with the channel player. Upon a request by a user, an event from the list of events may be streamed to the channel player.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for applying and synchronizing filter information with a multimedia presentation, such as a movie provided in a video-on-demand context, to suppress objectionable content. In one example, filter information, which includes an indicia of a portion of the multimedia presentation including objectionable content and a type of suppression action, is provided on either a set-top-box or a video-on-demand server. A user selects a particular video-on-demand presentation, and the selection is transmitted to the set-top-box. Filtering may take place at the set-top-box side such that the complete video-on-demand movie is transmitted to the set-top box and then content suppression, such as skipping, muting, cropping, and blurring, takes place at the set-top-box. Alternatively, some or all suppression may take place at the server such that some or all of the objectionable content is not transmitted to the set-top-box.

Abstract: According to a preferred aspect of the instant invention, there is provided a system and method for supplementing a multimedia work with content from the Internet. The instant method utilizes a combined multimedia editing and browsing functionality in one multimedia editing program. The instant invention will make it possible for casual users to be able to extract multimedia data from a website and include that data in a project. Multimedia content that is not supported by the editing component will be automatically converted to a format that is supported.
