Abstract: A required number of images for creating an album are compensated using existing still images, and an album with a fine appearance is created by effectively using a small number of available still images (still images in stock). A value N, which is obtained by subtracting the total number of selected images from the total number of images that a template of a photo album requires (the total number of combination frames), is determined as the minimum number of shortfall images that are required for compensating the shortage of images. An image (original image for creation) appropriate for the original, from which images for compensating the shortage of images are created, is selected from among selected images. New images are created by applying a predetermined image processing to the selected original image for creation, until the minimum number N of shortfall images is satisfied.

Abstract: Differential dynamic content delivery including providing a session document for a presentation, wherein the session document includes a session grammar and a session structured document; selecting from the session structured document a classified structural element in dependence upon user classifications of a user participant in the presentation; presenting the selected structural element to the user; streaming presentation speech to the user including individual speech from at least one user participating in the presentation; converting the presentation speech to text; detecting whether the presentation speech contains simultaneous individual speech from two or more users; and displaying the text if the presentation speech contains simultaneous individual speech from two or more users.

Abstract: Common metadata exposure with digital images involves making image metadata types that are common across multiple image file formats accessible via an application programming interface (API). In an example embodiment, a browser exposes an image metadata API that may be called with reference to a preselected image metadata name. The browser determines an image metadata value that is associated with the preselected image metadata name from image metadata of a targeted image. When the image metadata value is returned to a caller of the image metadata API, the caller may consume or present the image metadata value in any manner.

Abstract: A system and method for improving electronic presentations is provided. The system may automatically improve an electronic presentation. An input presentation may be analyzed and various parameters may be computed. Based on text and/or other analysis, images and/or other objects may be selected to be included in a generated electronic presentation. A design scheme may be automatically selected. An improved electronic presentation may be automatically generated based on an original presentation, user selected parameters, text and/or other analysis of the original presentation and a set of rules, criteria and parameters.

Abstract: A web page or group of pages can be automatically generated based on images selected by a user. The images are analyzed for color and groups of colors for the page background and image framing are determined. Images are analyzed to determine the shapes of the images and the images are placed within appropriate shapes on a page on the web. Click-through rate can be estimated for images and this click-through rate used during the web page generation. Important sections are evaluated in the images and cropping may occur for the images on a page. Text and video can be part of the web page. Software applications can be accessed from the web page as well. The online web pages can be tailored for presentation on a mobile device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for generating direct speech messages based on voice commands that include indirect speech messages. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a voice input corresponding to an utterance. A determination is made whether a transcription of the utterance includes a command to initiate a communication to a user and a segment that is classified as indirect speech. In response to determining that the transcription of the utterance includes the command and the segment that is classified as indirect speech, the segment that is classified as indirect speech is provided as input to a machine translator. In response to providing the segment that is classified as indirect speech to the machine translator, a direct speech segment is received from the machine translator. A communication is initiated that includes the direct speech segment.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide for the efficient application of a system font mapping to a design. Specific embodiments of the invention involve creating a design environment for a user that is configured to display a design. The design environment allows a user to apply a design font to text in the design. The user is also allowed to define a mapping from the design font to a target font. These embodiments also include generating a markup language representation of the design and applying the mapping to the design. The text is linked to the design font using an encoding prior to the generating step, and the text is linked to fonts in the markup language representation using a different encoding.

Abstract: A method and system for a single integrated computerized scrapbook system operable on a computing device connected to the Internet for providing a single integrated online scrapbooking solution, the system provides a method for storing and manipulating digital images on a computer. The application provides a user with tools for collecting, processing and cataloging digital and supply inventory. The user is able to combine the digital images, digital inventory and supply inventory in a manner for creating new digital projects. Finally, the user may print, publish or share the new digital projects, digital inventory and supply inventory via an online community.

Abstract: Systems and methods of automated document composition using clusters are disclosed. In an example, a method comprises determining a plurality of composition scores ?A(A, B), the composition scores each computing separately on a plurality of worker nodes in the cluster. The method also includes determining coefficients (?i(A) at a master node in the cluster based on the composition scores (?i) from each of the worker nodes. The method also includes outputting an optimal document (D*) using the coefficients (?i).

Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, it has been difficult to perform an operation to embed an object into electronic data generated by reading a document. A document is read optically and digitized in accordance with a predetermined file format, and whether there is an area into which an object can be embedded in image data obtained by digitization is determined. In a case where it is determined that there is the area into which an object can be embedded, an image representing an object is embedded into the area.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for enabling storytelling on a computing device. A processor analyzes a set of media items associated with the user, each media item having associated metadata. The processor identifies one or more related characteristics among the media items in the set to form a cluster of media items associated with an event associated with the user. The processor selects, based on analysis of the media items in the cluster, templates from a template database, each template of the plurality of templates configured to represent a moment in the event. The processor edits selected media items in the cluster to fit into the selected templates. The processor scores each selected template based on the metadata associated with the selected media items in the selected template. The processor creates a mixed-media module of predetermined duration comprising the templates organized into a desired sequence.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for automatically generating an inspiration board. The system and method involves inputting at least one term into a computer system. Based on the inputted term, at least one image is selected from a database of images stored in the computer system and at least one pattern from a database of patterns stored in the computer system. The inspiration board is assembled by the computer system using the image and the pattern.

Abstract: A system and method for loading and playing multimedia information are disclosed. A navigator sends a series of play orders that each play order demands for playing a corresponding multimedia segment. A playing engine demands a loader to provide the corresponding multimedia segment according to related play order. A decoder is used to decode the provided multimedia segment for playback. Each play order may be delivered even the multimedia segment corresponding to its previous play order has not been played completely yet. The information discontinuity disadvantage can be eliminated since there is a smooth multimedia information stream provided for the decoder.

Abstract: Content items are obtained and dynamically arranged in tiles within columns (e.g. columns of a same size) on a display. The obtained items, along with previously obtained items that have not been rendered, are sorted based on a time such as a creation time and a modified time for the item. A determination is made using the sorting as to whether any of the items are ready to render. The determination of whether an item is ready to render may be made before all of the content items are obtained. A layout within the tile(s) for the column for the ready to render items is determined. For example, the items may be placed in tiles based on their content (e.g. text content placed in smaller sized tiles as compared to rich content). The items ready to render are then sent for rendering.

For example, basic reproduction time of 5 seconds is assigned to image No. 3.

Abstract: A system for and method of enhancing web page delivery and visitor tracking. The invention provides the ability to control redirection of Web traffic of humans. It can identify visitors to a Web page, track their movements, log critical information, and analyze the Web traffic in order to judge the success in driving quality traffic to some known goal on a Web site, such as a sale. The system tracks visitors via use of redirection with an image tag. The invention can also use unique image marker references to prevent browsers from accessing cached images.

Abstract: A streaming composition system is described herein that provides easy workflow and playback capabilities for content producers to create composite media assets from existing and on-going media content and for streaming clients to seamlessly playback composite multimedia streams provided from different sources. These assets provide broadcasters an option to quickly turn around highlights for an on-going event. The streaming composition system allows a producer to identify clips within existing media assets and compose the clips into a new unified streaming presentation. For producers that already have smooth streaming media assets, the system leverages these assets to provide seamless playback across clip boundaries including advanced playback support for advertisement insertion, fast forward, rewind, and so on.

Abstract: A system and a method that allow a user to input user effects to an e-book and plays back them, in order, according to a user's set output order are provided. The digital magazine server receives a request to create the section that includes the search query and applies the search query to one or more sources. A section of the digital magazine including various content items satisfying the search query is generated and presented to the user requesting creation of the section as well as additional users of the digital magazine server.

Abstract: A technique involves allowing use of content only if the content has been approved for the use. The content can be stored in a universal content format to facilitate cross-platform approval in a single approval transaction. The content can include granular content items incorporated into larger documents. In a specific implementation, it is possible to grant approval for one or more of the granular content items.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and sharing interactive charts are described. The interactive charts are generated in an online portal that allows users to customize the interactive features of the chart. An exemplary interactive feature includes an interactive audio feature. The interactive chart can be shared by, for example, embedding the interactive chart in an external electronic document, such as a .ppt or PDF document, that can be shared with other users. The interactive chart and/or the data associated with the interactive chart may also be purchased through an online store environment or otherwise shared with other users.

Abstract: An arrangement is provided where all applications in an interactive media environment run on a single application thread in a media player. Event queues are utilized to schedule the application thread's processing of workitems corresponding to events that occur in the environment. Workitems include methods to be invoked when the workitem is processed and arguments for the method. Workitems further include a begin time and an end time and are ordered in the event queue first by begin time followed by the order in which they were inserted into the queue. The application thread marks workitems whose begin times corresponds to the current or previous time and then processes marked workitems from the queue in order. Such processing is committed so that once the application thread begins processing of a workitem it does not stop. Workitems are dropped from the event queue if their end times have been passed.

Abstract: A multimedia processing device implements a script having a data structure that is formed of a drawing information describing portion where media data is chronologically described, and a user navigation information describing portion where correspondence between events and actions and implementation conditions are chronologically described. The multimedia processing device implements this script, and thereby, media data is chronologically reproduced, and at the same time, a user interface showing operations that can be chronologically carried out is outputted. Then, a predetermined process, such as an insertion of media data, can be implemented by carrying out the operations following the user interface according to predetermined timing.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for arranging photographs, drawings, videos and other media elements in a logical and visually appealing manner. Media elements may be selected, automatically or manually arranged in a progression to collectively tell a complete narrative. The arrangement for the progression may provide some direction but not limit the creator to sending single elements at a time, or using templates, pages, folders, or albums. Images may be intelligently placed and/or sized. When viewing the story, a viewer can advance through the media and understand the full story or perspective. A user may resize, move, delete or add images to enhance the story. The story may be shared with others, some or all of which may also collaborate to add or change the story progression to provide different perspectives or content.

Various embodiments are particularly useful for displaying lists of files that a content sharer shares with a content recipient via a URL within the context of a synched file sharing system.

Abstract: Various embodiments herein provide at least one of systems, methods, and software for visualization of content files within a package file. A package file is a data file that includes other files stored therein. Some embodiments include authoring a package file by adding a content file to the package file and associating the added content file with a data visualizer. When the content file is selected for viewing from the package file, the data visualizer associated with the content file is used to provide a view of data within the content file. Other embodiments are directed to viewing a content file of a package file utilizing an associated data visualizer.
