Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) based computer systems and methods are disclosed for autonomously creating customer service help guides via a graphic user interface (GUI). Computing instructions operating on processor(s) are configured to automatically crawl digital product categorie(s) and create action script(s) derived therefrom. The action script(s) comprise user directive(s) for completing user task(s) on a computing device and software application configured to render a GUI. A natural language understanding (NLU) model associates the action script(s) with text of the user task(s). The action script(s) are tested against completion criteria to output success result(s). An AI model is trained on the action script(s), the text of the user tasks, and the completion criteria. A client device of user may request assistance with a given task, and may render, in response, graphic-and-text display(s) associated with a relevant action script (as determined by the AI model) on a GUI of the client device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for generating and managing an online tool GUI with tiles. An embodiment operates by causing the online tool GUI to be displayed responsive to a request to access the online tool GUI from a user. The online tool GUI includes: a first main tile including a use-case for a first online tool; a first use-case navigation button configured to generate, when selected, a request for the first main tile to be displayed within the online tool GUI; and a second use-case navigation button configured to generate, when selected, a request for a second main tile to be displayed within the online tool GUI. In response to a selection of the second use-case navigation button, the online tool GUI replaces the first main tile with the second main tile including a use-case for a second online tool.

Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for establishing a persistent connection between file attachments uploaded to cloud storage and associated electronic communications. An electronic communication including an attached file may be stored and presented in a communication application user interface that includes interactive functions, such as edit and save functions. Upon selection of an interactive function, a copy of the file may be uploaded to a cloud storage location and, in some examples, opened in a productivity application. A link to the file at the cloud storage location may be stored as a property of the file that is stored with the electronic communication. Resultantly, a connection may be maintained between the file at the cloud storage location and the electronic communication. Based on this connection, the copy of the file at the cloud storage location may be opened upon a subsequent selection of an interactive function.

Abstract: Methods for loading a module on a plurality of device types without modification includes initializing an application native to the client device, the application including a web browser; determining a module to be loaded on the application, the module written in a web-based format and having a set of dependencies indicated within a code thereof; and loading the determined module on the web browser for recognition by the application native to the client device. The loading the determined module on the web browser includes loading the set of dependencies of the module.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are presented for generating notifications for a person according to user-defined notification templates. In contrast to presenting notifications according to a default notification template, the disclosed subject matter is directed to generating a notification regarding a notification signal according to a user-defined notification template. Upon receiving a notification signal, a determination is made as to whether a first user-defined notification template from a template store is applicable to the notification signal. Upon determining that the user-defined notification template is applicable to the received notification signal, a notification corresponding to the notification signal is generated and presented according to the user-defined notification template.

Abstract: Associating user interface elements with information ancillary to said user interface elements includes creating one or more items of user interface element ancillary information, receiving a request for user interface element ancillary information, the request identifying the context in which the information is to be used, searching, using a processor, said one or more items of user interface element ancillary information for items matching the context in which the information is to be used, and returning one or more items of user interface element ancillary information matching the context in which the information is to be used.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a portable terminal and an application software start-up system whereby the application software that is started up is limited depending on the state of a user, thereby providing an improved ease of use. For this purpose, an application software start-up method for an information processing device comprises: performing identity authentication based on static biological information; determining the state of the user by comparing dynamic biological information acquired from the body of the user with previously measured dynamic biological information; and limiting the application software that is started up in accordance with the determined state of the user and on the basis of a permission level that is set in advance for each application software item.

Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments enable adherence to a medication regimen or a healthcare regimen to be monitored using a wearable system. The wearable system can be used to monitor a user's activities by recording activities using a camera that is placed at the anterior part of the user's wrist. The camera, or another sensor, can detect, identify, and verifying movements or gestures of the hand or fingers. A gesture may be a particular hand position, finger movement, or combination of finger movements that are indicative of performance of an activity required as part of a medication or healthcare regimen. The camera can generate a recording of an activity, and the wearable system or a distinct computing device can then analyze the recording and determine compliance to the medication or healthcare regimen based on what action(s), if any, were identified in the recording.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a method, the method including: utilizing at least one processor to execute computer code that performs the steps of: identifying one or more access permissions of an application associated with an electronic device; identifying, based on the access permissions, information accessible to the application; analyzing user information within with the accessible information; determining, based on the analyzing, at least one personal exposure risk; and providing to a user, based on the at least one information exposure risk, at least one proposed solution. Abstract: Techniques are described for displaying help articles, for a web page, that are related to the context of the web page. A help article provider has access to a database of help articles, each of which are associated with target-context data that may include content identifiers for the help article and/or user profile attributes for users that the help article targets. The help article provider identifies content identifiers for a viewed web page based on one or more of: metadata and a URL for the web page. The help article provider searches the help article database using the identified content identifiers. The help article provider may filter the help articles based on an authenticated user's attributes. An ordered list of the identified help articles is displayed, with the most relevant or important help articles displayed at or near the top of the list.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a manufacturer portal are disclosed. More specifically, in one embodiment a content distribution system, as a central location for user generated content may also provide manufacturers with a portal to monitor, and participate in, the process of content generation and distribution. This portal may provide the manufacturers with the ability to: view generated content related to that manufacturer and to filter this user generated content utilizing a wide variety of criteria and to generate content which may be responsive to presented generated content. Content generated by a manufacturer through their portal may subsequently be incorporated into one or more retailer's site utilizing the content distribution system.

Assistance in providing help information is also provided, comprising: an operation capturing unit, configured to capture and send at least one operation of a user; and an information displaying unit, configured to receive and display the help information corresponding to the user's operation history, where the operation history includes at least one operation. With the apparatuses and method of this invention, the pertinent help information can be dynamically provided for users according to user's operation history.

Abstract: An application includes functionality for dynamically modifying controls based on readme documentation content after the development of the application is substantially complete. A developer marks up a documentation file to include references to graphical user interface controls. The application generates a registry that stores associations between the documentation content and the affected controls. The application then modifies the properties of the affected controls to alter presentation or at least one behavior of each affected control. When the application creates an instance of an affected control, the control includes the modified presentation or behavior.

Abstract: To provide a user with an easily understandable help document, the MFP capable of executing a plurality of processes includes a process designation accepting portion to accept designation of at least one of the plurality of processes, a workflow generating portion to generate workflow definition data defining the one or more processes accepted, and a help document generating portion to generate a help document corresponding to the generated workflow. The help document generating portion includes a summary page generating portion to generate a summary page having listed thereon process names for identification of the one or more processes defined by the corresponding workflow definition data.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for generating dynamic context aware help for operations supported by at least one reporting system. The methods and systems relate to receiving a help request for an operation from a client computer including at least one report file, analyzing the at least one report file to generate context data, dynamically generating help data according to the context data and the operation and sending the generated help data to the client computer.

Abstract: A system architecture that predefines a unique schema around content or applications so that the actions of a user are understood outside a specific piece of content or application. Additionally, the application also reports to system applications what specific locations or actions are currently being undertaken by a user. With this data, the system application can build a system whereby it concurrently presents contextual information to users outside of the specific piece of content or application in a way that supports bringing users with similar contextual states together and allow other information services to be hosted and presented concurrently to the user outside the specific piece of content or application on the multimedia device.

The method includes: initiating a wizard including dialogs for completing a task; displaying a dialog to the user; enabling, based on a network connection being available, a help threshold associated with the dialog; determining, by a computer processor, that the help threshold is exceeded after enabling the help threshold; sending, in response to the help threshold being exceeded, an availability request to an external support server; receiving, after sending the availability request, a confirmation of an available support specialist; displaying an indication to the user that support is available; receiving a support request from the user; opening a chat dialog in response to receiving the support request; and initiating, using the chat dialog, a chat session between the user and the available support specialist.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying an answer to a question in an electronic discussion forum. In some embodiments, text from a discussion forum that includes a question may be retrieved. One or more responses to the question from the discussion forum may be determined. An answer to the question may then be determined from the one or more responses to the question. In some embodiments, an answer may be determined based, at least in part, on at least one of a context of the text from the discussion forum, a context of a location in which the answer to the question may be further presented, and user behavior related to the one or more responses to the question.

Abstract: An authoring system is provided for generating a demonstration payload, which is installable on a target electronic device to create a demonstration environment on the target electronic device. The authoring system includes a build interface operative to receive authoring inputs which specify characteristics of the demonstration environment. The authoring inputs include specification of promotional media to be played during a promotional mode of the demonstration environment, and specification of mock user data to be accessible during a tryout mode of the demonstration environment. The system further includes an assembler module operative to generate the demonstration payload based upon the authoring inputs.

Abstract: A system and method for enabling structured communication among a social network is disclosed. The system enables a user to formulate a question and answer pattern including potential responses to the question based upon the form of question. The system then translates and transmits a message including the question and answer pattern to users over a plurality of different messaging platforms for eliciting responses to the question using the answer pattern. The system then aggregates responses to the question and presents the responses in a summary format. A language for defining messages according to static and dynamic content and other attributes is disclosed. Collaborative filtering reduces the decision space and as a result increases the possible range of specialized communications a user can choose from and apply or the message processing space available to contemplate alternatives resulting in more effective choices.

Abstract: A control system and method is described having a framework in which many applications in a user interaction system (UIS) can share common data regardless of which application obtained the data and all without prior knowledge of the other applications. The shared data is typically personal data of the current user, such as name, location, preferences, etc. However, the system can also be used to share style sheets, announcements, etc., that can be utilized by multiple applications. The data is stored in a standardized manner in a location available to any application. Application's have access to the data based upon user privileges at any particular time.

Abstract: A method and system for providing personalized information to applications executing on consumer devices by: building a consumer preferences profile on a consumer device using predefined associations between consumer preference attributes and application events (including user input); summarizing the consumer preferences profile into a profile summary when applications require a new personalized data resource; requesting a personalized data resource from a centralized database of data resources over the broadband network by including application context information along with the profile summary in the request; analyzing data resource groups in the centralized database to find a candidate set of data resources according to resource rules in the resource groups; selecting a personalized data resource from the candidate set of data resources that matches the profile summary and context information; and delivering the selected personalized data resource to the requesting application over the broadband network.

Abstract: The present invention is, in one embodiment, a system and method based on a client-server architecture for seamlessly integrating various information systems. In one embodiment, a bundle of files is deployed to a collaboration client, in order to enable the integration of the collaboration client with disparate information systems and content. In one embodiment, content within a mailbox item is allowed to become a “live” object, and is associated with trigger events, and actions, including sending all or part of the content to a separate information system. In one embodiment, mailbox items are subjected to predefined searches to assess whether they include certain content objects. In another embodiment, panel item elements are visible in the overview panel of the collaboration client. The user may interact with the panel items by dragging content onto them, double clicking them, and invoking actions from a context menu if one is available.

Abstract: Computer-readable media, computerized methods, and computer systems for intuitively surfacing a teaching animation that demonstrates a manual gesture recognized by a writing-pad tool are provided. Initially, the writing-pad tool is interrogated to determine a context of a computing environment associated with a touchscreen interface. Generally, determining includes recognizing a current condition of the writing-pad tool based on whether text is provided within a content-entry area generated thereby, ascertaining whether a focus of a cursor tool resides within the content-entry area based on whether a portion of the text is selected, and ascertaining which actions are available for invocation at the writing-pad tool based on the current condition and the focus of the cursor. The context of the computing environment is utilized to identify which teaching animations to promote to an active state. Typically the promoted teaching animations are associated with the actions ascertained as available for invocation.

Abstract: Authorized priority alerts are permitted to “pop up” on top of a running screensaver in a computer display without suspending operation of the screensaver. A windows manager monitors for priority alerts from applications. If the screensaver is active in the display, the windows manager determines if the alert issuing application and alert type are permitted to breakthrough the screensaver. If so, an alert notification window identifying the content of the alert is generated and displayed in z-order on top of the screensaver, without interrupting the operation of the screensaver displayed underneath. Some notification windows implement security features by displaying only a portion of the content of the corresponding alert or completely obscuring the content of the alert and only notifying of the presence of the alert. An additional security feature requires the user to enter a password in the notification window before the content or type of alert is displayed.

Abstract: Techniques for the association, customization and automation of content from multiple sources on a single display device are described. A method includes storing an association rule as defined by a user, where the association rule defines a main content source and an associated content source. When the user accesses the main content source, automatically receiving content from the main content source and content from the associated content source as defined by the association rule. Then, causing the display of the associated content overlayed on the main content via a user interface on a display device. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

The first collection of help information is distinct from the second collection of help information. The method also includes integrating the help module into the application help to form a modified help. The modified help comprises a combination of the first collection of help information and the second collection of help information. The modified help can be stored or displayed.

Abstract: A framework for using metadata to describe user interface elements and for interactions of the user interface elements with an end user and/or with data source(s) that store configuration data. The metadata can be used to generate a settings UI and code that manages the UI such as gathering user input, handling UI events, validating collected data, handling errors and warnings, managing interactions between different UI controls, and the like. A computer-implemented system that facilitates a settings user interface can include a code generation component that employs the stored metadata to automatically generate the settings UI and code that manages the UI. The code generation component provides the generated code to a data source component that interacts with the data source(s). The settings UI is displayed to an end user via a user interface component.

Abstract: A unique monitoring system and method is provided that involves monitoring user activity in order to facilitate managing and optimizing the utilization of various system resources. In particular, the system can monitor user activity, detect when users need assistance with their specific activities, and identify at least one other user that can assist them. Assistance can be in the form of answering questions, providing guidance to the user as the user completes the activity, or completing the activity such as in the case of taking on an assigned activity. In addition, the system can aggregate activity data across users and/or devices. As a result, problems with activity templates or activities themselves can be more readily identified, user performance can be readily compared, and users can communicate and exchange information regarding similar activity experiences. Furthermore, synchronicity and time-sensitive scheduling of activities between users can be facilitated and improved overall.

Abstract: A method and system for enhancing search skills of human guides in an information search system. The method allows human guides to be trained when they are not particularly busy fielding search queries from information seekers. The method can include determining whether a guide is idle and presenting to a human guide at least one video or audio source for training the human guide. The video training can include a demonstration of the most effective method for providing search results for an information search query, thereby enabling a guide to learn effective strategies and skills for conducting information searching. The training can contribute to the likelihood of the guide being promoted to a level of a more experienced human guide, thereby allowing greater effectiveness in fielding search queries for information seekers.
