Abstract: Systems, methods, and user interfaces for presenting video search results are provided. Representations of video search results are presented to the user. Each representation may include a video preview of the video item. If desired, the preview may be dynamically executed in response to a user action, for instance, in response to a user hovering over a portion of the associated video representation for at least a predetermined period of time. Another embodiment in accordance with the present invention relates to a user interface for presenting video search results in response to an input query. The user interface includes a video item representation display area and a video item display area. The video item representation display area displays a representation of each of the video items, and if desired, the representation is dynamically executed in response to a user action. The video item display area may display the one or more video items.

  • Patent number: 7546554
Abstract: The multimedia content browsing system for small mobile devices smoothly blends three key tasks: querying the multimedia contents by keywords, exploring the search results by viewing keyframes of the multimedia contents, and playing a stream of the multimedia contents, e.g., videos or video segments. Videos can be stored in a segment-based multimedia content database, which is designed to support the browsing, retrieval, and reuse of videos. A layered imaging model is introduced where each layer may have its own transparent value set individually, continuously, and interactively, and the layers can overlap on top of each other when rendered on the screen. Since a small mobile device alone may not have enough resources to handle the entire task of multimedia content browsing, a scalable architecture can be adopted to break up the task among the small mobile device, a Hard Disk Drive (HDD), and a resource-rich computing device.

Abstract: To improve the art of graphical user interfaces, the present invention introduces a system that displays iconic resource representations having a salient dimension in a manner that provides the user with an indication of where the user is within that resource. The system of the present invention achieves this goal with the use of a novel system of icon label placement for that resource icon. Specifically, the system of the present invention uses the position of a label on an iconic resource representation that extends beyond at least one edge of a window to convey a proportional position within than iconic resource representation. Thus, a user is given an understanding of the current proportional location within an iconic resource representation from where the graphical interface system renders the label on the iconic resource representation.

Thus, there is a one-to-one relationship between the manipulation of an audio recording, via manipulation of the graphical form, and the resulting edited audio recording. The audio editing system relates audio to a visual graphical form by providing a tactile dimensionality and functionality to translate the form into an edit and/or mixing audio process and result. In this manner, a user may not only hear the representation of the music that has been edited or mixed, but may also see the representation of the audio in representative graphical form. The form may be manipulated by a user in logical scale to the sound so that the user may learn the traits and tools of the editing system.
